"They come with basic furnishings, but nothing too spectacular. I'll have to get more stuff later, but it's fine for now. Out of curiosity, were you going to say gomenesai earlier?" Markus was interested, as he loved learning about other cultures, especially Japan.

Well, yeah, he replied. Out of habit I suppose. Kimura looked down the hall before back to the other. So what kind of style are you gonna decorate your apartment with?

Markus scratched his head. "To be honest...I have no idea." He laughed hopelessly. "I'm not one much for style. Most of the time I just hole up where I can and wear what's clean."

You don't stay in the same place for very long? he asked, tilting his head. Even if that's the case, you should be comfortable and whatnot.

"Huh? Oh, well it depends. I usually get run out of most places, whether I like them or not. And trust me, I'm adaptable," Markus replied, eyes gleaming and a hint of a smirk on his face.

How does that happen? he asked, leaning against the wall and folding his arms over his chest. People literally run you off, or do you just get like, evicted or something? Kimura looked to Markus questioningly.

"Oh no, people run me off, literally. Makes for great exercise, though!" he replied cheerily.

Kimura's eyes widened a bit before he laughed, shaking his head. That's interesting. Now why would they wanna do that? Are you a bad person or something? He looked over the other once again. You don't look like a convicted felon or anything. Mind sharing?

((Sure. ^^)) "Alright, but remember, you asked. A lot of people in my previous haunts didn't, er...take too kindly to homosexual shapeshifters," Markus finished in a rush. He was open with his sexuality, but it often cost him friends and homes. As for shapeshifting, sometimes he was thought to be a pagan or devil or just plain defective.

Sammie the Cricket Slayer She raised an eyebrow, thoughtfully. She'd forgotten she'd given him her room key. But she smiled in a dramatically aloof way, as she sat back, crossing her legs and called, regally, "Next?" Contessa looked up when she heard the receptionist call for the next person. Seeing no one else come forward, she rose from her seat and directed Raziel to come with her. She didn't even bother looking to see if he followed, walking up to the office. "Hello, I'm Contessa. My brother and I are looking for an apartment to share. Do you still have openings?" She was polite, but direct, not wasting time with small-talk. She was never one for beating around the bush.
Raziel rolled his eyes when his sister signaled him to follow her like a dog. With a sigh, he stood up and followed her to the office, looking in on the person that was there. Since Contessa was doing the talking, he set himself to his specialty; people-watching. His eyes traveled around the lobby, observing the other occupants and their mannerisms. It was, indeed, a unique mix. He couldn't help himself from listening in on the conversations of others, taking such opportunities to learn things about people that most wouldn't even think of.

So, you're a shape shifter? Kimura asked, wondering if he should even bring up the other's sexuality. That's pretty cool. But what kind of places did you live in previously that didn't accept something like that?

Markus grimaced. "There are tons of places around that have very few magic users. Or many of them had bad experiences with magical beings. I seem to be cursed with the luck of always living in these places. Sorry if I made you uncomfortable before. I usually try to get that out of the way as fast as possible. That way, I don't get attached before someone rejects me," Markus finished, offering a weak grin. His memories of those places weren't something he liked to dwell on.

You didn't make me uncomfortable, Kimura replied with a smile. I'm sorry about your luck, though, he went on. Or... lack thereof. This place'll be different I'm sure. I've been sensing magic users since I arrived. The boy pushed away from the wall with one of his feet and stretched. You get attached to people easily, then?

Markus shrugged. "It depends on their personalities, I suppose. But now I try not to. I'm glad I chose this place then. Speaking of which, are you a magic user?" he inquired.

Sounee... he started, scratching the back of his neck. Sort of. I'm not that great with them. My mom says I'm good at sensing things and destruction. Otherwise, she says I'm really not that great with anything else. Kimura looked to Markus with a nod, letting his arm fall to his side. Do you have any abilities besides shape shifting?
