Devon started shivering. Why? Why did that just happen? He looked around quickly for an exit and then lo and behold, Christopher appeared! Devon tugged on Artemis's sleeve and pointed toward Christopher.
"Christopher! Hey Christopher!" he shouted.

Ilandere ran to her door in pursuit of Christopher but stopped short of stepping out seeing Artemis and Devon nearby.
“Oh no.”

Hearing a voice call his name Christopher slowly turned around, only to see
Devon, and accompanied him was Artemis, Remember what had happened between Ilandere and Artemis, Christopher quickly turned around re-opening his wound, with the great amount of pain spreading out his body, Christopher could feel the warm blood once again on his back. Christopher because of the pain he felt passed out.

Seeing Christopher fall to the ground made Ilandere want to lunge out and help him. She hesitated, looking uneasily from Christopher lying unconscious on the ground, to Artemis and Devon. Unsure of what she should do, she looked on helplessly.
What was she about now? Should she just stay where she was and remain unseen? No doubt Christopher was the reason why Artemis and Devon had come. They probably were looking for him . . . unless . . . they were looking for her as well. In that case, there was no point in running and hiding.
Ilandere went to Christopher quickly and knelt at his side, not caring about the other two looking on. Easing him onto his front, Ilandere looked to Christopher’s bandages to see them painted bright crimson with the traveler’s blood.
“Oh, Christopher.” She sighed with frustration.
He had fallen pretty hard. All Ilandere could do was hope he hadn’t hit his head or something incredibly stupid like that; thought she wouldn’t really know until he woke up. Flipping him back over to his back, Ilandere put a cool hand behind his neck and supported his head.
“Come one Christopher.” She said quietly to him, “I know you can hear me. Your alright, you’ll be alright. Just wake up now, I need you to wake up.”

Christopher could hear Ilandere, but not understand her. And when he went to talk all he could do was mumble, He Tried to move but it was impossible his body had frozen up on him. Christopher was able to get a couple understandable words. "Don't Do Anything."

Artemis gazed at Devon, then Ilandere and Christopher. He blinked a few times, wondering what just happened. Then it clicked. Standing in front of him was the two he needed to talk to. He strode forward, inadvertantly draggind Devon with him, and stopped a few paces in front of the other two.
"I need to ask you something and to tell you something Ilandere." Artremis's eyes started to dim, as if he was about to break down and cry.

Ilandere was relieved to hear Christopher speak, but was not too happy about what came out. Something was wrong with him and this, quite obviously, wasn’t good for the situation. She did what he had told her to and left him where he was but continued kneeling by his side. She was about to ask him what was the matter but stopped abruptly after hearing Artemis behind her.
Her shoulders sank as she listened to what he said.
“Artemis, please. Just . . .” she sighed, unable to finish. She wanted to just turn around and slap him silly for being such a jerk and wanted to give up on her plans and just return to Third Earth with them all at the same time. She knew she could not do the latter without deadly consequence not only to her, but to those around her.
All Ilandere could do was sit helplessly and hope things turned out.

"Ilandere, listen. I just have to say I'm sorry. I never meant for any of this to happen. It was my damned pride that caused me to do this. Once again, I'm sorry. And now, where is Saint Dane? I have a deal with Him, and it requires the destruction of Saint Dane."
Artemis sat down and sighed.

When Christopher heard Artemis's voice say Saint Dane, He opened his eyes and leaned up slowly away from Ilandere. "Artemis, I know how to kill Saint
Dane, Just give me a little time." And with that he closed his eyes once again and fell asleep.

Ilandere closed her eyes and shook her head angrily, cradling Christopher's head in her lap.
“Artemis, why do you have to be so . . . augh, never mind.” She sighed in frustration, “You just don’t understand. I can’t do anything to get you to him, he comes to me. And now that you’re all here I know what’s expected of me in his eyes. You must leave now, get back to the others. Please, he’s just messing with you all. He wants everything to end in a battle. If you don’t leave now then he’s going to show up and get me involved in whatever you want to do to him and someone’s going to die; most likely you or I. He’s either going to make me finish you off or he’s going to kill me for going back on him. Please, don’t make me go through this. Just go back and . . . let me figure things out. Give me some time to figure things out.”

"I hate to say that you would be the only one to die. If I'm being tactless, I'm sorry. But I technically can't die. I've tried...on several occasions. Jumping off the tallest building, trying to drown. But it can't work. He won't let it." Artemis pulled up his left sleeve to his shoulder once again and showed her the weird symbol, "See? His mark. I'm supposedly bound to him for eternity, or until I get enough souls for him. Saint Dane is one such soul. He wants it. Bad. That's the only reason I have that scythe, Kafziel. It's the only thing that can hurt 'demons'. Try to understand. But I'll respect your wishes and leave. Okay?"
Artemis looked around and took Kafziel from Devon's grip and handed it to Ilandere.
"Give this to Christopher. It has...interesting properties. Tell him that it can help cripple Saint Dane."
Artemis bowed and turned around, whispering to Devon at the same time saying something along the lines of, 'watch her and the scythe for me, would you?'

Ilandere looked to the mark on Artemis’s arm curiously. It wasn’t any design she had ever seen before, but it did hold quite a bit of significance. She accepted the scythe as he handed it too her and took it in her hand, relieved that he was going to do what she asked and leave. As he turned to leave, she looked back to Christopher and pushed the hair from his eyes.
He was still unconscious but even in his sleep he had a scowl on his face. She frowned worriedly and pulled Christopher’s arm over her shoulder lifting him from the ground. Turning to leave she glanced back at Devon wondering who he’d follow – Artemis or her. With a shake of her head she continued back to her small house so she could better help Christopher.

Christopher who had pretended to be asleep after he stated "Don't do anything" Was now being carried By Ilandere back to her house. "Ilandere put me down please." Christopher said.
"I'm ok for right now, and I don't like to be carried. I'm sorry that I worried you but it was for the best. I had to get Devon and Artemis to leave...And I also got a gift.."

Ilandere stepped into her house and jumped as Christopher spoke. She wasn’t aware that he was awake – how long had he been? She let him down carefully and held out her arms to him should he fall.
“Are you going to be alright?” She asked with concern, “You fell pretty hard there. What happened?”

((A scythe is the curved blade on the end of a five foot pole, it isn't something to easily attach to a belt.))
