Ok, so we were discussing World War Hulk in CD, when somebody started to speculating on who would die, leading me to utter this:
Quote:
I hope nobody dies. Killing off/reviving a character has become a far overused crutch.
I hope nothing earth-shattering happens, I hope nothing shakes the Marvel U to its core, I hope nothing is changed forever.
I want to see Hulk Smash a lot of things, big names go toe-to-toe in block-leveling battles, lots of pointless splash pages, gratuitious cameos, and at the end, everything to be ok.
Is that so wrong?
So, is it wrong? One of the endearing things about comics, for me at least, is their timelessness, the fact that incredible things happen, but the status quo never changes. Clark will always be Superman and always use that ridiculous disguise, et al.
Is anybody else jaded with the seemingly monthly Crisis and Universe shaking events, not to mention the revolving door of death?
Whats wrong with a fantastic story that changes nothing?
