Weren't all the old gods like the Greek Pantheon, and the Norse gods, and Yahweh, and Vishnu and whatever all dead in DC? It was part of the Fourth World stuff I think. Never occured to me before.
So if the Greek gods are real would it be reasonable to assume that all of those gods exist too?

Alright then.... >_>
Because opinions are very fragile things, and I'm too clumsy to be allowed to have one.

We have no reason to prove they do exist in our version of the DCU, so why bother?

Well, there's an Odin in the rp, or someone possessed by the spirit of Odin. Or something. So that's one more god.
It just really expands what we can do when we have access to all the various mythologies. You've pretty much claimed all of the Greek gods and turned that entire corner into a Percy Jackson fanfic, so there's really nothing anyone else can do that has anything to do with Greek mythology because there's a chance it could conflict with something you've done.
More possibilities means more fun. Limiting possibilities means limiting fun.

We haven't claimed any of them, we used them when he needed them and they're only going to be used one more time... unless Kitana wants Wonder Woman to have her vision with Aphrodite during Blackest Night.
We have established the Greek Gods because we connected them to Leonidas, Leo, and Wonder Woman, they were confirmed in the animated series so they were already there.
We've got a character that's connected to Norse, they can set the establishment for Norse. Raven and Constantine are assorted with demons and such, and if we get a Black Atom we can go into Egyptian. We don't need to corner the market on the various mythologies in our DCU until something comes along connected to them.
Its not limiting fun, it establishing at a more steady rate.

Sorry, that's fair. I don't mean to accuse you of anything. I just get ideas sometimes. What I'm thinking of really doesn't matter cuz I'll probably never get to carry out my plot. I just prefer to think of everything as fluid is all.

Ideas are good to have but lets not over do it until we cover all the angles, its thinking like that that pushed Blackest Night back.
Before we set ourselves out to be the next Baskin Robbins with 31 flavors... lets atleast try to master vanilla first.

I thought Blackest Night was pushed back because Slag was gone.

Everyone was jumping to want to do Blackest Night but nobody stopped to ask about the League's Green Lanterns. Last I checked, they were a pretty big part of that arch yet nobody was playing them or even acknowledged an interest in playing John, Guy, Kyle, or Hal.

I picked up Hal partly so we could get underway with the arc. I'm trying to find out everything about him so I can really play well with him cuz I'm afraid someone will come and say "no, that's wrong, you should be doing this". Still I think I'm going to be doing things really differently.... This is why I'm hesitant about picking up canon characters.

This is (finally) a pertinent argument that warrants attention. Allow me to explain. The reason Odin was established is because Loki is about to be established; Loki is about to be established because of Joker Mask, a crossover between Dark Horse's The Mask and DC's Batman. I'm unsure how we are going to carry this beyond a short arc as of this point. Actually, to be perfectly honest, I did it for the people who are obviously being left out by The Game arc, simply because I find it to be elitist while still serving a purpose.
As far as the Blackest Night arc goes, we have some very interesting characters coming in that I find both fascinating and necessary, considering our obvious lack of canon characters to exploit, John Constantine, Swamp Thing, Azrael II, Jonah Hex(?), among others. One of my concerns is the lack of a Black Canary, or anybody else affected by Green Arrow that is not directly played by myself. I am very glad that you, Stray, are playing Hal Jordan, but even still, Hal will be dealing with Nekron or the other captains of the Lantern Corps by the time Oliver comes back to life.
