So he's not chauvinistic, and neither "chivalrous" as you seem to call it >3> *poke*
EDITTED FOR INETRESTING FACT SHE SUDDENLY THOUGHT OF: I'm pretty sure chivalry comes from the french chevalier, meaning knight =o isnt thar just too much coincidence thar? ))

(( Yeah, of course. Knights made up the word somehow and it stuck. Chivalry is like, knightly behavior or something like that. Like, loyalty and stuff.
There's many kinds of chivalry, though. It just depends on how you see it. ))

Coline soon found herself swept up into the air. During those few moments it felt like everything was moving at slow-motion and she could feel herself lull into a strange state of peace. Images of significant people flashed through her mind; her matron, the Overseer, the people she met during the war, the kind priestess...
Jessie.
Her eyes shot open and she brought her trident forward just in time to meet the assaulter's scythe in a desperate attempt to lessen the impact, but her back met the ground all the same and she groaned. At least she avoided an eminent stab to the gut?

What happened next completely baffled her though. One moment she had been slammed to the ground, and the next she was being hoisted up to a sitting position, both by the same man. What once was utter confusion evolved into sheer irritation.
"What do you mean are you alright, of course I'm not! Just who are--" Coline stopped mid-sentence as she turned to him. She knew this person. "You're... that boy with the hat, aren't you...?" she muttered softly. And then, regaining her sense of self-consciousness, leaned away from him and held the collar of her cloak close to her face. "Did the Armory send you?" she demanded sternly.

(( I think people are getting on at you about it because... what you're calling chivalry implies that women are too weak and you might hurt them if you try and fight them, yknow? These women warriors are every bit as strong and good as you, so it seems strange for you to treat them as if they're china dolls.. ))

(( Nononono that's not what I think of chivalry at all! It's like, no matter how strong she is, I don't give a s**t.
I protect all females even if I'm weaker. It makes me have that guilty feeling if I can't do that, you know?
It's kind of like a marriage concept, where you'd want to protect your wife (even if she's a macho championship winning pro wrestler) and not hit her, something like that.
Or maybe it's cause I want to feel useful as a man? I dunno...

"Well, I don't have my hat right now, so... Heh." He let out a small chuckle.
"Well, I fell off a boat and I drifted into this cave. I don't know the way out... speaking of which, how did you come in?" He glanced at her wounds and turned back to her.
"You're pretty badly hurt. I guess... some of it's my fault. I'm sorry." He moved back into a kneeling position and kowtowed.
"I really am! I made a vow not to hit a woman but I went all out on you!"

"G-G-G... Girlfriend!?" Heat rose up to her cheeks and she gleamed a bright red but soon simmered down once she heard what the boy had to say. So that would mean that this cave was connected to the sea at the other end. This boy had to be really lucky to have survived the wreck and drifted all the way here.
Coline jumped a little in her seat when the boy suddenly knelt in front of her, asking for her forgiveness. She honestly didn't know how to react; this kind of gesture was an unusual sight for her. Staring at the boy for a minute longer she then cleared her throat, shifting uncomfortably in her seat. "It... was a misunderstanding, you don't need to apologize." she said, tucking a few stray strands of hair to the back of her ear. "And it's only natural for a solider to get wounded. These will heal in time."
The battered recruit allowed for a few moments to pass before letting out a deep sigh, pointing to the path she'd taken earlier on. "That tunnel leads outside. Order territory is quite a distance away, but if you follow the coastline you should be able to find your way back."

Minutes passed before she spoke again, her eyes cast downward. "If anyone asks... especially the Captain... we never crossed paths tonight." she breathed out silently, "Promise me."
