Yuki giggled. "Much worse I bet." she agreed. "Like those cuts you had in your legs. You're lucky you're not disabled." she admitted.

"So he'll have a greeting committee either way, is what you're saying...." Kaguyo's hand clenched the back of his robe.

Shiori sighed deeply, resting in Aled's arms limply.
She was truthfully very tired, even in her dream.
"I don't think I've ever heard anyone say that." she admitted. "This is new..."

Maeve shrugged. "Fine, for the most part. Fir really did a amazing crash course with us before all hell broke loose. It was kinda fun."

Forrest looked over and shook his head. "Fir's more capbale of violence than any other of korred birth here."

Fir shot him a look. "Nice phrasing," he said sarcastically.

"It's the truth."

"Oh, no, no, it's not a bad thing." Shiori looked up at him. "I just... you notice those sorts of things I suppose, especially if it hasn't happened for a long time...."
The skies were starting to clear some. It was already considerably warmer.
Her mood was improving.

Kaguyo looked to Ainsu, sighing deeply. "No... he won't." she agreed. "That was a close call, wasn't it..?"

"Hai, if you're anything like Ou-sama, we're in trouble!" Yuki lamented.
She wasn't kidding, either, and the boy did have a penchant for trouble.
Uhohhh....
"Watari-san, your slides are ready." she pointed to a microscope. "You might want to take a look."

Kazuhiko blinked. "Everyone's capable of violence." he replied calmly. "He wouldn't be so dumb as to go up against an entire village. He's hurt anyhow." he yawned.

"If she's moving, she's fine." Kaguyo answered. "Although I can't deny I'm impressed... Hapushi-chan! Doko desu ka??? Su-kun, let's go find her anyway." she decided quietly. "I wonder how long he was actually here before revealing himself??? We might need to change our plans..."

Yuki frowned. "If your wife is afraid of it... It's probably for a good reason." she whispered. "What if we instigate the sample? See if we can make it react somehow, figure out what'll happen?"

Shiori shook her head. "So did I." she admitted quietly. "But I can't exactly be so rude to someone looking out for me. You've given me a home, food, clothes, a job, clean water, healthcare...." she shook her head. "It... for a second, I thought it was a trap." she watched him closely from his lap. "But... if you're actually trying to save my life, despite my not telling... Then... well, you certainly deserve a chance, don't you think?"

"Gomen nasai, but you haven't exactly been yourself the past few years." Shiori pointed out, "Apparently."
She had a point.
"You've slept with your maids before, after all... I don't know. You're royalty, I'm not. I'm just a dancer you kept staring at for hours while the soil was being handed out... It seemed like a purely physical attraction you had for me at first, and sometimes I still wonder that." she admitted quietly, watching him. "Not too many people care about me, Aled-san, it's a bit strange for all of that to change after being the same for so long... Usually if anything people expected me to be a whore or someone for their taking. They were sorely mistaken."
She watched him for a while, skeptical but open. "Why me?" she asked again. "And no dodging this time... Why me?"

Yuki nodded. "Very necessary." she agreed with Watari. "If your wife's scared, and your son is wary, we can't go taking any risks. We should be just as worried as they are."
She closed the door on him, smiling a bit and waving through the little window.
"Just sit tight for a sec."

Kaguyo sighed, nodding grimly. "How the hell did he get in..?" she whispered, sitting down in a chair. "Kazuhiko had the shields up, the base----ah, s**t, we didn't lock the base down in time did we?"

"That's what I was worried about too." Shiori admitted quietly. "I can't replace her... I can only be myself." she warned, watching the ocean for a while.
"I... I won't, I won't get my hopes up if that's the case."
Not if she was only going to get hurt in the long run.
He needed to decide---or listen to himself, more accurately.
She couldn't take guessing games.

Yuki shrugged. "What's the worst that could happen?" she blinked at him, but she followed his instructions nevertheless.
"How should we begin?? Electro-shock therapy?" she smiled, adjusting her glasses. She brushed a few dark pieces of hair behind her ears, clipboard in hand.
She was more than ready to start testing.

Kaguyo shook her head. "Then we certainly do have a problem." she whispered. "It would be better if Kazu-kun was here...."
Then again, that meant there would've been a full-scale battle between the boy and Aoki.
He had promised the man death after all.

Yuki nodded.
She pressed a few buttons on a keypad, the machine starting up as she put on a pair of tinted safety glasses.
A bright blue light flashed from the machine. Once she knew it was ready, she carefully set up the sample, and subjected it to a few shocks.

Shiori pursed her lips, thinking as she rolled them over one another. It was sorta like biting one's lip, except the lips covered the teeth and disappeared for a moment, only to emerge like paper through a press.
"You don't pity me?" she asked softly, warily, blinking a few times. "You haven't decided me out of pity, have you??"


Kaguyo sighed, nodding. "Excellent point... but at least we would've had warning he was here." she pointed out, "Known well before Hapushi was attacked, even.. The base would've been destroyed no doubt."
