Koko's gaze drifted to Zed's metal arm, a product of her brilliance & creativity with machinery. While she was proud of it & knew the pilot liked having it, she still felt guilty for the danger she'd placed them in on that ship. It was at this moment that Finn mentioned how the pilot must 'really love her', it made the mercenary turn her attention back to the greying man, not really knowing how to respond. Not that she had to as it turned out, since she felt a light touch on her shoulders, making her look up into the colourless eyes of the man who'd raised her. She wasn't daunted by their lack of colour, rather it made her appreciate how long he must have lived & how much he must have experienced.
She couldn't help a small blush creeping onto her face at being told she was beautiful; "If you were 67,000 years younger you'd... what?" After a brief pause she punched the ancient man lightly on his arm, apparently unconcerned by his revelation that he was over 67,000 years old - that was probably one of the least strange things that had happened in the past few hours. "Oh Finn, ya don't look a day over 35! I bet that's helped ya with the ladies, am I right? Even tryin' it on me like that, ya haven't changed much have ya?" There was a smirk plastered on the woman's face & a definite note of laughter in her voice. Once she had gotten to a certain age, she had often engaged in 'flirting wars' with Finn, the activity was fun for both parties, contributing highly to their bonding, though it never led to anything. There were a few times when the pair had gotten very close to one another (at one point literally an inch or so) but would always be interrupted by something or another. It was strange though, after Finn's disappearance she had never been comfortable around any man again - she was even still a little bit prone to embarrassment around Zed - even the mere mention of something intimate or sexual would lead to her going red-faced. Now, looking into the once icy blue eyes of the mercenary she'd loved & lost, she didn't feel embarrassed at all. She simply smiled at Finn's mention of Zed being lucky.
The female mercenary wanted badly to talk to Finn about all that had happened to him - that she didn't already know about from her recently re-acquired memories - but she also knew that their time must be limited & was afraid to ask him how long they had together. Though she felt an overwhelming warmth from his presence, there was also a deep, growing sadness from the knowledge that she was soon going to lose him again... probably forever. She gently ran her hands along the man's arms & shoulders, rubbing them lightly while continuing to look at him. She still couldn't quite believe that she was able to actually touch him, it was like a dream.

Jackals cold eyes remained focused on the Commander as he continued to talk, it had all been going so well, and now suddenly the mercenary was beginning to regret every decision that had brought him here, the plan to swindle a military, the kidnapping, f**k, even being on that bandit ship. It had all gone wrong. "And now Mr. Jackal, this is where you come into things. I understand that our original deal was for you to bring us the mercenary, Koko. Well known for being genetically modified and enhanced, the original plan was to take her back here and find the source of her," his brow furrowed slightly and his large hand twirled in the air as he searched for the right word. "Abilities. Now, as was your perogative, the girl was never delivered." Starr paused and seethed for a moment upon reminiscing of the raiders deceit, staring into Jackals eyes for a moment with pure hatred. The mercenary matched his loathsome leer with equal intensity. "We were lied to-" "Now you listen to me you b*****d!" Jackal cut over the loud Texan voice. He'd heard enough, either they were going to kill him or they weren't, it was as simple as that, he was finished entertaining the military man's egocentric dramatics. "Cut to the chase, 'cause I've had enough of this." Johnathan Starr sighed at the interruption, fighting hard to compose himself. His slightly slackened mouth once again pressed into its tight-lipped smirk. "I was just getting to that. Now, as I've explained, my dilemma is that my soldiers in their current state will not last against the groups of hardened mercenaries used to defend the urbanized areas of Ares, myself and my associates were hoping that we could study the girls body and use the knowledge gained to impart the same abilities that make Kobrayasha so formidable onto my men." Now it was Jackals turn to smirk, "Well, that plans pretty ******** now innit mate? She's probably halfway across Ares by now, good luck catching her." The Commander smiled contentedly to himself. "We may not have her, but we do have you, Jackal." He raised his hand to silence the raiders attempts at interruption. "You see, my researchers have recently been experimenting with nano-bots, or nanites, whatever you know them to be called." Jackals eyes widened minutely as the man spoke, he didn't like where this was going. "My men are very good, brilliant some would say, and they recently came up with an ingenious little microscopic creation. When introduced to the human body these nano-bots replace and repair damaged cells, support and reinforce healthy cells, and stimulate regeneration in the body." Jackals head began to throb, this was far too much to take in, he couldn't understand, none of it made any sense. "Now, the effects on the host are incredible, as you can imagine. They increase strength, stamina, and most of all fortitude. Theoretically a man under the effects of these nanites would be able to run faster and for more prolonged periods of time than a trained athlete. Easily throw a man twice his size. Shrug off wounds that would near kill another man." Jackal tensed his bound body, beginning to feel numb as a large sadistic grin spread across Starr's face, his eyes lighting up with brilliance and insanity. "Ultimately, he would be the ultimate soldier, a killing machine." The raider watched in silence as the Commander held his hands up, sighing melancholy. "Unfortunately, the test subjects so far have proven... Disappointing. Their bodies unable to handle the stress of the prototype nanotechnology introduced to their frail systems." Jackal uttered a string of curses as everything became clear, he was beginning to feel slightly nauseous, partially from the chemically taste in the air, and partially from the slow realisation that he probably wasn't going to leave the compound alive. "However, I hope that given your history you won't end up such a disappointment. Maybe your body will endure, maybe you will survive the testing process. Maybe you will give birth to the formulae for our victory." Johnathan Starr stepped away from the operating table to reveal the doctor Jackal had seen earlier standing in the doorway, the young man had a tranquil smile on his face as he approached the table, a large metal syringe held in both hands. Jackals face contorted with fear and rage, his lips pulling back over his teeth as he began to thrash wildly, screaming pleas and curses in equal measure at the two men. The Commanders eyes gleamed almost lustfully as the syringe neared the raiders toned, scarred arm...

Once Dimitri was asleep a doctor came over to Thane and Lance. "Your friend has been sedated and we will begin treating him as soon as possible. Uhm...This make take a while so it might be advisable if you came back later..Mr..?" Thane coughed directing the attention to himself, seeing as he was the one actually living around here. "Solomon. Thane Solomon. I work for Aria." The doctor gave Thane a brief smile, jotting his name down on his clipboard. "From the delivery service, yes? I'll make sure you'll be informed when your friend wakes up." Thane nodded and gestured to Lance to follow him.
"I..uhh...guess I could show you around while we wait, huh?" He ran a hand through his dark hair, glancing at Lance. He didn't look any different since the day they boarded the sleeper ship. Maybe a tad more stressed though? He smiled gently and walked towards the entrance of the hospital. There was a awkward moment of silence between the two before Thane spoke. He didn't look at the other man, but instead looked forwards, hands in his pockets. "It's uhh...been a long time Lance...Five years." Thane paused gently tracing the scars on his lip with his working hand. He still didn't like using his prosthetic arm very much, even after all this time. "Five years. I...I didn't think I'd see you again to be honest. Truth be told this is still rather...odd."

"If I were 67,000 years younger," He leant in towards Koko, mirroring her smirk, which she'd probably learned from him at some point."I'd of asked you if you'd like to go for a drink sometime, though," Their eyes met once again, this time Aleksander simply winked and nodded to point out a simple golden ring on one of his fingers. "Married man now I'm afraid... You remember Lillith, right?"
He stepped back from the female mercenary, sliding his hands down from her shoulders to take one of her hands for a moment before gently letting it go."Anyway, I'm sure you've got thousands of questions for me, so let me answer a few of the more obvious ones first as to not waste what little time we may have."
The dead, ancient man scratched his stubble then placed his hands behind his back and inhaled deeply, as if he were about to deliver a well-rehearsed speech, which was more or less what he was about to do. "I left because I missed the Earth, the rock I was born on, called home for 11 years of my life... at the time I didn't know that if I hadn't gone you'd never of even existed." He paused, but not for long enough for Koko to respond to anything, he seemed to be rushing, as the amount of time he had remaining in this world decreased by the second. "I didn't come back was because my ship broke down on the return trip to Ares, a time-lag overload, something I'm sure Zed can explain to you, which imploded my ship and threw me back in time about 10,000 years before you even existed... It also preserved my devilishly good looks as time seemed to lose it's grip on me." Alek exhaled loudly and crossed his arms in front of him, looking back up at Koko as he slowed back down again.
"What else would you like to know, little one?"

Jackals entire body tensed as the thick needle pierced his rough skin, his dilated eyes rolling backwards as the young male doctor pushed down hard on the metal plunger. Leaning forwards earnestly the pretty female doctor quickly began making notes of the raiders reactions on her clipboard. Jackals body suddenly fell limp to the operating table, a thin strand of saliva hanging from the corner of his slackened lips. The heart-rate monitor showed no life signs, emitting a long unbroken tone. The Commanders brow furrowed as he walked briskly across the room to stand beside Jackals limp body. "Well!? Check his pulse goddamn it!" he exclaimed in his thick Texan accent as he leaned towards the mercenary's still form. The young male dropped the now-empty syringe on the tray of medical tools, wiping a few beads of perspiration from his brow before bringing his latex-gloved hand to Jackals wrist. The entire room was still for a few moments, the small passage of time seeming to take hours before the young man pursed his lips, shaking his head minutely. "The machine is right, no life signs sir." Johnathan Starr curled his lip, exhaling loudly through his nose. "A pity, he must have been alot weaker than I anticipated. I expected him to survive to combat testing." The Commander straightened his tie and turned around, heading for the door before he heard the two young doctors gasp and recoil simultaneously as a loud bang echoed through the room and the heart monitor screamed into life. He turned around quickly to find Jackal convulsing horrifically on the table, his head banging against the metal slab, his features strained, and a light froth appearing at the corners of his twitching mouth. A guttural sound emanated from the raiders throat as he strained involuntarily against his leather bonds, the doctors recoiling further as one of his ribs snapped loudly. As quickly as the violent convulsions had started they stopped. The raiders now-bloodshot eyes lay partially open, staring blankly at the ceiling. His breathing was labored but steady, and his hands slowly and jerkily formed into a pair of loose yet strong fists. The two doctors and the Commander stood quite still, momentarily stunned. The only sounds in the room were of the heart monitor and Jackals slow, loud breathing. "Fu... F**k." The battered raider muttered. His thin lips formed an acute smirk, practically unnoticeable. The Commanders dark eyes narrowed slightly. Jackals tired eyes dropped to one of the leather restraints. It had torn away from the metal slab. "You're in f***ing trouble now..."

At the prospect of being asked out for a drink, Koko laughed sweetly, her eyes glinting mischievously. "Oh Finn, if Lilith caught ya talkin' to me like that, she'd have your head. Plus, how'd ya know I'd even go with ya, huh old man? A lovely lookin' girl like myself goin' out with you? Ya aren't lucky enough." The girl stuck her tongue out a little after her last comment. She did indeed remember Lilith, very vividly considering how not long ago she'd retrieved all the memories that had been long buried within her subconscious. She recalled how, while the woman had been very sweet & kind most of the time, if someone did annoy her... then there was hell to pay. She'd never before met someone who could strike fear into someone without them raising their voice at all, if anything her voice would get softer, yet somehow more deadly.
As Finn began to explain why he had left, Koko had opened her mouth a few times as though to say something, but he always continued too fast for her to actually do so. She tried to get her head round the fact that 'if he hadn't left she would never have existed'; it obviously had something to do with the fact that he was both Finn from her time on Ares yet Alek while she'd been on Earth. The man had mentioned how he had gone back in time, so that explained how he was in her past - though she wasn't sure why his name was different, but that didn't matter too much. She also made a note to get Zed to explain to her about the lag-time thing, though that would probably have to wait a while, she figured she'd need to have a sleep after this...
Only when it was apparently that he'd finished talking did the female mercenary open her mouth to speak again. "Preserved your devilishly good looks eh? I think the scars might have somethin' to say about that, looks like they hung around, huh?" She grinned a little before putting a few fingers on her chin, debating what she could ask him; there was too much to ask that was the problem! After a while she sighed & shook her head, pushing a stray strand of hair away from her face (& finally realising that she was only in her night clothes as she did so). She paused, before deciding there wasn't really much she could do about it & raised her gaze to once more look at Finn's face. "There's... too much to ask Finn... I don't really know where to start. & I get the feelin' we don't have all that long... do we?" The girl continued to look at the man's face, searching him for the answer to her question, even though she pretty well already knew what she'd said was right.
Lance looked extremely edgy as he waited to hear news about Dimitri. Upon being told that they should leave, he'd practically stood up to yell obscene things in the other man's face, but he managed to check himself just in time - after all, yelling at them wasn't going to fix Dimitri up any quicker. So he waited as Thane spoke to the chap, then followed his former assistant outside; it was a very peculiar role-reversal, now being shown around by the person he had previously shown around various places. He couldn't help a small grin forming on his face at the thought.
As he walked with Thane & listened to how long he'd been asleep compared to the other man, it made sense that he now looked so different. It was going to take a little getting used to but, heck, hadn't he been through weird things practically all his life? He came up next to Thane & slapped the still-younger man on his back, "Well I'm here now lad aren't I? & I don't plan on going anywhere any time soon. Come on, let's have this tour, if I'm going to be living here, I'd like to know my way around."

For a heartbeat the room was completely still, the Commanders mouth hanging open as his grey eyes fell on the torn piece of leather. In a second his hand had dropped beneath his jacket to his shoulder-strap holster, producing a small snub-nosed revolver which he quickly leveled at the naked raider, unloading the entire cylinder of its .38 rounds in less than 5 seconds. Simultaneously, Jackal had grabbed the young male doctor by his lab-coat and dragged him onto the operating table, using him as a human-shield to protect his naked form. Screaming, the doctors body shuddered as thick bullets tore through his abdomen, Jackal growling behind him as he struggled with the last of his restraints. Johnathan Starr panicked and dropped his gun, pushing the young girl aside as he made for the door, locking it behind him for good measure just as Jackal leaped from the operating table and launched himself at the pretty doctor. The girls scream of terror was cut short as the raider closed his powerful hand around her slender throat, lifting her clean off of the floor as he began to crush her windpipe. The girls hands pried at the raiders powerful fist, and her legs flailed ineffectually against his toned chest. As the girl began to turn purple, Jackal smirked, catching her bloodshot, tear-filled eyes. "I warned you, didn't I?" As the body held in his closed fist fell limp, and Jackal watched the life fade from her eyes, he unceremoniously let the lifeless form crumple in a heap on the laminate floor, his cold eyes briefly searched the room for the Commander before he realised the man had already retreated, locking the door on his way out. Instead his eyes drifted from the bullet-riddled young man to the dead body of the oxygen-starved woman. The current body count was two. Pfft, Amateur. It would have to improve...

"Ah, there is far too much to tell my dear... But time is not an issue." He stepped over towards Zed and his sword, looking back at the woman that he'd mentored in all skills combat, survival and self-defense. "It really is good to see you alive Koko." The sword appeared to glow slightly as he approached, it's tarnished blade appearing to become polished and sharp once again, revealing it's golden sheen. He looked down at it for a moment, he hadn't seen it do that for a long time.
Aleksander's gaze swept over both Koko and Zed, in his extraordinarily long life, he had acquired the ability to tell almost everything about somebody simply by they way they look, talk and carry themselves, it was a great party-trick that he'd used many times, often for his own amusement, or for alienating his foes... or friends, depending on what kind of mood he was in. "Still just an innocent little flower eh Koko?" There was no way he'd want her to look back on their final meeting as a sentimental or sad event, he wanted to be remembered as he was, final impressions just as the first.
Before what he'd said had fully sunk in, he darted over beside Koko, at a speed similar to her own, speaking into her ear with a huge grin plastered across his face. "What do you guys do for fun anyways? Board games?" He laughed, fully aware that either another slap or punch was heading his way, which he was also fully aware that he deserved.

Dimitri had made it through surgery...just. He had been wheeled back onto the ward and was slowly waking from his anesthetic. A short while later, he was laying in his bed, watching the reception desk from behind a partially closed dusky blue curtain. Tilting his head, he studied the white lump of bandages wrapped around his elbow. When he had woken, a nurse had came and told him that although he managed to stop the visible poison, small traces of it still travelled up his arm. They rotted the flesh inside, albeit more slowly, but they had to take the arm off at the elbow as opposed to the wrist. She had said that a plastic surgeon would be along to discuss reconstructive surgery. She had also said that he had "Done a darn good job at tearing that hand off," and told him he needed a hair cut or something.
Looking up from his hand, he spotted a young delivery girl with hair almost as dark as his worn in small pigtails above her ears. She was quite young, around 12 or 13, and had small dark freckles dashed across her cheeks and nose; a pretty little thing. Dimitri smiled, marvelling at how similar she was to his little girl. He hadn't seen her since they got on the ship. He hadn't seen his wife either. Or his sister in law...so many people lost. He figured that they just woke up before him or something. He watched her hand over a package and smiled softly at her as she glanced at him.
Abigail grinned ear to ear, having completed another successful delivery. As she turned to leave, she spotted a man with long black hair on a bed, watching her. Being friendly and naive, she wandered over to him and stood by his bed. "Hello sir!" she greeted, "What happened to you?"
"Accident with some silly rabid things, nothing for you to worry about little one," he answered.
"You lost your arm?" Abigail asked. "Yeah...sucks huh?" "Well...your still alive right?"
Dimitri thought about this. How can such a young girl be so much more mature than he is? "Your right..." "I know...my Aria tells me so. It's better to have lost something but kept your life, than kept something but lost your life! I'm Abbie...Abigail, what's your name" "Abigail?" that name rung a bell..."Abigail, what a pretty name. My name is Dimitri,"
Abigail stood stunned. Could this be him? Aria had mentioned him, but Abigail was told he was dead...Swivelling her foot slightly with her hands behind her back, Abigail mumbled something under her breath.
"'Scuse me Abbie?" "Are....are you...
Daddy?"
(Kinda ruined her purpose but heey~)

"It's good to see ya too Finn..." the girl murmured. She wasn't really sure she could say 'alive' since she wasn't particularly sure that he was. She could touch him sure, but after all the weird stuff that had happened lately, it wasn't too much of a stretch of the imagination that he might actually be dead yet somehow appearing to them. As she tracked his movements closer to the sword, her mind began to wander, thinking about their many past exploits, thus she didn't really register what he said at first.
Koko had been about to reply to Finn's 'innocent flower' comment when he darted over to her, she was briefly surprised at the speed of his movement before the meaning of his statements sunk in. In an instant the mercenary's face went scarlet as her gaze inadvertently shifted to Zed. Not even half a second later she'd punched Finn in the jaw - her punches were definitely not something to be taken lightly, she'd once shattered a man's jaw with a single hit - & glared at him, still blushing profusely. "You dare say anythin' about my sex life?" Or rather lack of. "YOU ABSOLUTE a*****e! Just because you were some kinda manwhore does not mean I'll follow suit!" After her outburst, Koko put a hand over her mouth, surprised at herself for what she'd said. It was definitely a touchy subject for her - being a 220 year old virgin wasn't exactly something she was happy about.
With her face still red the mercenary turned away from Finn & crossed her arms over her chest, refusing to look at him. She knew he'd just been messing around, but she didn't like getting embarrassed. She hoped her punch had hurt him - though since he was technically dead that might not be the case - but also half-knew that the reason he was acting this way was so that she wouldn't feel too upset when he eventually had to leave. Though, being able to see him again & learning the reason for his departure (as well as retrieving her hidden memories) had filled some of the gaping hole that had been rending in her soul from his leaving. It was a form of closure, finally allowing the girl to heal, to begin to move on.

Jackal inhaled deeply before slamming his broad shoulder into the door. With what felt like no resistance, the iron lock shattered under the pressure, and the door swung open quickly, coming to rest crookedly on its ruined hinges as the raider stepped out of the room. Feeling a bullet fly past his left ear, Jackal's head instinctively turned to the source of the lethal projectile. Towards the end of the corridor, a pair of armed guards stood confidently with their 9mm pistols leveled at him. Snarling, he began to sprint towards them, zig-zagging unpredictably so as to avoid most of the gunfire. Two bullets grazed him, one on his thigh, the other across his neck, and one red hot piece of metal lodged itself in his gut. Jackal barely noticed the grazes, they were unimportant, but when he felt the slug tear into his belly he panicked momentarily. Indeed it was a wound that would stop most in their tracks, but Jackal was shocked to find himself merely unbalanced slightly, recovering completely after checking his pace, his body screaming at him to carry on running. It f***ing hurt, but taking a bullet is never gunna' to be a picnic, he reminded himself harshly. Aside from the pain, he felt alright, f**k it, he felt great! Nothin' like taking a bullet to get the old adrenaline pumpin', he reminisced as he grabbed the first guards wrist, breaking it in three places before grabbing his pistol.

Alek spun 180degrees on the spot, recoiling from the punch which probably would of cost any living man most of their teeth as well as the ability to eat solid food for at least six months. He vanished and re-appeared in front of Koko, reclining in the long grass with a smirk on his lips. "I deserved that... and for the record, It's ladies man, not man-whore... No money involved." Winking, he rubbed his jaw where he'd been hit, apparently even in death he could still feel Koko's punch, which was often likened to being struck by lightning. "...that was a pretty damn good punch girl. I'm impressed. I guess you were taught by the best though..."
Zed, who had been watching events unfold, heard the comments the dead man had made and was subsequently punched for. A moment later, the same dead man was stood beside him, one of his eyebrows raised. "What?" Aleksander re-appeared beside Koko, placing a hand on her back to comfort her, though he was ready to dodge any more punches coming his way. "Well, it's a long trip back, anything could happen..."

Koko didn't respond at all to the compliment about her punch, though inwardly she was glowing at the praise, knowing from experience that Finn didn't give it lightly. She kept her arms folded & her gaze down at the floor, feeling the heat from her face begin to recede. Since she wasn't paying too much attention to the others, she was a little surprised at the feel of a hand being lain on her back. While Finn spoke, she didn't move or interrupt him, but a heartbeat after he'd finished the female mercenary was suddenly facing him, having grabbed his collar with one hand in less time than it took a person to blink. Her other hand was drawn back, ready to punch the man again, the fist a dangerous reminder of the power the girl held. For a tense moment Koko held the ancient man in front of her - the fierce intensity of her gaze only made more so by the piercing blue of her eyes - but eventually she sighed & released him, dropping her fist. "God dammit Finn. Shoulda known ya wouldn't have changed, but I'd appreciate ya stayin' out of my personal business." She shook her head a little, placing her palm against her face, "Unfortunately I just can't bring myself to be mad at ya for very long.."
When she moved her hand away from her face, Koko had a slight look of confusion upon her features. She shifted her gaze up to Finn, "Hey, wait a minute... why's it gunna be a long trip back? Took us barely any time at all to get 'ere. How long we talkin' 'bout?" She knew the Aiolos wasn't at her best right now, but the mercenary wondered what constituted as a 'long trip back', did he mean days, weeks, even years? She shuddered ever so slightly at the thought; while she loved the Aiolos, the thought of being cooped up inside it for weeks or even years wasn't something she was looking forward to. She loved being outside, out in the wide open spaces of Ares (while she liked the vast green of Earth, she belonged in the deserts of Ares) not shut up within the bowls of a ship. She'd go stir-crazy.

The guard's face contorted with pain as he felt his wrist snap, managing to fire one useless shot before the test subject wrested the gun from his limp fingers, elbowing him sharply in the bridge of the nose as he did so, the force knocking his front teeth out, breaking his nose and swelling his brow slightly. Jackal snapped around from the elbow, swiping the butt of the 9mm across the remaining soldiers left temple, the blow accented by a loud crack! as the man crumpled to the floor. Jackals cold eyes rested on the two men writhing in agony, unblinking as he shot each of them once through the belly, and once through the neck, "Just to be sure." He murmured. He had briefly contemplated just shooting them both in the skull and being done with it. "F**k that", he spat. He wanted them dead, but there was no need to rush things. He crouched down to pick up the remaining pistol, giving it a quick once-over. Ejecting the clip of each gun, he checked his remaining ammo. Six in the first, seven in the other. Thirteen shots altogether. Jackal snorted a laugh. "I doubt I'll even need the second gun."

Zed stepped beside the dead man and answered Koko's question before he could speak. "Just a little time-lag... I won't go into the details, but to fly the Aiolos from Ares to here, the drive core folds the fabric of space-time, allowing us to cross the gap rather than take the long route, so we could effectively skip from A to B. That's pretty much how the infinite acceleration drive works, well, that's the simplest way of saying it at least... It's much more complicated really, involving things like 'non-reality' and other quantum nonsense..." The pilot wanted to make it clear that he knew his s**t when it came to the inner workings of his ship, he could talk about it for hours, but for the sake of everyone's sanity, he'd rather not. "But when we shot from Ares to here in less than 5 minutes, which is probably the fastest anything has ever been ever, we caused the fabric of space-time to bunch up rather than neatly fold as it normally does."
The ancient man interrupted the pilot, after having turned around while he was talking. He spoke with his back turned to the others, looking over at the Aiolos, which Zed had landed nearby. "So, basically the fabric of time and space needs a little time to dust itself off after that thrashing you two gave it, so the return trip will take about... Two weeks? If you're lucky that is." He looked over his shoulder at Zed for confirmation, who returned a nod.
"But only for those within the ship... So for us it'll be a two week trip, for the rest of reality... Hmm, maybe an hour?" The pilot rubbed his chin, looking at Koko for a moment and contemplating telling her that he thought she looked cute when she blushed, though he figured he'd have plenty of time to tell her that on the return trip to Ares. "I'm sure we'll manage, time will be a little distorted for the first and last day though... Last time this happened to me, I couldn't even remember the first or last day for some reason... Nothing to worry about though." He smiled innocently, seemingly unaware of any distress he may or may not have caused.
Alek turned around, still in the mood for a little teasing, though he was starting to feel a tad sentimental. He figured that being dead was no excuse not to have a little bit of fun, they couldn't exactly do him any harm. He lightly placed his hand on Zed's shoulder and moved him over to beside Koko before stepping back to stand opposite them both, as if he was posing them together for a photograph.
Zed placed one arm around Koko's waist, letting his hand rest above her hip as they both eyed the ancient man with curiosity and suspicion as to what he was doing.
"As I said, anything could happen."
