She arched her eyebrow as she heard this and continued talking. "You ran into someone? Are you alright? You're not in trouble are you?" She wanted to know more about the situation. She was protective and just wanted to know the story.

She gave a sigh and rubbed her eyes. "Raine, you know how I feel about you hanging out with people that I don't know whether they're a boy or girl. And I'm not too happy that you didn't come home to help. I think you need to come home and have dinner tonight. How about this? Invite your friend over. That way I can meet him and you can hang out with him another day." She smiled to herself and was trying to be reasonable.

she paused a bit before answering. "hold on." she covered the phone and looked at him. "she wants to know if you would like to come over for dinner. that sound good?"

He smiled and nodded. "That sounds fine with me. I didn't really want to get fast food. Tell her I said thank you for inviting me." He was a polite person by nature. He was still waiting for her to get done and he was being patient.

she nodded and turned back. "he siad that's fine with him. he said thanks."

She smiled at this and crossed her arms as she continued to talk. "Right. Now you two get here A.S.A.P. Dinner is almost done. I'll give your dad a talk before you guys get here and make sure he's nice." They finished up talking and she hung up the phone. "I need you to set another spot at the table. Raine is having a friend come over." Cyan growled and mumbled as he went to the dining room and set up another place. Mari then went to the front door and shouted out at Smash. "Matt! Come here! I want to talk to you!"
After she hung up with her mother, James stood there and smiled. "Your mother sounds very nice from what I could pick up. Protective, as well, but that's a good trait for a parent."

she put her phone away and looked at him. "yea i know. we better get going. mom doesn't like when i'm late for dinner." she turned and ran ahead then jumped high into the air and started flying home.
she could have just teleported themselves there but she wanted to give her mother a chance to talk to dad.
he heared her then finished up what he was doing. he streched a bit then walked back to the house and looked at her. "hey. whats up?"

He took the staff charm off of the necklace and transformed it, taking to the sky and flying beside her.
Mari looked at him and smiled. "Raine is having a friend over for dinner and I want you to be nice." She didn't really break it to him yet, but was going to get there.

"Well, he's someone she met at the store and she wanted to hang out with him a bit, but I told her that I don't like her meeting up with people that we don't know yet. I wanted to meet him first." She didn't say that he was a boy straight out, but leaned into that direction enough.

"I invited him to dinner because I felt it would be a nice way to meet him. If he's a good guy, she can still be his friend." She smiled and crossed her arms. She didn't see the problem in her having a friend that was a boy as long as he wasn't a trouble maker.
