I play alto currently. I played bari for a school year in eighth grade. Last year, I play tenor for something like three weeks. And then the jazz band disassembled itself.
But there's no way I'm playing tenor again. I just don't like it.

I play alto most of the time. But I also mess around a bit and play soprano, tenor, and bari every once in ahwile. But I march with alto because baritone is about as tall as I am (exaggeration), and we don't really have a soprano section. So I just play alto most of the time. rolleyes I'd like to try playing contra bass one day, though, just to hear how deep it goes~ <3

Durza the Shade yo2yo2kid I play alto sax. All saxophone have the same fingerings so you could play almost any of them if you could play just one. All instruments are like that, but saxophone is the only one with common key variations. I'm pretty sure bass clarinet and maybe even contrabass are Bb, same as the regular clarinet. There are clarinets in other keys, but like other instruments, they're not very common. my contra-bass is keyed in Eb...

Does anyone know any good begginer Alto Sax books? I'm trying to switch from flute to it and...IT"S REALLY HARD! I mean my teach hasnt done anything to help so i'm online printing out fingering charts and tahts all i know about the sax..nothing about the embroucher or anythiing.....i need a book.

back on top! it reached the bottom again crying
Hey so get this. I'm not marching a sax spot this year in band. There were 15 spots and 20 saxes, and since I wasn't in band last year I got voted off the island ^_^* I'm marching a trombone spot right now. It's great cuz there's lots of low brass features and stand up front stuff. I get to do cool stuff the rest of the saxes don't XD

I play and march the tenor, I love it. Our theme this year is Chicago (the band) and we get a lot of the melody, along with the trombones but they don't play out. This is only my first year playing, did drums in middle school, biggest mistake ever, and didn't do band my 9th and 10th grade year. I caught onto it really quick.

We had a Chicago medley for the NCAA tournament i love playing 25 or 6 to 4.
