Ah...I've seen evidence of the youthification that being asian can have on you. I have a friend Tiffy who'd mother come from Taiwan. She's the coolies though.

I'm Anglo Indian and pretty small- I haven't grown an inch since I was 13. I swear some of the nurses in the special care nursery when theo was born thought I was 15. Then they'd look at his chart and you'd see their face go- "Oh". Then they would generally be a lot nicer. They also assumed I was single. One of the RN's assumed Ant was my big brother! It didn't bother me at the time because I was too wrapped up in Theo, but in hindsight it makes me cranky on behalf of all the great mums out there who are even younger than me and single - (so what?!) - My mother copped it when she was having us because it was a mixed race marriage! When will people realise that a good mum is a good mum- look at the child. If they are happy, then they have good parents/guardians. What else is important? Sorry- didn't mean to rant xp small minded people just really get under my skin! (I could probably get some cream for that, huh?heeheee)

My parents caught attitude for the fact that they were a mixed couple as well. It still happens. Which is really dumb, but hey what ever. I say love is love no matter what race or sex.

Oh my parents got hell for being mixed, not only because they're a mixed couple, but because my mom isn't the asian one, but the white and my dad the chinese! Most people just assume that my dad's a GI and got my mom from Korea. Yeah, got it wrong people!
But I feel really cool about it. I know that both me and my husband wouldn't care who Logan brought home for us to meet his future wife, no color would matter, all I care is she's smart and a good person! LOL!
I do hear EVERY time I go out with Logan "He must look like his dad." No, really? I didn't know I had blonde hair. I did get asked once is he adopted. ARGH!

I hope Ivan doesn't hit. I like having no school, but at this rate we'll never finish cleaning up debris and I'll have no summer vacation. crying
