Both boy straightened as the girl's emerged from the shower house. Kedrick smiled slightly and strolled over to Arielle. He placed his hands on her arms and lightly kissed her nose. "Every minute." He said with a smile.

Dimitri followed him over, his hands stuffed deep in his pockets, and slouched back in his usual relaxed position. "We didn't have to wait to long for you guys because 'Princess-Kedrick' over here had to make sure he got every little grain of sand out of his hair. " He teased, giving Kedrick a mock-nasty smile.

Kedrick returned the expression, wrinkling his nose at him. "Hey don't forget who put it there." He said, and saw Dimitri smile, shaking his head. Kedrick smirked slightly, and smacked his friend's shoulder lightly. "Come one, lets go get something to eat." He said, putting an arm around Arielle and starting down the path.

Dimitri smirked and followed Kedrick's example, putting an arm around Maria and following them. "Now, it's time to think about what exactly we're going to do..." He said with a slight frown, scuffing his feet along the ground.

Kedrick nodded his agreement. "Seeing as we're all starving and it's a late dinner, we'll need something quick." He pointed out.

Dimitri gave a thoughtful hum of agreement. "We could-...no...That would take to long....What about!...wait....no.." He said, frowning again and rubbing his chin with his free hand. He hesitated, thinking for a moment. Then his eyes gleamed and his trademark smirk crossed his lips. Dimitri snapped his fingers. "Got it!" He exclaimed, turning to look at Kedrick to confirm his idea. "Old camping favorite, we can roast hot dog over the fire tonight!" He said.

Kedrick was nodding his head before Dimitri had ever finished. "Perfect!" He said, "it's quick, not a ton of prep time, we just have to build the fire and we can start roasting." Kedrick looked at the two girls. "What do you two think?" He asked curiously.

Arielle smiled back at Kedrick after he had come over and kissed her nose. No matter how many times she had grown accustomed to such gentle signs of his affection for her, her stomach still did somersaults. She turned her head to face Dimitri, catching his 'Princess Kedrick' comment and started giggling. "That sounds like a wonderful idea," Arielle said with a smile, "We all need something in our stomachs."

Maria watched with a small smile at the rest of her friends as Dimitri and Kedrick were at it once again. As they did so, she continued doing her best to brush out most of her curls, even though she knew she would have to do a better job in the morning, if she had the energy to do so. She felt Dimitri's arm around her around the same time that she found her hair as brushed out as it could be.

As they were heading back to the campsite, ideas about dinner were being tossed back and forth. Arielle agreed that it would make sense that it would be good to eat something quick, not only because it was late, but after all the physical exercise (if Arielle could call it that) that they had gone through earlier that day.

Maria glanced up at Dimitri, making sure not to lose her footing, as Dimitri was trying to figure out what was something that they could all eat before crashing to sleep. She began to think as well, but most of her options always seemed to actually take a longer time than they desired for the food to be prepared. She didn't notice the gleam in his eyes or even his smirk, but her attention returned to him when she heard him snap his fingers.

At his suggestion of eating hot dogs over the fire, a part of her wanted to comment about eating s'mores for desert, which would be nice, but she knew that everyone probably just wanted to eat dinner and go to sleep. When Kedrick asked her and Arielle what they thought of it, she didn't even have to think too hard on her answer. "I think it's the perfect meal for dinner after a tiring day," Maria agreed readily with a light nod.

"I'm all for it," Arielle added with a smile, "And we get to roast them on sticks, right?" Her childlike excitement had appeared on her face in just a matter of seconds. It had been ages to go camping, and doing stuff like what they had suggested made her feel like she was going camping for the first time again.

(I live in Pittsburgh 8D. I finally got to posting this after getting through my exhaustion and finishing some senior stuff for the yearbook. I hope you have a wonderful time in Pittsburgh~!)

Kedrick smiled at Arielle's childish excitement, it made his night to see her face glowing, and her eyes sparkling with interest and excitement. "Yep, We can definitely do that." He said, giving her shoulder a gentle squeeze.

As they walked, the group of friends found themselves turning the corner and the campsite came into view. Kedrick let his arm slide from around Arielle's shoulder and walked over to kneel next to the empty fire pit. He dusted his hand lightly over the old ashes and his fingertips came up white with the powdery ash. The fire pit hadn't been used in a while, so Kedrick began pushing the stone ring around back into place and picking up sticks that where lying around their campsite. He looked over his shoulder. "Girls, if you want to grab the hot dogs and marshmallow stuff, it's in the trunk of my car." He instructed, and then glanced at Dimitri. "Dem, how about you get the sticks for roasting and help me build the fire."

Dimitri snapped into a salute, feet together, hand raised to his forehead. "Sir." He replied, and then smirked, and headed over to the edge of the woods. He pushed some low-lying brambles out of the way so his didn't scratch up his legs, and then bent down, feeling over the ground till his found his first roasting stick. He straightened, almost hitting his head on a low hanging branch. Dimitri scowled slightly, and then peered closely at the stick though the dimness to make sure it was satisfactory. He nodded his head once, and then continued his search.

Dimitri pushed his way back out of the woods and into the campsite a few minutes later. His arms where loaded with sticks and heavier logs of all sizes, and resting on top where the four long, thinner sticks that would be used to cook their dinner. With a soft grunt, Dimitri let the arm load of wood down on the ground next to where Kedrick had a feeble flame started. "Here," Dimitri said, crouching down next to him and poking a few small, kindling sized twigs into the tiny, flickering flame.

Kedrick watched as Dimitri nursed the fragile flame, and smiled as it began to grow, greedily eating whatever small bits of wood Dimitri thrust at it. Once the fire looked a bit more stable, Kedrick started adding bits of bigger wood. Finally the two boys sat back and surveyed their work. The fire blazed and crackled as it eat away at the wood, casting a warm, friendly glow around the campsite. Kedrick looked over. "Fire's started girls!" He called, placing a hand to the side of his mouth to amplify the sound.

"YES!" Arielle squealed excitedly, breaking free from Kedrick and twirling around with a girlish giggle before she stopped. She looked at all three of them with a sheepish smile and laughed nervously before she continued forward, trying not to let the embarrassment on her cheeks show.

Arielle was grateful that they were back at the camp once she did that and had the excuse to go get the food from the car. She nodded, not saying anything since she still felt a bit embarrassed and walked over to Kedrick's car, Maria following closely behind her.

"You honestly can't help but be adorable, can you, Ari?" Maria asked with a friendly smirk, tossing an arm around her shoulder. She knew that Arielle was hiding off her embarrassment, but she didn't see any harm. "So, where exactly in the trunk did your beloved Kedrick stash away our heavenly food?"

Arielle looked up at her friend, glad her cheeks weren't as flushed and gave her question some thought. "Well, I know that he wouldn't pack it too far in with everything else," she responded as she opened the trunk once they reached Kedrick's car. "Plus, it's easier to unpack if it's closer to the top."

Maria nodded in agreement to Arielle's logical answer and scanned around the contents of Kedrick's trunk to find the hot dogs and marshmallows. In just a matter of seconds, Maria found the marshmallows on her side and Arielle found the hot dogs on her side.

When Kedrick called out that he had the fire started, Maria looked back and saw that Dimitri had returned with what he was sent to get and that there was indeed a fire waiting for them. "That looks like such a nice fire," Maria said with a small grin.

Arielle nodded in agreement and made sure to close the trunk before she walked back over. "Thanks for making the fire, Kedrick~!" Arielle yelled back with a small smile before looking back at Maria who was by her side again.

"Soon we can finally feast on food!" Maria exclaimed happily, "I really am beginning to consider my bear hunting option though, Ari."

"Oh quit it you," Arielle teased back with a giggle, bumping against her best friend before they both broke out laughing.

Dimitri looked up at the girls, an indignant expression on his face. "Hey! I helped too!" He interjected, looking deeply wounded. He jerked a thumb over towards Kedrick. "This guy didn't know the front end of a match from the back." Dimitri protested. And yes, it was probably true. Kedrick had no experience with starting fires and while he did in fact know the front of the match from the back, the feeble flame he had manage wouldn't have survived long if Dimitri hadn't saved it from it's untimely fate.

Kedrick smirked. "True, he- Hey!" He said, stopping mid sentence once Dimitri got to the part about the matches. "That's not fair Dimitri, I at least got it lit." He said with a smirk.

Dimitri snickered at Kedrick reaction and bumped his shoulder playfully. Kedrick always knew that Dimitri didn't mean any harm by these comments. While the two boys bantered constantly, Dimitri was very, very glad he had Kedrick for his friend.

Dimitri shifted slightly so that his back was to Kedrick's shoulder and he was leaning his weight against him. He looked up at the girls, his face breaking into a smile as the conversation returned to Maria's great 'bear hunting endeavor.' He crossed his arms across his chest, still grinning. "You'd better not, He said, and then reached out a hand. "Here, let me have those hot dogs. Dimitri leaned forward a bit, and picked up the package of hot dogs before resuming his seat. Digging a pocket knife out of the pocket of the jean short he was wearing, Dimitri cut open the package. He snatched up the sticks that he had found and speared two hot dogs on eat stick. Dimitri handed the first two to the girls, and then reached over he shoulder to hand Kedrick the third. After stabbing two onto his own stick, he shifted his position closer to the fire.

Kedrick nodded his appreciation as Dimitri handed him his 'dinner-on-a-stick.' He hesitated slightly, looking at what the girls had brought from the trunk of his car. He realized they where missing some things that he had left out and stood up, handing Dimitri his stick. "Hang on to this for a sec okay? Don't let it burn." He said lightly, and the stepped past Dimitri and back over to the trunk of the car.

Kedrick returned a few minutes later with a medium sized box containing a loaf of bread, graham crackers, chocolate bars, and ketchup and mustered. "Here we go," He said, sitting down again and taking his stick from Dimitri. "The rest of the essentials." He finished, glad he had remembered them, or else there dinner might have been a little difficult to manage.

"How were we supposed to know the truth to the story, Demetri?" Maria asked him with a teasing grin. True, she didn't know that Demetri helped out until he told them since she was busy talking with Arielle when they went to get what Kedrick asked them to get. Of course, that didn't mean she wouldn't just give up the opportunity to mess with her boyfriend. Sometimes, she thought that she got her teasing side from her brothers, but her brothers were a bit worse than her, so she stopped the comparison a lot.

"Well, whoever is responsible for the fire," Arielle added, "Thank you anyway. Now we can be warm and enjoy a wonderful campfire dinner." She went to go sit the marshmallows down somewhere while Dimitri took the hot dogs from Maria so that they could prepare to roast them over the fire. Even though her stomach was excited about her soon to be dinner, she was still highly excited about having s'mores after their dinner. Even the idea of eating roasted marshmallows made her smile to herself.

When Dimitri handed them their hot dogs on the sticks he found, they thanked him and Maria sat beside Dimitri. Arielle sat alongside where Kedrick was sitting and moved her food closer to the fire so that it could cook.

Arielle blinked and watched as Kedrick walked away, wondering what it was that he needed to get. While she waited for him to return, she focused back on her meal, making sure that she didn't accidentally burn in.

Maria was focusing on her hot dogs as well as the fire itself. Just the feel of the warmth and the sound of the crackling, it was almost like the camp's own soundtrack. She pulled her stick back so she could see if her food was ready, and when she had done so, Kedrick had returned with everything else that they needed for their meal tonight. "I can't believe that we forgot to get all of that," Maria said with a light frown, "At least we have someone here to remember when we're missing stuff."

Arielle nodded and grinned, pulling back her stick as well. "It certainly would be hard to make s'mores if we didn't have the graham crackers and the chocolate."

"Why do I feel like that's the only thing in your mind right now, Ari?" Maria asked with a playful grin.

Arielle just shrugged her shoulders and the two friends started giggling before they both, at the same time, put their food closer to the fire, which caused another fit of giggles to escape them.

(Here we go~. Finally back home in Pittsburgh and here's your long awaited post 8D. Hope you had a wonderful Easter~ 8D.)

Dimitri listened to the girls talking back an forth, mainly on the subject of S'mores being on Arielle's mind. They had now ordered themselves very nicely, Maria sat next to him, her shoulder almost touching his. He sat next to Kedrick, and Arielle on Kedrick's other side. He felt a smile touch his lips, and then widen as the girls began to giggle. He found it positively adorable and glanced over at Kedrick who, he could see, was also smiling widely. Dimitri could tell that nothing made either he or Kedrick happier than to here the sound of laughter from the girl they loved. Dimitri shifted slightly, adjusting his position and stretching his arm out a bit farther towards the fire, the hotdog stick held loosely in his hand.

Kedrick stared into the fire with a small smile and a slightly absent expression. The flames where mesmerizing, dancing in the darkness and never following the same pattern twice, it was very easy to get lost in them. He shook his head a bit, realizing his had just been staring, and he pulled his arm back, checking his food. It was beginning to smell good. The hotdogs skin had browned nicely, sizzling quietly as the juice inside it boiled. He glanced over to where he had set the box of other food supplies. "Hey Dem," He said offhandedly. "Pass me the bread?"

Dimitri looked up at Kedrick, nodding once. He leaned forward a bit, still Keeping an eye on his own hot dog. Dimitri grabbed the bag of bread out of the cardboard box and tossed it to Kedrick. "Catch." He called lazily, a small smirk touching his lips.

Kedrick jump a bit, but managed to catch the bread. He smile wryly. "Thanks." He said, undoing to tie and pulling out a slice of bread. He watched as Dimitri pulled his own food from above the fire, studying it critically. "Need a piece of this?" He asked, holding out the bread to him.

"Yeah, Dimitri said, taking the bag from Kedrick, grabbing a piece and placing the rest of it next to Maria. "For whenever you're ready." He said with a smile. Dimitri leaned forward again and pulled the ketchup and mustard out of the box. "Here, You like this don't you?" Dimitri asked, setting the ketchup next to Kedrick. He squirted mustard on to his own hot dog and took an appreciative bite. He smiled to himself a little, glad to finally be getting food in his stomach after so much physical exercise.

Once the giggle fest was drawing to an end, Arielle, as well as Maria, noticed the smiles on their boyfriends' faces. It was such a wonderful evening with all of them smiling, Arielle could tell that moments like this was something that they would enjoy for many years to come. She pulled out her stick and took a look at her hot dogs, blowing on them before she took a bite to make sure the meat was cook. However, she didn't realize how warm her food actually was and burnt her tongue.

"Ow...," Arielle mumbled, sticking her tongue out so that the cool air would cool it down a bit.

"There was no need to rush, Arielle," Maria said with a small smile as she pulled out her stick. She blew on her hot dog and took a very cautious bite, not wanting to burn her tongue like Arielle had. She noticed that Dimitri was now passing the bread to Kedrick so that he didn't actually have to eat it off the stick.

Arielle found herself giggling when Dimitri tossed Kedrick the bread. She almost found herself wanting to clap, but she was afraid that she would be clumsy and drop her meal. She had already been clumsy enough that day when she fell into the lake instead of being pulled in like everyone else, and even being hasty and taking a bit of her food that was still a bit too hot to eat.

"It's a good thing you caught it," Arielle said cheerfully, carefully taking another bite of her food, making sure not to burn her tongue again.

Maria nodded and was about to take another bite when she noticed that Dimitri sat the bag of bread beside her. She looked back at him and smiled back before sitting the stick in between her legs, so that her food wouldn't fall and be wasted. "Thanks a lot, Dimitri," Maria said as she took out a slice of bread before looking up at Arielle. "Would you like some bread too, Ari? I see your boyfriend failed to get you any."

Arielle blinked and only smiled, shaking her head lightly. "Now, now, Ria," Arielle responded with a playful grin, "My beloved Kedrick couldn't drop his delicious meal or the sacred bread. Plus, I want to eat my hot dogs on the stick. It's almost like a kabob and at the same time, it isn't."

"You're so goofy," Maria said with a light laugh as she took a bit of her first hot dog that was cooled a bit with the slice of bread around it.

(So sorry this took me forever to respond to x.x. Came back into school and had a swarm of work to do. I hope this is a good enough post for you @w@. Not sure if I'll be on this weekend, going to be out of town doing some college visiting. But if I can, I shall do my best to respond~.)

Kedrick smiled slightly too himself as the girl's joked around. He looked up at Maria's jab about 'Arielle's dear boy friend not offering her any bread' and opened his mouth to respond, but Arielle' beat him to it, correcting Maria's views. He smirked, and nodded his head in agreement. "Quite right." He said smartly. "We can't have Maria running around with the false idea that I don't care about my dear Arielle." He said with a smile, leaning over a little and brushing his lips lightly against Arielle's cheek. Kedrick wrapped his arm around her, sitting closer, now aware of how chilly it was getting. But the heat from the fire was pleasant on his face, and the cool night air felt good on the back of his neck.

Dimitri looked over at the two of them, and then slid over a bit closer to Maria, bumping his shoulder lightly against hers and settling back down next to her. He took an absent bite of his hot dog, suddenly very sleepy after their long afternoon of fun. The dancing flames where hypnotizing and it's heat seemed to be lulling him into a gentle sleep.

Kedrick looked across the fire to where Dimitri had finished his hot dog and was now sitting with his eyes half closed and his head slightly drooping. He smiled to himself. "We'd better eat these S'mores and get to bed or Dimitri's going to fall asleep on us." He said, projecting his voice enough that Maria and Dimitri could clearly hear.

The dark hair boy startled, jerking his head up. "I was not asleep!" He protested quickly, blinking his eyes rapidly.

Kedrick smiled. "Of course not." He said with a smirk and tossed the still sealed bag of marshmallows across to him. "Here," He said, figuring that throwing the marshmallows was pay-back fort the bread. "Open those, get started." Kedrick instructed, finishing the last bite of his hot dog and cleaning off his stick. He looked up, glancing first at Maria, then at Arielle. "You girl's ready for s'mores?" He asked, seeing Dimitri tear open the bag of marshmallows out of the corner of his eye.

Arielle nodded her head in agreement to Kedrick's response and smiled shyly as he lightly kissed her cheek, the color rushing to make it's appearance on her face. She moved in closer to him once he wrapped his arm around her, finishing up her second hot dog. Like Kedrick, she was also aware about the sudden feeling about how chilly it was getting. However, being near the fire and being near Kedrick was enough to make her forget about it because she knew she had all the warmth she needed.

Maria was finishing her first hot dog when she felt Dimitri gently bump his shoulder against her. She looked over at him, blinking somewhat before grinning gently at him. It was nice to have him so close, and more so than usual. She was excited about the upcoming week and was barely aware that Dimitri was falling asleep since she was so busy eating her delicious camp meal.

It wasn't until Kedrick mentioned something about eating the s'mores before Dimitri disappeared into his land of dreams that the young girl finally looked at her boyfriend, who jumped up and was ready to defend Kedrick's claim. She giggled and waited for him to catch the marshmallows before leaning her head on his shoulder, finishing up her second hot dog.

"You know Dimitri, if you're sleepy," Maria started off gently to him, "You can always go to sleep. Don't force yourself to stay up. We've had a pretty exciting and busy day for the first day. But if you want to be stubborn, be stubborn." She smiled in a teasing manner as she finished her hot dog and sat back up as Kedrick asked if they were ready to have s'mores. "I'm fine with whatever we do," Maria answered, "But I think Ms. Shore may be the best voice out of all of us."

Arielle blinked and wondered if her excitement was being more noticeable after the mention of s'mores. That was all her mind could process at the moment and she had to look away, trying hard not to grin like a happy child, even though she knew that everyone had an idea about pumped she was about the s'mores.

She tried shrugging her shoulders like it was no big deal, doing her best to play it cool. "Sure, I'm definitely ready for some s'mores," Arielle said as calmly as she could, but her childish excitement still gleaming in her eyes.

Dimitri blinked, still trying to fully pull himself back to reality as Maria began to speak. He glanced over at her with a sleepy smile, noting how the firelight danced wildly in her gleaming eyes. Towards the end of the sentence, Dimitri became aware of the teasing note in her voice. His sleepy smile grew more to a smirk that Mirrored her own. "You know..." He said slowly, formulating his answer carefully. "I might just have to be a bit stubborn."

Kedrick snorted with laughter, and the reached across the fire place to hand Dimitri he and Arielle's roasting sticks. "Here," He said with a smile. " Spear a few on their for Arielle and I while you're being stubborn."

Dimitri, smirking wryly, obliged, taking the sticks in one hand, and reaching into the marshmallow bag with his other. After a moment, he pulled out four marshmallows and slid them onto the end of the two pointed sticks. "There you go," He said, handing them back across the glowing coals to Kedrick, who had stretched out his hand to take them back.

Kedrick nodded his approval, and took the two sticks, handing one to Arielle." There you go." He said with a smile. "Now you can have your long-awaited S'mores." Kedrick grinned lightly at her, giving her shoulder a gentle squeeze before holding out his stick so the marshmallows could roast.

Dimitri picked up the other two sticks, and put two on each of them as well. "Maria," He said, handing her her's. He made sure that she had taken hold of the stick, not wanting her to drop it.

The fire had cooked down to a lovely bed of coals, perfect for roasting the marshmallows. If you did it right, you could cook them just so the inside got soft and warm without burning the outside to a blacken crisp. Instead, Dimitri watched as his marshmallow swelled to almost twice it's former size, and the outside turned a delicate shade of golden-tan. There were sometimes when Dimitri would find his eyes glazing over as he stared tiredly into the flames, but he always made sure to wake himself up before he let his marshmallows burn. After several minutes of careful cooking, Dimitri pulled his stick back from the fire and leaned over to pull the cardboard box closer to him. The bottom of the box scraped along over the dirt as Dimitri pulled it to rest between his feet. Careful to keep his dessert from touching the ground, Dimitri rummaged around in the box before producing the chocolate and graham crackers. He looked up, smirking. "It's not much of a s'more without these hmm?" He asked, directing this question mainly towards Arielle.

Kedrick snickered softly, brushing his hand over his forehead before he too pulled his dessert back out away from the coals. "Just send it all over here when you're done okay?" He asked, blinking, surprised at how sleepy he himself was becoming.

((Congratulations!!! and Good luck with that! It's nice to have you back. ^^ ))

"At least I'll have a heads up of you being stubborn," Maria teased back, a gentle smile on her face. While Kedrick was giving Dimitri the task to prepare his and Arielle's sticks with their marshmallows for roasting, she looked up at the sky and noticed that it was a lot clearer than normal. She thought that she saw a constellation that her one brother showed her many years ago.

"Thanks a lot, Dimitri," Arielle said when Kedrick was handing her her stick. She grinned brightly and looked up at Kedrick before kissing his cheek. "And thank you as well Kedrick. I'm very excited to finally be untied with the delicious S'mores, and that I get to share this experience with my closest friends and my wonderful boyfriend. What more could I ask for?"

Maria looked away from the sky when she heard Dimitri call her name and thanked him as she took her stick with her marshmallows. She heard Arielle speak and smiled warmly at her friends. "You know, if I could notion just one thing about you and Kedrick," Maria started as she moved her stick closer to the fire, "Is that you two are the cute adorable couple."

"Then that would make you and Dimitri the adorable flirtatious couple," Arielle suggested with a giggle, although seeing where her friend came from. She never saw herself as the "cute adorable couple" with Kedrick, but probably she could understand if they seemed like that to others.

Maria giggled and nodded, focusing on the roasting of her marshmallows. Her brothers found it weird that she preferred her roasted marshmallows to be just a tad bit burnt, but she found it to have a very interesting taste.

The girls didn't say much as they let their marshmallows roast, although Arielle kept pulling her stick back every so often to make sure that they were ready. When Arielle had taken her stick out again for probably the third time, she heard Dimitri mention something and looked over at him before giggling as she realized what he was talking about. "Of course not~," Arielle said with a bright grin.

Maria smiled and pulled her stick back as she noticed that her marshmallows were starting to get a bit too dark. She poked at one lightly, noticing they were just right. "Don't worry, Kedrick," Maria said with a light yawn, "I'll make sure Dimitri doesn't hog it all."

Kedrick smiled as Maria dubbed he and Arielle 'the cute adorable couple.' Unlike Arielle, Kedrick though that way exactly, and echoed Arielle's sentiments about Maria and Dimitri.

Dimitri watched Maria curiously, wondering weather it would be worth pointing out to her that her marshmallows where beginning to singe. He had just opened his mouth to say something when she pulled them back, poking at them tentatively and seemed satisfied. Dimitri smiled. Having already added the graham cracker and chocolate to his marshmallow, he set it on his knee and pulled another cracker out of the box, setting two squares of chocolate on it. "Here," He said, reaching over. "Let me help." Dimitri squashed Maria's marshmallow between the two crackers, seeing it squish out the sides a bit. "so, you like them burnt huh?" He asked, studying the slightly blackened marshmallow that was coming out the sides. S'mores where made to be messy, that's just how it was. Dimitri picked up his own, taking a bite and tasting instantly the pleasing combination of flavors and consistencies.

Kedrick reached over once Dimitri and Maria where done with the chocolate and graham crackers, taking the box, and the wrapped chocolate bars so that he and Arielle could prepare their s'mores as well. He pulled out enough for both of them, handing Arielle her's with a small smile. "There you go," He said with a small smile, fixing his own up and taking an appreciative bite. He leaned back a bit on his elbows, Arielle still snugged against his side. "Well..." He said, breathing a soft sigh. "After this, we can hit the sack huh?" Kedrick looked over at his friend. Although Dimitri now looked more alert, Kedrick knew him well enough to still be able to tell that he was fighting drowsiness.

Dimitri gave a small, dry, hint of a smile. "Sounds like a plan to me." He said, popping the last bite of his s'more into his mouth. He sighed, letting his eyes close of just a moment. The idea of going to sleep was indeed a tempting one. It had been an early morning, getting up, packing and driving over, and a very long afternoon and evening. Dimitri could still feel the ache of the rowing in his arms, and his legs where slightly stiff from the headlong sprint back to the campsite. He knew it'd be worse in the morning after he had slept, and let his muscles get cold, but hopefully they'd do some walking tomorrow, and that would help to stretch them out.

"Oh, thank you," Maria said, smiling at Dimitri as he brought out two graham crackers and marshmallows for her s'mores. She didn't get a chance to say that she could've done it herself as he took her marshmallows from her. She waited patiently as he prepared for her and found herself smirking a bit when he asked her if she liked her marshmallows burnt. She took her s'mores and held them in her hands as she contemplated her answer.

"Well, my one cousin got me into doing that," Maria finally answered, taking a bite into her s'mores, "My brother's claim I have weird taste buds if I did that, but it's actually not that bad. It's not too burnt, but burnt enough, for me, that it has this nice kind of, crisp taste. I'm honestly not sure if I'm describing it correctly. But anyway, in shorter terms, yes, I do like it like that."

Arielle finally found her marshmallows ready as Kedrick was grabbing the chocolate and graham crackers from where Dimitri and Maria's side. Her marshmallows probably took longer to be cooked since she kept pulling it out, but she had just assumed to herself that it was just the part of her that was used to cooking. Of course, since she wasn't used to making herself s'mores, it was probably not the complete case, but she didn't mind going with that idea anyway.

She took her crackers and chocolate from Kedrick with a smile and prepared it, breaking the chocolate in half so that it was on both crackers and squishing her two marshmallows in between. As she was taking her bite, Kedrick had mentioned that the next step was bed. She knew that it was pretty obvious after the tiring day, but part of her somehow wasn't ready to go to bed.

"I guess so," Maria said distantly, looking up at the stars again, "I feel like tonight is too beautiful to just already go to bed for."

"We still have the rest of the week," Arielle responded, taking a bit of her s'mores, a satisfied smile on her face. "But the stars are very, well, dazzling is the word I want to use I guess. Plus, I'm sure the boys are more tired than we are since they wanted to go race and get our stuff."

As she finished her sentence, she found herself yawning and with a free hand rubbed her eye sleepily, almost like a child would. "Maybe I should lie down too," she mumbled sleepily, "And then maybe Maria may actually hunt down a bear."

Maria rolled her eyes and giggled at the continuing bear hunting joke as she took another bite of her s'mores. "That'd be interesting," she commented in response, "But I'm sure my exhaustion will kick in and I'll have to do everything not to fall asleep outside where I'm not protected. I could get kidnapped by the bears and then Dimitri would just lose it. And I'm pretty sure none of us want to see Dimitri lose his cool."

Kedrick smiled as Arielle scrubbed at her eyes with a loosely closed fist. She looked so little and sweet with her knees pulled up close to her, a small smudge of chocolate by the corner of her lip. He laughed softly, reaching over and gently whipping the smudge away with the side of his thumb. “I don’t mind staying up a bit,” He said, allowing his gaze to lift up towards the canopy of stars above them. It truly was a striking view, a deep base of rick blue-black scattered with white points of brilliant light. Kedrick breathed a soft sigh, soaking in the view.

Dimitri snorted softly in response to Maria’s comment, once again on the subject of fighting bears. “I’d definitely come to save you if you got carried off by a bunch of bears…” He said with a smirk. “Although I’d feel bad for the bears if they tried,” Dimitri joked lightly. “You’d probably be the most talkative pray they ever carried off.”

Kedrick laughed. “True, very true.” He said, grinning over at them. “She’d probably talk their ears off and they’d be forced to let her go." He said, before looking back up at the sky.

Dimitri followed his friends gaze, looking up at the sky. “It is beautiful isn’t it…” He murmured softly, his arm still wrapped gently around Maria’s shoulder. Dimitri supposed, for a view like this, it was worth staying up a few extra minutes, besides, the company with the best in the world. He glanced over at Maria, then at Arielle and Kedrick. His girlfriend…and his two best friends in the whole world and Dimitri couldn’t think of anyone he’d rather spend the time with.

Kedrick flopped back on his back, lying down to look at the stars. He nodded his head in response to Dimitri’s earlier statement. “Yep…wouldn’t it be a shame if a bear came barreling in here and we have to take a break from this lovely scene to cheer Maria on while she fought it?” He asked teasingly, shifting his head to look over at Maria and Dimitri. He laughed despite himself, amused by the strange conversation that had persisted though the day.
