"This should be fine!" Jen said. "If you see a photo of me behind the bar then that means Bruce has been here. He set one up at Blackhawks so Zinda wouldn't serve me alcohol."
She clenched her fist. She really wanted to sucker punch her stupid cousin, although running away seemed like the best option. She didn't want to face Ms Frost again, not till after Winter Break at least.
"So what are your plans for the holidays?" Jen asked. "I have zero confidence about going with Bruce to his stupid little house with the white picket fence."

*The bouncers were going to stop the couple but one look at She Hulked Jen and they swallowed their comments. They took a seat in a corner booth and Jen popped the Christmas question on Chris.*
Oh...well...I mentioned I don't talk to my parents, right? Mom disowned me and took a restraining order out on me. Because I wouldn't give up my amulet.
*Chris took the amulet out from under his shirt and looked at it.*
My friend Dani took pity on me and gave me an invite to her house. Not ideal but I really had no place else to go. Especially after the dumping. Heh.

"Charming!"
Jennifer gave Teddy a playful nudge to the shoulder and rested a hand on Billy's shoulder.
"You keep hold of this one Billy. He's sweet, charming, and he has good stuff back there."
And she promptly gave Teddy a pat on the tush before retaking her seat. Some of the other magic students chuckled. They all liked Teddy too. The Magic Club seemed to be considered 'outsiders', even by their own peers to a slim degree. Hence, they took care of their own, and those their own peers cared for; IE: Teddy.
Billy looked back up at Teddys blushing face and he winked.
"Told you you had a cute one."

"It sucks, huh." Jen said. "I can't go back to my Dad in California after all the rampaging I did. He's still paying for some of the damages and he gets real angry when he sees me."
Jen looked around the place, it was a little out of the way and she guessed Bruce would never think of looking for her here. Jazz wasn't a type of music she had ever got into. She noticed a few billiard tables and some weird people all hanging about looking at them.
"It's cool you have a good friend to go with. I would invite you to go to my cousins with me but I can see it getting real messy. I'm going to have some interesting fights over Christmas."
Jen laughed awkwardly, it wasn't very light hearted. "So what about those moves? I'm sort of sorry we gave up the dance so early!"

As soon as Jen's hand smacked his bottom, Teddy's cheeks flushed pink, and he looked down to his little chipmunk sneakered feet to avoid eye contact with the other members of the club. "Ithinkweshouldgodance," he said quickly before guiding Billy out onto the dance floor.

"Hey guys!" Wally stood up and gave Achilles a bro-hug. Then he shook Patroclus' hand. "Looks like you're having a good time. Cassie went, uh, I think she went to cool off a bit. I didn't ask her to dance and she saw me dancing with Clawdeen, and I think it was a bit of a misunderstanding."
Wally grinned, and then slapped the side of his head.
"Oh yeah, I wanted you guys to meet the kids from Monster High. Their mascot was stolen by the Jedi and I thought we could help get it back."
Wally led the two over to where the Monster High kids were sort of hanging by themselves, dancing and getting their freak on.

"Oh cmon Teddy!" Billy laughed as he was yoinked onto the dance floor. "It wasn't so bad! It's not like I haven't done the same a hundred times over!"
The lights over the dance floor started to pulsate via Dazzler's mutant ability and she stepped up again to the microphone and started to sing to the warm beat of the song...
I should have known better

Hartley and Wallace danced, oblivious to the rest of the school. This was easy for Hartley, as he had his eyes shut the whole time and was imagining the two of them dancing all alone in his cavernous lair (a closed-down instrument factory) while the caged Dazzler sang for them in a gilded cage suspended from the factory ceiling.

Achilles groaned good-naturedly.
"Oh that sister of mine!"
And he allowed Wally to lead on, escorting both Patroclus and himself over to the table where the kids of Monster High were hanging out with a few students from Hero High, socializing in a light manner.
The first one to take notice was Deuce Gorgon who stood up rather excitedly and looked at Wally.
"Dude, is this him?"

Deuce Gorgon was a green-haired kid with a mohawk that looked like snakes. He was wearing a part of dark sunglasses even though the lights were dimmed in the gym.
"Yeah, it is. Achilles, this is Deuce, he's Monster High's running back, so he's sort of the Wally West of their football team. And he's-"
"A HUGE FAN!" Deuce held out a hand to shake Achilles'. "Dude, my moms has told me all about you. I'm like halfway there to asking you for an autograph or something."

*Chris looked around. It wasn't ideal but...maybe...*
I hope you don't mind a little embarrassment.
*He shot off before Jen could protest and headed towards the jazz band on stage. He grabbed the leader, stopping the music, and pointed at Jen.*
See her? That's She Hulk. She Hulk wants to hear Smooth Criminal by Michael Jackson or she...will...SMASH!
*The leader swallowed in fear and started whispering back to his band. Chris stood before Jen, flipped her a quarter, and started the dance he memorized from the Smooth Criminal video. It wasn't near perfect but it was close enough to be recognizable.*

"So...Billy's thing for the holidays? We should probably give him an answer," Wallace whispered softly, his body shifting side to side with Hartley's, noting that Hartley's eyes were closed...meaning he probably wasn't all mentally present.

Jen caught the quarter, which didn't make a jingly sound but Jen ad lipped some just for her own amusement.
The other Jazz club members looked a bit miffed at the funky 80's tune that started and Jen clapped happily at the introduction of something that she had been secretly hoping would happen.
Any Members that wanted to object took one look at She-Hulk and looked the other way. It would be fine for one song...they guessed.

"You should let me lead then instead of trying to lead yourself. Since we're both dudes...we both can't lead." Teddy guided Billy's hands to where they should be placed, and he began to lead him on the dance floor.

In Hartley's fantasty, Billy crashed through the convenient skylight of his lair while on a burning broomstick, knocking over Dazzler's cage. It fell on the ground and rolled over and over and over until she was green in the face. Then Billy landed on top of Wallace, grinned and spat out 'oops, my bad' as Teddy came in and gave Hartley a disapproving, disapproving look.
Hartley wrinkled up his nose.
"Do we have to give them an answer?"
The end of the song pulled him back to reality.
"To be honest, even if I say yes, it can't be the whole time. I have to go back home. This time."
