Shizuka pressed tha blade against his throut, her piercing glare trying to show that as long as it had something to do with her friend, it was her buisness.

"No one touches my girls," Faust said softly. "As long as they're in danger, I'll keep coming back, again and again..." a little unsteadily, he stepped forward, but when he oversouled his spirit was strong. He reassured Shizuka with his calm blue eyes, "It's all right; I'm here. And as long as I'm here, nothing can hurt you, Marie." There, he'd said "Marie." It was as though a cloud had lifted from the forest; Faust heaved a great sigh, as if he were unshouldering a heavy burden, or finally letting go of something he'd held for far too long.

"Au contraire... I want to live. I've never wanted to live so badly... but quality of life is important, yes? Without the people you hold dear, life holds no meaning, regardless of lifespan. But, then, you don't know very much about holding others dear, do you?" Faust asked. His expression turned stony. "After all, Hao... you killed Marie."

"No... I don't think you realize how upset a person can get over something like that. So allow me to translate it to terms you can understand," Faust offered, landing a powerful blow to Hao's jugular.

"First, it's like pins and needles," said Faust casually, his oversoul shooting a cascade of them into Hao. "Then, it's like being punched in the stomach..." his oversoul proceeded to punch Hao, "And, let me see... and then it's just darkness, darkness descending upon your heart and soul, as if the world will never see the sun again..."

"Eliza and I loved Marie very much," murmered Faust. "When you took her away from us, we almost got a divorce; her death tore our lives apart. When we finally mangaed to pick up the pieces, move on, think about trying to have another child, Eliza was gone in an instant. And not a day has gone by that I haven't wondered why I didn't go with them. And tonight, I think I realized... that I have a part yet to play. Netsubo and Shizuka are the future, Hao. You are the future that will never be. And I am the present, dedicating to preserving young life."

Do you have any idea how many posts this has been going on? sweatdrop By the way, at this point Faust has a really tough oversoul, made up of Mephistophiles (a devil), Beelzebub (Satan's second-in-command), and Eliza, who's an angel. And the battle is more psychological than physical, even though the descriptions imply a physical manisfestation of Faust's words.))
