"You gave it to Dad?" Proteus grinned, despite the late hour sleep was the furthest thing from his mind. He had a new book. "I bet he put it in his library!"

"No, no, no!" Proteus pleaded. "Come on, Mom. Please, I just want to look at it! Quick look and I'll go to bed, promise," he gave her a hopeful smile, bouncing excited still edging to dash off and find the book.

She had been behind him watching and poked her head in after him "Excuse me? What did I just say? You have one last chance Proteus... what do you want to do?"

Proteus eyed a book sitting on his father's desk. "I think I want to go to my room..." he snatched up the book, accidentally knocking a few things from the desk, and sprinted around Rowena, "Night Mom!"

She summoned the book, and him, right back to her and glared, obviously pissed off. "Good answer.. wrong actions. Now this is mine until I think you should have it. I won't ground you with the bracelet yet.. but your not going to see your nighttime friend for a LONG while.."

"I gave you plenty of chances to do what your were supposed... you chose not to you now you have to deal with the consequences. Bed.. now!" She led him there... locking his window with her own personal spell created just for that purpose. To keep magical children in. "Goodnight" She kissed his forehead and left the room.. putting a spell on the door to let her know if her left at all.

Proteus waited until she left and tapped the window a few times, trying multiple spells he knew and finding that none of them worked. "This is not good..."
