As far as I know, yes. Last time I was playing, I think I was trying to marry one person in every town. I think if you married two people in the same town, one would find out about the other, and they'd divorce you.

if you keep them happy enough then they won't care/notice, also I hunted down all the gossipy people and slaughtered them, so that also may have something to do with it.

with my luck, i'd end up like th efellow in Krod Mandoon And The Flaming Sword Of Fire.... he married a villager in the nearby town, and had kids with her, slept with another woman from a village farther away, his first wife found out so he told her he ended it with the other, went back to her with a story that his wife died and married her, she shows up preggers and both his wives tried to kill him! xd
