The way I see ravens...they aren't evil. They are misunderstood. Rand's soul is something that has been locked away for a long time, and finally the Raven gets a chance to be closer to human thatn she ever was.
To me, ravens are magestic. They way the fly, their blackish blue coloring. In native cultures, it is the raven who brought life to north america.
She also likes the aura of "seeming" evil, it allows her to keep her distacne and not become attached.

Ravens...
Nelphean Nightblade is very supersticious about ravens...
Lets jsut say he's from an evil place called "Ravenloft" where Ravens are evil.
Perhaps looking at everything in terms of good and evil is deeply misleading.
In DnD, as I shall always use for my examples, Alignment (good-evil, law-chaos) is a guide to help make characters. Defining what is 'good' and 'evil' is done in term of selfishness and selflessness.

Yeah Ravens are trickers, there are cunning and vice like the fox, but be careful of there words, for they may drink you with them.
Raven was said to have brought life to this world.
For the Aztecs it was the snake, from which all human life developed, that is why the snake is the revered of all animals in the Aztec religion.
