[Demyx : LoD : Fireworks Yard]

Demyx was really confused, and would of been just a tiny bit scared, if he could feel. Though he did go into hiding behind Leon when the creepy silver haired man with the sword that looked like it could kill them all in one swing. Personally he would of ran if he could of retreated if the exits didn't have a barrier up.

The crazy silver haired man, the Earthlings and others were calling Sephiroth, then cut not one, but two of the people. This was just dangerous.

'Wait... Of course, duh why didn't I think of that?' Demyx hit his gloved hand to his forehead.

"Uh... You guys can take care of this. And I'll meet you back at the ship." The Nobody shouted to the group as he opened a dark portal behind himself and vanished from the sight of the Earthlings.

[Amy ; John : Land of Dragons : Fireworks Yard]

John stopped dragging Amy along the moment the fight started. The sound of ringing metal was his first clue that Sephiroth had even moved, and unsure of what had just happened, he stopped entirely, holding Amy back from moving as well.

She muttered something along the lines of him making up his mind. Her words were cut short when she realized, finally, that Sephiroth had attacked. Not only that, but everyone was exploding into action. Like a deer in the headlights, she stood and watched, unsure of what to do, and certainly not wanting to get in the way.

(I'm taking a lot of liberty with John, it seems. XD I just don't want him to be all 'dur, I'm following along, Sephiroth is here, har har'. His character might not be entirely accurate, as I am certainly not him, and really have no clue what he would do in this situation.)

[Sephiroth ; Cloud : LoD : Fireworks Yard]

After the initial strike at Kichi, Sephiroth moved forward for another hit. Despite how long his sword was, Kichi had been forced back beyond its reach. His movement was halted, however, by Cloud coming back in, striking once, twice, three times, before Sephiroth once again broke the engagement.

Cloud skidded back. Sephiroth wasn't going to engage him directly, that much was made obvious by how he kept pushing Cloud back instead of attacking him full on. He was aiming for the kids...

"Can you protect them, Cloud?" he addressed those in front of him next, taunting, "Can they protect themselves?"
Another of the group stood in his way, making it clear that if he wanted to get to Kichi, he'd have to come through him first. Sephiroth was more than happy to oblige.

He paused to reconsider. Destroy the light giver. It was a basic desire. The first strike had failed to destroy him, and now the light, far from being dimmed, seemed to just burn brighter. Now he had two obstacles in his way– Alan and Kyla –and Cloud would be on him in mere moments.

Sephiroth was no novice. Battles rarely went according to plan. He could have walked right through Alan's and Kyla's attacks, but instead blocked with several swings of his sword (a blur of movement), moving a bit away from the two as he did so. Kichi was not the only one to offer light. There was another, originally, and Sephiroth noted with disdain that others were joining in.

It started to burn.

Kichi was too much trouble. The other, however... Sephiroth turned to Kyle just as he fired off his attack, the aim obviously to push him back, as it was with all of them. Did they really think he didn't notice the door behind him? Did they really think he wouldn't understand what they were doing? He jumped over Kyle's attack, landing gracefully right in front of him, and struck not once, but several times. Further attacks were stopped by both Seymour's attack, and Cloud coming back. He was very near the door now.

[Nick :: LoD :: Fireworks Yard Rooftop]

The Lanista sighed, seeing Sephiroth dash around made it near impossible for the blonde youth to get a shot off. One thing was certain: Sephiroth was a cheap b******. Nick readied his rifle, and jumped in surprise as Seymour shot off a huge magical blast of ice magic and launched "Sephy-kins" towards a randomly appearing door...that had the shape of a lotus. Odd.

But something had caught his eye. Something more important than his dark master's amazing black magic skills. Sephiroth had stopped moving. Just for a long enough moment, and Nick knew went to capitalize on oppertune moments. He aimed his rifle, and released a blast of magical energy to hopefully snipe the One-Winged Angel and maybe save his 'allies'.

Or blow a hole through Sephiroth's skull. He wasn't picky.

{Kyle : LoD : Fireworks Yard}

As he watched Sephiroth jump over his spikes, Kyle's thoughts took a small diversion from the battle. I need a new attack. Everyone just f****** jumps over it!

Is this really the time to be thinking of this? We'll work on new attacks later! GUARD YOU IDIOT!

WELL AWARE Of THAT! The nice thing about having an internal voice, was that it took mere seconds to convey what he needed to say. Therefore, he finished his conversation with Midgardsormr while Sephiroth was still in midair. Instantly ducking down, he quickly stabbed his katars into the earth, pulling them out quickly to reveal that the earth had coated over the blades, enlarging them by almost a foot in length and width.

Holding the, considerably heavier, blades up in front of him in an X shape, Kyle watched as Sephiroth began his assault. Well, not really watched. He couldn't see the attacks. All he knew was that his stone katars were annihilated by the attack, worn down by the second strike. The strikes after cut him numerous times. Both arms, as well as both legs were cut, but his chest remained safe. Luckily, so did his face.

Stupid SOB! Kyle was quite angry at the bugger. While it might have been stupid, Kyle rushed at Sephiroth when he saw Cloud coming back. If he could get close without getting pushed back, he would attempt a variety of thrusts with his katars, no slashes, just pure thrusts around Sephiroth's chest. If he got pushed back, he would probably be in quite a bit of pain.

[Sephiroth ; Cloud : LoD : Fireworks Yard]

Quickly now! Cloud knew Sephiroth well, more than he cared to admit, and understood especially well his movements in battle. There were stages with Sephiroth, as there were with all well seasoned combatants, and at the moment the swordsman was at his most basic stage.

If it went past that stage, they might never be able to push Sephiroth through that door. All Cloud wanted was to get him out of the city, and well away from attacking the kids.

He had his sword locked against Sephiroth's now, a test of strength as the two stopped trading blows long enough to actually stand still, their eyes locked as they struggled. Sephiroth had that infuriating look on his face, like he was fighting someone much weaker. They were both very near the door. Just a push, a simple push, would get him through.

Sephiroth smiled knowingly.

And then, the blast. It would have knocked one of the Earthlings off their feet, at least, perhaps even make them bleed. When the bullet reached Sephiroth, however, it simply exploded in a puff of darkness about six inches from his head, as if it had hit an impenetrable barrier invisible to the naked eye. Sephiroth took his eyes off of Cloud, still locking blades, to stare at the shooter.

A disturbance in the air behind Nich might draw his attention. While technically outside of the barrier, Nich might still flee; that, however, did not stop Sephiroth from being able to attack him. The distance was not so great he could not activate Stigma. It was a single pillar of flame, directly behind Nich, starting out small, but quickly becoming a gigantic thing stretching high into the sky. Nich would feel the tug instantly, as it began to suck in all matter around it. Similar pillars threatened to appear around the field, small at first...

Cloud stopped it. It had happened several times in the past when fighting Sephiroth. A sudden surge of strength would come over him, a denial of everything Sephiroth was doing. He pushed for all he was worth, and Kyle was right there, adding his attacks to it. Sephiroth did not look pleased as he was forced through the door.

Then again, he wasn't the only one to go. Cloud and Kyle, too fully engaged, followed right through.

The pillars of flame, most only partial created, disappeared in an instant, their source now far away from the area.

[Kyla: LoD: Imperial city>Fireworks yard]

She had to trust everyone to push Sephiroth; to fight him until he fell through while she concentrated on keeping the door open.
Focusing her mana drain, the pictomancer tried to keep ti flowing in a steady pace. Kyla did her best to keep the door wide open, long enough so they had plenty of time to expell Sephiroth, and follow after him.

It was hard to watch.
Kichi, Kyle, Nick, Cloud - and Seymour! they were putting up a valiant fight. She wanted to fight too, she hated just standing there with her book aloft- but the only spells she could spare would do absolutely nothing!
She'd have to conjure something no less then a limit break in order to deliver a meaningful blow. And she couldnt' afford to use such an attack or rick loosing hold on the door.

So all she could do..was hold on and hope.

Just then small pillars of flame began to appear around the feild, one dangeriously close to her.
"Carbuncle!" she shifted nervously, worry lacing her voice.
" I got it if it gets too close- don't worry aibou."

Kyla had to conciously block the worry out of her mind, and focus on the door, while Cloud and Kyle attacked Sephiroth together.

Then at last, her faith paid off.

Sephiroth fell through with a not too happy look on his face, Cloud and Kyle followed. The pillars vanished, and she sighed a little- but there was another concern.

Her fingers were starting to go numb, and the earthling could almost feel how much mana she had left- it was weird now accurately she was aware of it.
At least half way empty... she wouldn't be able to hold the door for much longer.
"Everyone! Go! Hurry Please!" Kyla warned them.

{James : HT/BC : Outside of Train}

James continued to stand against the train, basking in the moonlight. Enjoying the light of it's rays as it shined down upon him, causing the snow on the ground to have a slight glowing effect. Relaxing outside in the fresh air had always helped the corsair calm his mind in the past, and he was glad that it still applied in this world. Reflexively he raised a hand up to his mouth to stifle a yawn. A pretty good sign in his eyes that it was time to go back inside. He thought he could feel the Lunar Energy flowing through him, a strange sensation he felt a comfortable coolness running throughout his entire body... as if the energy and the light was cold. Despite this new sensation and feeling of magical energy, physically he was spent and he knew it... He needed to rest.

'Bet you're enjoying the moon light aren't you?'

He could feel it in his head, a silent nod as Fenrir, the Lunar Wolf agreed. Yet another strange sensation, with his eyes closed, the corsair thought he saw in his mind's eye the motion. As if the wolf had been standing right in front of him.

"The elements you absorb effect me too... Don't forget that."

James nodded his head in understanding as he made his way back into the train, making sure to pull closed the stable ramp as he walked back in. walking into his room as quietly as he had left it. He would now try to get to sleep again...

{Leon : Land of Dragons : Fireworks Yard}

Leon watched as the darkness that filled the yard formed into the being known to apparently all of them as Sephiroth. He remembered Cloud mentioning this man from time to time. Someone that he hated, and yet seemed to obsess about, saying he had to defeat him. It seemed the kids were determined to help Cloud defeat him for good. It seemed Sephiroth didn't approve of that idea though and began to strike at the kids. Leon tried to jump in the fray, but every time he tried the masamune wielder's long blade would stave him off. He noted that the man was close to a door as he pressed the attack. However, before it could go through Cloud managed to force Sephiroth through the door. However, Kyle and Cloud also followed...

"Cloud no!"

Leon yelled as they disappeared, the flames that had been about to form had disappeared and it seemed as though Kyla wanted them all to get away.

"Let's get out of here now!"

[Jenny :: Sleeping Car]

Jenny ran her towel through her wet tresses as she stepped from the shower. It was refreshing, even if the magical clothes kept her clean... it was nice to have the time to think with the rushing sounds of water around her.

~"One would think that you would have learned to swim by now..." Siren half mused with a hint of teasing.

The flutist sighed in relief at her summon's soft, musical voice as it drifted through her mind, interrupting any other thoughts she might have had. Jenny smiled in response as she made her way through the Sleeping Car, careful not to intrude on any of the rooms that she could hear heartsongs from. The mage peeked through to an empty room, stood there for several seconds before leaving the Sleeping Car altogether. No matter how tired she was, Jenny felt like she wouldn't be able to sleep in her bed, not when she knew that Rae's room was just a farther bit down and now Jenny craved company.

Stepping through to the Stable Car, Jenny made her way to Tobias' stable before wrapping her arms around the chocobo and burying her head in his soft feathers. "Mind if I spend the night with you? I don't think I can stand being alone," the brown hair teen murmured into Tobias' plumage to which the giant bird merely clicked his beak and nuzzled in response.

[Nick :: LoD :: Fireworks Yard Rooftops]

Nick couldn't think as the magical fire burned him what seemed to be his very core. All he could hear was screaming. His screaming. Even with Chaos' power and the clothes he provided, Sephiroth's magic was painful. He let out a roar of pain, yet...

As soon as it happened, it stopped. Nick let out a sigh of relief, but looked towards the main courtyard. Sephiroth's spell had been interrupted by Cloud, the two men as well as one of the Earthlings disappearing through the door. His vision was somewhat foggy, and only then he understood that he was crying. Not from the pain, but from the shock. He could have been killed. Sephiroth was this powerful fighting off a whole group...What possible chance would he had have if in a one-on-one battle?

The Lanista slowly got to his feet, swaying this way and that as his legs wobbled to support his weight. He used his wind magic to get him down from the rooftop, and began his seemingly long trek towards the group. He couldn't help but laugh at the situation, however. Sephiroth had power that made Seymour look like a chump in comparison. If he wanted to be all-powerful, Nick thought, he would have to become stronger. Fear inspiring. An over-powered monster who shrugs off the most powerful spells as a joke. The Lanista slumped to his knees in front of Seymour, and a low chuckle echoed from his throat only in range of the Maester.

[Alan :: LoD :: Fireworks Yard]

Alan glanced over his shoulder back at Jon. "Are you alright?" He hadn't really had a chance to see the extent of his friend's injuries. He knew time was limited, but he wasn't about to leave without checking on Jon first. Hopefully this would only take a second.

If Alan was relieved at the now non-immediate nature of the Sephiroth threat, or if he was dreading stepping through that door, it didn't show much. He was mostly still obviously fuming with a kind of low-key, smoldering anger. Yes, he was afraid. Yes, he resented Sephiroth's unfair strength. But he really didn't have time to think about either of those things at the moment.

[[Riku : LoD : Fireworks Yard]]

The silver haired keyblader had done little movements towards the fight. With so many attacks flying in at once at a single target, anymore in the fray would have been hazardous. Part of him cursed the fact Kyle had run in blindly and even worse was now beyond his ability to protect through the door, but he trusted Cloud enough to not let anything happen to him. For now, he had a more pressing matter, Kyla was faltering.

He ran over to her and placed a reassuring hand on her back and shoulder, "Don't worry." He said as he closed his eyes, "You concentrate on keeping that door open till we're all through. I'll stay by your side and give you the strength to keep going." Immediately after saying so, a mix of light and dark streams flowed off of him and into Kyla's body. She would feel a surge of strength equivalent to the keyblader's power, and since Riku had held back the past several fights, he was near full strength still.

[Kyla: LoD:Firworksyard]

((Stupid thing deleted my post!!*shakes fist*))

' Hurry...please. I- I can't hold it forever, not forever...'

Out of all her abilities, her attacks, her tricks... this one power demanded the most- if not ALL of her mana. And once it ran out, she would have nothing left. If for some reason it did still held, it would most likely start drawing perhaps on more vital things!

Every other time she used it, Kyla opened the door for brief most vital moments in time. So the duration wasn't very long- and even then it would sap everything she had.
When she looked back on it, it looked so pathetic. The nobodies made it look so easy!
She wanted to be stronger. She needed to be stronger.

Concentrate- ugh- hearing her teammates scream around her wasn't helping! She could feel the numbness spreding into her fingers from the tips...
Kyle and Cloud had both followed Sephiroth through the door. They couldn't take him alone!

NO! Focus. The pressure was getting to her. How pathetic, she was getting nervous now, and the fight had just begun! This was all her fault too! She didn't leave, she convinced them to linger, this was all her fault! All her fault!
If something happened to Kyle, Kichi, Alan, Amy, Cloud... everyone.. She would only have her self to blame!!

' I promised Kyle when we parted, that I would protect them...

It was then that she felt something grip her shoulder, and rest at the small of her back. There was an unmistakable voice, but she dare not look at him and loose eye contact with the door. ' Riku?'

He told her not to worry. He told her to keep her concentration... and he'd give her strength. That he'd stay by her side.

She had never heard someone real say that to her before! Those words held real significance to her...
Because she had always secretly wanted someone to say them to her, for a long long time.
A friend, a family member, anybody... and to mean them!
Those meaningful words.
How long had she been waiting to hear them in real life? Tyue was the only one who said those words.
Now, out of all people and times to do it- why did she hear them now?!

A sentence she'd been waiting to hear.
The promise of trust.

Kyla felt a surge of energy come back into her body. It delved deep, then bubbled back up, like it was filling her right to the bounderies of her skin. The distinct sensation of light and dark together in harmony. This was Riku's power.
Soon she could feel her fingers again!
Her senses sharpened and she felt so much better.. she could do it!
Surely...

There was no telling how long Riku could keep this up- he wasn't a magic user like her, but every little bit helps. Besides... It was the encouragment, those words of trust, those words did a magic of their own!
They kindled the girl's heart and swept the self hatred aside once more.
Kyla felt like she could hold that door open forever!
If one could remember, it would appear in times past, Kyla had reacted this way before to things other people had said.
Could there be a connection?

The door's outline would transform, it looked re-enforced now by gold threading, much stronger looking then before.
"Thank you Riku."

[ Seymour : Forbidden City : Fireworks Yard -> Land of Dragons : Outside the Red Rose ]

"Everyone, through the portal, quickly," Seymour 'ordered', though he didn't seem too rushed or worried. Quite the contrary, it seemed almost as if he was pleased that things had turned out this way. And why not? They'd managed to get Sephiroth out of the town, as well as keep everyone together (so long as Kyla could hold up this interesting portal of hers).

As Nicholas landed beside him, his confident smile faltered, if only for the briefest of moments, before one of mild intrigue replaced it.

"Come now, Ivalician, that's surely not all you've got," he said 'reassuringly' before looking around for the others. Maggie, Beatrix, and Yuffie all bounded through the portal, leaving the rest behind; Beatrix had her sword at the ready to strike at Sephiroth the moment she passed through.

There were, however, some stragglers. Amy and John, for instance, had remained back to watch, and Alan was checking up on Jon (though there was something interestingly numb about him).

"The girl cannot hold this for long, you know," Seymour called, a hint (ever so minuscule) of irritation in his voice. "And I doubt Sephiroth will have much trouble with the few that slipped through. Best to hurry, lest you get left behind."

Seymour immediately leapt through the portal in a strangely graceful bound, body-length staff at his side and ready to cast another powerful spell, should he need to.

[Kichi :: LoD :: Fireworks Yard]

Kichi slowly stood as the battle raged. He heard Alan's voice, worried, asking about the wound. Smiling, he showed it. "Just nicked me. Now hurry through!" He spoke louder. "Kyla, keep it up! You're doing great! You too Riku, don't worry about anything but holding it open, I'll get you both through as soon as everyone else is!" He got behind them, and put an arm around each of their waists, in preparation for putting on a burst of speed and a glide to get them through the door. He watched the others go through. 'Only a couple left,' he thought, crouching a little in preparation, and putting his lower arms along their backs for better support, realizing that the acceleration could hurt otherwise.
