Devon laughed. "The ego problems wouldn't surprise me." He shook his head and laughed again. "Minerva...that's what that one guy called her." He made a mental note about that one. "So she's working for the AA now? What exactly does she do?" He asked, smiling from dodging her question. Again.

Ruby shrugged, "Military stuff, I don't particularly know. I'm mostly in the social part of the AA myself. She's either connected with Krovh troops, or just training troops, but again, I don't know. I'm just the gal who'll greet everyone at the door, bake brownies, an' give moral support. " Ruby gave a slight scowl, "I always end up bein' everyone's cheerleader."
Ruby held up three fingers. "Third time, sugar, an' I'm guessin' you are a super, cause if Minnie had a grudge against you, it'd prob'ly take super powers to dodge her bullets, unless you're like a ninja or somethin'...ninja's are pretty cool."

Devon nodded, taking note of Minerva's possible job positions. He noticed the change in Ruby's tone when she made the cheerleader comment. "If you don't like being a cheerleader, then get into the game. And who ever said anything about dodging her bullets?" He said with a smile as he tapped his chest, indicating a bullet-proof vest of some sort.

"Cause when I get into the game, I'm the first one to be tackled." She stuck out her tongue, like the thought gave her a sour taste in the mouth. "I don't care too much though, I'll be goin' home soon enough."
She glanced at the place he tapped. "Sug, I've been shot by Min twice, an' if she's aimin' for you, she doesn't shoot for the chest, she goes for a head shot. Though I dunno, in the middle of a battle, she'd shoot chest, more hits that way."

"Makes sense. The red hair would make you stick out quite a bit." He laughed for a moment and hopped over a long wood beam in the way. "I've never had a tussle with that woman during a sensible situation, so I've never really had to dodge. It's always just been surviving what hits me." He smiled again and shrugged. "Oh well. Where is home for you?"

Ruby nodded and pulled on a curl. "It does." She skipped over the same wooden beam, adding an extra bounce to her steps, like she was playing some game in her head. "Home is Mississippi, but I'm goin' to the base to get my son first."

"Good reason to go to the base." Devon said with a smile. "So where does 'Minerva' normally stay in the base up here? I want to avoid her." Devon laughed as he said this and shook his head.

"I just hope my little sugar hasn't gone an' burned the base down. If he's been left unattended he can be a real terror." She shook her head. "As for Min, I s'pose she frequents the barracks, an' her own room at times...but for the most part she keeps to herself. I haven't ever seen her spend much time interactin' with folks. I can point out her room for you if you're needin."

Devon smiled at the thought of the base being burned down. "That wouldn't be in our best interest if he had burned it down." He yawned for a moment, and then shrugged. "But then again it might make this war end a little faster. And it would be handy if I knew which room belonged to Minerva."
((Silly Ruby...she can't tell she's being tricked. Unless she can and is leading him into a trap...))

((Ruby's too trusting for her own good, and has too much stuff on her mind to start getting suspicious of Devon.))
"Nah, it wouldn't." Ruby smiled and pointed up ahead. "An' there it is, no smoke or nothin', watch out for snipers though, or any bad folks shootin' randomly. I'm sure the base itself has prob'lly been under attack quite a bit. But Merlin should be with my son, so he should be just fine." She gave a slight nod moving towards the base. "An' I'll show you Min's room, but I dunno how it would help you any, especially if you're tryin' to avoid her."

Devon looked up to the roof of the building and frowned. "They wouldn't shoot me for no reason if I were with you, would they?" He asked with an awkward smile. "And I plan on avoiding her room at all costs, but to do that I need to know where it is first. Who's Merlin?"

Ruby shook her head. "No, they wouldn't." She paused..."Well they did try an' shoot one fella I was with, but he ended up just gettin' deported to the minefields, an' it was a weird situation altogether. An' Min's room is number 046, on the left side of the hallway. Merlin is an old wizard, an' he's usually a decent enough bloke."

The Chief considered the entire thing foolhardy, and while he did lower the gun, he kept it on him as he walked through.
