"Bien sûr, mon amour. I will not be but a moment!" Still caught up in his excitement, Mallory twirled on his toes and darted down the street. He calmed down halfway there and settled for a quick walk with only an occasional skip. Finding the corner deli, he slipped inside. Half a pound of smoked turkey... did he remember the way home? Maybe Lance would wait for him. No, that made no sense. If Lance would be with him, he would have come with him to the deli. A test, then! He'd come home with the turkey, unscathed and far from lost. Pleased with the thought, Mallory patiently waited his turn in line.

After Mallory was out of sight Lance approached the two musicians. "Good afternoon." He greeted the woman with a slight bow. "You are one of the kindest people I have met since my return to this city." He admitted and looked over at the man who was stacking up the buckets they had been using as instruments. "And you too sir," He added for good measure then looked back at the woman. "Umm, That boy, the dancer. If you didn't notice he's new here, This is his first week, And To see him be so happy made my heart soar, so if you ever need anything people don't hesitate to give me a call." He reached into his back pocket and took out his card, then placed it in the woman's hand she seemed a little confused but very understanding all the same.
"Just a moment, I think I've got our card in the case." She said and moved to the guitar case rummaging though the pocket for a pamphlet. She found one. It was stained on one corner and creased down the center line, but entirely readable. "Here ya go." She seemed proud of herself for being so prepared. And after saying his goodbyes Lance went back to the apartment. He set the pamphlet on the table and sat down on the couch to wait for Mallory to come home.

Mallory purchased the meat and then made his way back toward the apartment. He tempered his earlier enthusiasm, not wishing to accidentally miss one of his newly learned landmarks. What a wonderful day it had been! I will spend the next few days inside. The boy thought to himself as he walked. I do not wish for Lance to worry so much about me. and he would worry. His expression softened into a dreamy smile, his gaze far away. Lance surely loved him, to spend so much time thinking of him and worrying about him. As much as the affection pleased him, he did hate having made his love worry. The look in his eyes before he had left the apartment that morning... but he had still allowed Mallory to go. "You are wondrous, adoré." He murmured as he entered the building and made his way to Barry's apartment. He knocked upon the door and waited.

Lance shot up as soon as he heard Mallory touch the door, he threw open the door and pulled Mallory inside hugging him tightly as he closed the door with his foot. "Good, good job love." He said and released the boy taking the meat from him and moving to place it in the refrigerator. If he was going to be relying on Barry for his food than he should at least help pay for Barry’s. Lance stood over the sink for a moment putting his hands on the cold silvery surface. He regained his composure then moved to rejoin Mallory in the living room. “Good, I’m glad you didn’t get lost.” He joked warmly.

"Mon dieu, you'll crush me!" Mallory complained jokingly though he did not truly mind Lance's sudden embrace at all. He was still broadly smiling when his love released him and took the smoked turkey into the kitchen. Mallory took a few steps after him, but Lance was not gone long and returned before Mallory reached the kitchen. "It is good that you can find humor in it now. But I know you were worried, my love. Today is good enough for now; I will stay inside for a few days. So please, do not worry for me. I will be safe here."
Mallory took one of Lance's hands in both of his to kiss the knuckles. "I love you, adoré. It does not please me to make you so full of concern. I hope you can forgive me for my selfishness today. I wanted to see more of this place that seems so dear to you. And now that I have seen a portion, I can be satisfied." The boy smiled and reached to touch Lance's cheek. His fingers moved to lightly graze over the older vampire's lips.
"Je t'adore chaque jour un peu plus. I adore you more each day." Mallory's cheeks tinged pink at repeating himself in English and his heart pattered a bit more quickly, but his smile widened and his eyes softened. He wanted to say such things to Lance. And in truth, nothing would please him more than to say them in a language his beloved could understand. Only he still felt so shy even trying to profess what his heart knew to be true.

"I wasn't worried, Please don't stay inside just because you don't want to bother me, I don't want you to feel caged, It's your life Mali do what you want." He plucked the boy up in his arms and sat down in the overstuffed white chair, letting him sit upon his lap. "I think it's grand that you like it here so much, and you should explore anywhere you want to, I'm not your keeper, you are grown up enough to handle yourself in public." He kissed the boy's cheek gently and his body stiffened as he fought the urge to suck the boy dry of blood. He was in pain but he could handle it, this kind of constant pain is something he use to be able to endure but for years he had become accustomed to never being thirsty.

Mallory made a soft, startled sound as he was picked up, but smiled when Lance sat, setting Mallory on his lap. "Are you certain, adoré? You looked so very worried when you left. It could not have been pleasant to start your day that way. It is not that I think of you as my keeper. It is only that I love you and it concerns me that you worry." Lance's body had stiffened and the boy in his lap looked up at him curiously. Had he said or done something wrong? No, he did not think that was it... but what, then? "Cher? Is something the matter? You are acting strangely." He frowned slightly and reached up to stroke Lance's cheek once more. He almost seemed to be... in pain? But he would say so, wouldn't he? No... no he probably wouldn't. Mallory chewed his lower lip, concern evident in his eyes.

"I'm fine, don't worry." He said smiling to reassure the boy. He took the boy’s hand from his cheek and kissed his fingers gently before placing it on his chest. "And I'm sure, You can do what ever you want, It is I who needs to change my habits not you." Lance needed space, but he didn't want to be away from Malory it was hard and made his head ache all the worse, he sighed and closed his eyes leaning his head back in the chair slowly. "This is a very comfortable chair..." He said trying to make his actions look normal with words.

Mallory smiled and lay his head on Lance's chest, next to where his hand now lay. He was still worried... but what could he do? Either there was truly nothing wrong... or Lance truly had no intention of telling him. "Would you tell me, adoré? If something were bothering you? You would tell me, wouldn't you? You have said it yourself; I am adult enough to handle myself. Not just in public, but with you as well. With any... problems that may arise." Had he said too much? What if he truly was just wrong? Lance seemed alright... but the tenseness of his body was still worrisome. "I worry as strongly for you as you would for me."

Lance Forced a smirk. "If anything were wrong with me, I would not tell you. Because you would worry to much." He said truthfully. "But I assure you love, I'm fine." He did not move as all as the boy laid his head against his chest, he was to close, this was a bad idea. Lying was a bad idea too but he had started doing it more often, he should really stop doing that.

"That isn't fair, beloved. Of course I would worry; is there such a thing as too much? You would not accept such an answer from me. Nor do I truly think I could ever keep anything important from you." Unaware of Lance's dilemma, Mallory did not even think to move away. He always wanted to be near Lance. Even though it bothered him that his love openly admitted that he would hide problems should they arise, Mallory was not so troubled by it as to give up his comfortable spot on Lance's lap. He pressed a soft kiss to the vampire's neck. "I... I believe you... just..." Mallory sighed and left another kiss on Lance's neck.
"I love you." He decided to say finally, when he could think of nothing else he truly wished to say, and rested his cheek against Lance's chest once more. "I love you with all my heart. If that makes me worry too much, then I cannot help myself, adoré. But I should know by now, you can take care of yourself. I will have to trust you, as I always do."

"I..." Lance started, and then closed his mouth tight. "I need some air, Sorry Mal." He jolted up and set the boy down on the chair. He rushed into the bathroom and opened the window wide. He turned the faucet on and stuck his mouth under the icy cascade of tasteless fluid, gulping down as much as his body could hold. But he knew this was bad for him he would be sick from it and that kind of sickness was hard to hide. "once he was sure he could to hold any more water he turned the faucet off and stood in the open window. "Don't do bad things..." He told himself silently. He wiped his mouth on his self and closed the window. Once re regained his composure he opened the bathroom door and walked to the couch across the glass coffee table from were He had left Mallory. "Sorry, love." Lance said and gave an apologetic smile as he slumped down onto the couch.

Mallory was surprised, disappointed and worried all at once when Lance rose and left him in the chair. The boy frowned slightly, kicking off the shoes he was wearing and curling up in the chair. He heard water running in the bathroom and forced himself to stay where he was. What was wrong and why wouldn't Lance tell him? He was even more worried not knowing. A few moments after the water stopped running, Lance returned and Mallory gave him a concerned little smile. He almost rose from he chair to join Lance on the couch, but stopped himself. Instead he sat there with legs folded beneath him and clenched his fists on his thighs. He very much wanted to be near his love, but felt certain that for Lance to sit so far away there had to be a good reason. "You need not apologize, adoré. I can still see you and speak with you... that will be enough." But only for now, he hoped.

Lance returned the smile and clenched and unclenched his fists. He could feel his body start to right the dreadful wrong he had just done it, "I meant sorry for keeping you waiting, I haven't the faintest Idea what your talking about." Lance joked laughing. He rolled his shoulders and glanced at the door Barry was in the elevator, Seconds later, he was opening the door. Lance shot out of his seat as soon as the man closed the door behind himself and was in the kitchen preparing Dinner for his friend. His hands shook, but he was very anxious "Bear! Mali and I picked up some smoked turkey on the way home, you still like that right?" He called out as he popped the meal into the microwave. He had to wait thirty long seconds before taking it out and rushing back into the living room, holding the very hot plate in his bare hands.
"Ya, That was nice of you guys!" Barry called back, he loosened his tie and dropped his briefcase next to the door. His suit jacket was hung up carefully then he slinked over to the sofa where he sat down yawning slightly. "That was fast, want something?" He commented as Lance placed the dish into his hands and kept his eyes glued on the man's face as he started to eat. Once he was done he held out the plate for Lance to take.
Lance took the plate and rushed back into the Kitchen, he washed and dried it then placed it in the cupboard, with his hands clean and everything done he started to unbutton his shirt. "I need you Bear..." He commented his voice slightly chilled. He straddled the older man with such grace that he must have done it a thousand times before, and he unbuttoned the man's shirt, and then shipped it off of his shoulders. "Ready?" He breathed his lips kissed the pulsing warm neck in front of him and he could hardly hold back.
"Go." Barry said, his eyes made contract with Mallory's and he gasped when Lance's teeth broke the skin and started to suck the life out of him. He kept his eyes on the boy's face the whole time, Even as gasps and hisses, moans, and harsh whispers were pulled from his breath he wanted the boy to know exactly what it felt like to be preyed upon.
Lance drank frenziedly, his mouth never stopping, not even for breath. He was unable to stop, and his instincts had taken over. The man's body arched and convulsed taking in as much as he could, but then Barry did something. He put a hand against his chest and pushed hard.
"Stop." He breathed more begging than ordering, Lance had to fight to do so, but after a few seconds he pulled up, and wiped his mouth on his sleeve. His breathing was rough and his eyes wide and wild.
"Sorry. " He said between breaths he got up off of the now pale trembling man, "My bad." He was exhausted but his body raced with new life.

Mallory laughed softly at Lance's joking words. "Well, there is still no need to apologize." Mallory was not even nearly so attuned to Barry as Lance was, but when the vampire glanced to the door he could guess why. Determined not to feel bad that Lance so eagerly awaited his friend, Mallory smiled and nodded in polite greeting when Barry entered the apartment. Lance immediately began to prepare the man's dinner and Mallory thought nothing of it; it seemed a small favor considering they were staying in the man's apartment.
It made the boy c**k his head curiously to one side when Barry asked if Lance wanted something. Was this behavior more unusual than he had originally surmised? The boy watched quietly as their host ate and Lance watched anxiously. What was going on here? Mallory sat up straighter in the chair, confused and concerned.
Tense moments passed for the boy as he watched Barry eat, then hand the empty plate to Lance. He eyed the man questioningly as Lance went into the kitchen, but it seemed he would have to wait for any answers. It was not a long wait; Lance came from the kitchen and declared that he needed Barry. The choice of words, and the way they were said almost sent more heat flooding his cheeks than the graceful ease with which Lance had straddled Barry. Almost. Mallory could not look away as Lance unbuttoned the older man's shirt, dragged it from his shoulders and then kissed the now bared neck.
As soon as Barry indicated he was ready, Mallory knew he should have looked away. But Barry's eyes caught his and he could not. He could only watch as his love drank, giving obvious pleasure to the man beneath him. Mallory was sickened, angry... and worst of all, intrigued. A heat spread through his body as he watched Lance feed with abandon. The sounds Barry made rung in his ears and the boy absently bit his own knuckles until he could taste blood.
The taste of his own blood, the smell of Barry's and the heated sounds coming from Lance's 'victim' were all too much and Mallory willed himself to stand and walk away. But Barry's gaze held his, compelling him to watch until the end. An end that was a long time in coming and Mallory winced at the realization that Lance was half starved. That was what he had been hiding... since this morning... Perhaps even since the night before? "Oh, god..." He whispered in traumatized realization of what he had done.
Barry had to actually push Lance away, pleading for him to stop. Mallory felt ashamed, though he said nothing. The vampire did stop after seeming to fight with himself and Mallory looked to the pale and shaken Barry only a moment more before he had to look away. How sickening was it that their display made him want to taste the man's blood? Or that he currently dug his fingers into the couch arms not because of Barry's lewd gasps and moans, but because his fangs ached to plunge in where Lance had left off?
Mallory took a deep breath to steady himself, still unable to look at either man. "You could have told me, adoré. You should have stopped me sooner before." He mumbled in quiet distress. And what could he even say to Barry? What was there to say? The man was taunting him on purpose, knowing that Mallory would only run away as he always did.
