A dash of socialism worked on the Great Depression.
A large majority of Russians still love Stalin, and 70% of Chinese love Mao.
This is a step in the right direction.

So we'll let thousands of families slip through the cracks because we can't differentiate between a helping hand during hard times and offering a free ride? Self-reliance is great, but life sucks and shitty things happen to good people. We shouldn't turn our backs on people after we ******** them over.

How is it our fault? You're just letting them pin the blame one someone else. They make mistakes to, and life isn't 100% circumstance. = It's not the government's job to fix everyone's financial problems. That bail-out was sickening enough. How do you think that would help our deficit if every family in America that needs help got their own little bail-out?

We were the ones to let the economy get so far out of hand. We put too much regulation where there shouldn't have been, and not enough regulation where there needed to be. And just because mistakes are made, doesn't mean a person or family should spend the rest of their life paying for it. And I'm not saying the government should fix everything, we just need a push in the right direction. A total lack of intervention would mean even more devastating effects than what we're going through now. Do you not notice all of our jobs disappearing left and right, or forclosures on whole neighborhoods? It has the potential to get a whole lot worse if we play the "hands off" game.

I had something to say to that... but... >.< I don't want to argue with you anymore. You're smart enough to back yourself up and I respect your difference of opinion. I just like you too much to let this go any further.
heart sad Sorry.

It's nice to see some actually intelligent political discussion going on someplace. Most of where I've had to be lately involved rather uniformed people talking about issues badly (I mostly mean in person. Not that I'm not somewhat uniformed but I know better than to talk about politics when I know nothing of it).

XD I voted Republican in the last election, butt I identify myself as Independant. My mother is a Republican and my father always votes Independant. Not a lot of Democratic or other influences in my life except my friends. =P And I don't let my friends think for me.

Rule One: People are stupid...
It doesn't matter who's president, people are still stupid. Someone will always ******** things up along the line somewhere, it's Murphy's Law.
What ticks me off is the rate at which the average citizen of the world doesn't take responsibility for their own actions.
Besides, being a villain isn't any fun if you don't get to claim rights to the chaos you just created. >.>
