Jendayi looked at Maji again, her face a bit stunned. The gazelle had just taken notice of her, and she was foolishly watching him. He seemed to joke with Maji, who in return gave a weak smile. Drumstick? Taller than the grass... finally? What was this!?! Jendayi eyed the strange creature, then back to Maji. She felt somewhat out of the loop as she looked at Maji, to the gazelle, to the grass, and then back again to Maji.
"Oh," Jendayi began, smiling meekly and flattening her ears against her skull in embarrassment and rage. This little... cub was somehow poking fun at her. She had seen strange things before and experienced equally strange things, but had never been made fun of. Of course, the second thought that came to her head was the fact that she has also never seen a situation like this, with Maji and the creatures and then her, somewhere in between and slightly frightened at all this. "Maji..." she began, again then stopped herself, "What... what are your friends' names? You lead us all here and yet you don't think to merely introduce us." She gave a friendly smile to him to show that she was teasing him slightly, but truly did want to know their names. What a lie. It was all so confusing her, yet she couldn't give up her dignity to just go ahead and ask what was going on, so she settled with knowing at least their names.
((eh he he heee. Poor wittle gazelle, Jendayi's gonna jump you and slice out yer brains, then feed them to Maji and turn him into a vampire... thing. >3 bwahaha!
That's what happens when you give me immigration project due tomorrow, caffeine/ sugar, and gazelles... Bleh. XP))

She peered through the clear water, and taking a deep breath, she plunged her two front paws into the water. Watching the dancing fish mock her disgusted face, some darted past, while the others fought the current and watched a strange female lioness stare into the water with a now blank expression. Sighing inwardly to herself she peered around unsure of herself, Maji seemed a bit on edge, or for that matter had been pushed over it. Continueing to gaze she found a trio of prey animals were in the water talking with him as the female stationed close by looked like a dumbstruck badger. She laughed to herself, now that was comical. The trio seemed friendly towards Maji and she assumed they knew each other, but at any other place she would have chased them down. But since she had moved here, she would have to learn how to fed herself from the main food source available. Her paws where loosing feeling, but she ignored the tingling and peered back into the water. She spied a fish that would have proven they could be so dumbstruck that they drooled, seeing it was closest and most sluggish, she selecting the memorized fish as her target, leaping towards it. The fish darted away, causing the ending result to leave her wet and fishless.
This was going to be hard.

 ((I've been a baaaad Thally gonk I was hoping Dusty would come back :pokes at her: )) He hadn't been making fun of her in the least, Maji never thought to do so to anyone. For one it was a waste of time to sit and make one feel badly about themselves, for two it was simply childish... Jendayi hadn't done anything wrong to him, he had been a bit intimidated by the new way he'd been treated and spoken to, but not enough to drive him to anger... and certainly not enough to cause him to poke fun at anyone. He sat himself down, his chest outwards, shoulders back, and head high. The gazelle was simply pointing out that Maji had grown. When he first met the odd group of animals, he'd been a tiny cub- hardly able to peek over the longer grass that grew by the river bed. They found it most ammusing to remind him of it from time to time. He could sense a bit of tension in the female's tone- her ears had flattened and she seemed a bit put on guard. "...Oh... do forgive me...", he looked a bit sheepish, turning to eye the others who were nervously glancing between the two lions. "These are my friends, I've known them for a good time... this is Gure..." He motioned a paw towards the gazelle who simply gave one of the more doofy smiles ever made possible in the animal kingdom and tilted his head to the side in greeting, "That's Baba...", the water buffelo snorted and nodded his head, " And that's Biton..." The zebra nodded, still eyeing the female suspiciously.
Magi took a deep breath, feeling a bit put on the spot. He might as well explain himself. "... Jendayi... I don't eat red meat because... when I was younger these three were my only friends. Lions were unheard of in these parts- they were all wiped out by an illness. I didn't much like solitude and these three were big enough not to isolate me. I learned a lot from them, please forgive me for the confusion."
Gure took a few steps forward- he'd always been the one to start off converstaions with strangers, "Mwali's got a girlfriend? Woa, now I've seen everything. Yeah pardon him, no manners at all." He waved a hoof around in a small circle, "Kid ate a fish right in front of me once. I nearl lost my lunch!"
Baba rolled his eyes and shook his head a bit, "Dont' mind him... he's had his antlers caught in the trees one too many times. It's a pleasure to meet you, miss."
"Mwali's got a girlfriend!" Biton sung playfully- that is until a hoof stomped down on his. The zebra whinnied a bit, sending a dark glare over to Baba. "Low blow, mate..."

Ramses walk gets slower and slower as he looks around with wide eyed awe, probably quiet for the first time on the walk, being an young and....distinctly opininated cub. The softer sounds of fresh, green grass, and the dapling of light through the towering trees, like pillars to the sky, is completely beyond his experience, and thus, quite astounding, he can't help but stare, and mercifuly, be completely distracted from his tirade about "Mum's" who aren't bright enough not to get lost when their 'perfectly reasonable' grasshopper chasing children are looking for them. "Wow...."

Maji chuckled at the cub's awe, shaking his mane out of his eyes before continuing, "Oh you've seen little yet, my friend. My home is inside a winding cave that trailes through the inside of a cliff that houses quite a few waterfalls. The largest is said to be given to us by the rain god. If you'd like, I can show you around there, perhaps find a room to call your own- and fix something if you're at all hungry." He smiled, remembering not to speak down to the cub, he had quite a bit of pride to him but it was respectable enough, "A gentlelion such as yourself has done quite a bit of walking, I myself get winded from such long walks."

"Rain God?" He blinks, baffled, as he plods to catch up. His mother had mentioned god, or gods before...but he hadn't really been listening..."Who's that?" As soon as he actually STOPS he's going to be dead tired, but that barely even occurs to the cub, who's running purely on the raw energy of curiosity now that the driving power of 'aggrivation' has worn off."Do you really live in a cave? Whats it like?"

"What happened to her?" Ramses blinks sleepily as he listens to the story. "The princess I mean..." He yawns...and his stomach rumbles, both at the same time. "I bet she got away...what did she look like? Can I learn all that?" The questions stumble over each other, followed by. "I'm hungry, can we catch something?" He notes this lat bit with the imperiality of the young and sleepy, peering at you with briliant red, half lidded eyes that look as though they're having trouble staying open, though like as not he'll dream about the gods of fire and rain, as only a cub can imagine them.

He laughed a bit, "That she did... she got away and returned here to these lands- as far as I can guess. I've not bothered to ask her highness of her past, it's none of my buisness, I'm but her knight, my job it to maintain order here." He smiled, looking over he cub, he looked tired, the poor thing. "Though I'm sure many of the females have it in their mind that I'm the king here- either way, I'm reponsable for keeping everything and everyone sane." Sane as can be anyway, disincluding himself unfortuantely.
"And but of course, would you uh... like for me to carry you there? The road gets a bit steep to the river, quite slippery. It would be a shame to get mud on that brilliant coat of yours."

"mmmmm." Ramses blinks consideringly at this. Being carried makes him feel like a weanling....but he's tired...and hungry....and feels like biting something...preferably something he can eat. "You're just saying that cause you think I'll fall in." he says petulantly, flipping his tail half heartedly. "mmmmmm....carryme..."
