Kaito grinned at Shiro, still rubbing the back of his head; and Uruloki suddenly emerged from Kyrie's sleeve and landed on the table, hatchling-sized, sitting majestically despite his small size.

"If you please," he requested in his small voice, "the term is juvenile, not 'juvie'."

He let out a bit of a squawk when Kyrie laughed and poked his side. "Fusspot," she teased him, her dark eyes sparkling with amusement. "You're getting cranky in your old age."

"Where is Ada, anyways?" Andarien spoke up, putting his chin in his hand and looking towards the door. "He and Nana are sure taking their time ..."

"Perhaps they're waiting for the rest of us by the door," Kyrie suggested. "I didn't actually say I'd be waiting for you all here. Or perhaps they're still packing. They did after all spend more of their time in the inn than the rest of you."

Since Kyrie didn't have anything to carry (aside from Uruloki, who perched himself on her shoulder), she was the first to leave the dining room, and it was she who spotted the couple waiting by the door.

"Ah, we wondered if you might be waiting for us here," she grinned. "The rest of us were waiting in the dining room, but thought that since no one said we were going to meet there, it just sort of happened that way, that you might be here."

Earendil chuckled. "I see. Good thing you came looking for us then. Everything's set?"

Kyrie nodded. "Set and done. We'll have you in your camping site before you know it."

It took less than a quarter hour for the group to reach the spot that they'd chosen the day before, and once they arrived everyone went about setting up their tents. Andarien let his Pokemon out - well, Zeus and Ponydash, since Eon was still off with Ai somewhere - before helping his parents set up their tent, since Shiro and Kaito didn't need help with the one they shared with him.

As everyone settled in, Lancaeriel started a fire so that she could start preparing lunch for everyone. Kyrie showed them where to find the best wood for fires, the easiest place to get water, and warned them about the wildlife in the area, though there was nothing overly dangerous.

"Someone should get Daeron and Iorlas's tent and set it up for them," Wren suggested. "If they're not ready to join us, I mean."

"Do they have it with them?" Kyrie asked.

Wren nodded. "I think so. We don't have any of their things with us."

"Well, if the rest of you are settled, I wouldn't mind getting back to my husband," Kyrie replied with a smile. "I'll come with you." She turned around to look at the others. "Anyone else care to join us?"

"I'll come," Shiro volunteered, stretching as he moved to join Kyrie and Miyuki.

The others declined, having other things they wanted to do (or in Kaito's case, nap).

Kyrie laughed when she saw Yasu following after Miyuki. She had heard about his evolution from Uruloki, but his description had not quite been adequate - the creature was far softer looking than Uruloki had told her. The rest of the picture he had painted, however, was quite accurate: Yasu did look like a fiery puppy with a rabbit's head.

"So this is the new Yasu," she grinned as they headed back into the city. "All grown up now, I suppose? Will he be changing again?"

Kyrie cocked her head curiously. "You mean there are creatures that can take on more than two forms consecutively?" she asked.

Shiro chuckled softly. "Indeed, yes. A good number of Pokemon have at least three evolutionary stages. None that Andarien or Miyuki own, though."

"Fascinating," Kyrie murmured. "And do they all have abilities like these do?"
