Those dusties remind me of the flood in halo. which at first i called chickens. the small parasitic floods i used to call "chickens"
Human infected flood: Medium chicken
Elite infected flood: Big chick and/or kentucky bucket <-- my personal fav.
The big round exploding flood i couldn't figure out what they were exactly i called: Drop chickens. since they were like dropships. all the chickens spawn from them.

Dusties in runescape look a bit like the Flood from halo.
Those little small parasitic floods i used to call: Chickens or Small Chickens
The humans infected by a flood. i used to call: Medium Chickens
