Edward entered the edge of the forest, following the path he had originally walked to get to Hollow village the first time he was out on a mission. "Damn this new RCS... I swear I leave for a bit and someone takes over."

Edward came out at the exit of the forest that faced the Village. On his way here, he decided to approach Avarice and ally himself with the mad man who was his nemesis. Everything he was about to do felt wrong but he decided to go with the lesser of the two evils, even if the lesser of the two is still evil.

Alice walked through the forest. It was dark as usual and surprisingly cold. Pulling her jacket tighter around her, she approached the river, staring into it. Then, reaching into her violin case, she sighed, calmed herself and began to play Canta Per Me, singing ever so quietly. She missed Edward...where was he?

Lanius came up behind her, in his tophat and long black coat. "Miss Alice, why, that song is beautiful." He bowed, then stood upright. "However, I must insist on you putting your violin away, not to be rude... but you must come with me."

Angel of the End Lanius came up behind her, in his tophat and long black coat. "Miss Alice, why, that song is beautiful." He bowed, then stood upright. "However, I must insist on you putting your violin away, not to be rude... but you must come with me." Alice froze, hearing Lanius behind her. She turned slowly... "Why?" She asked suspiciously, keeping an eye on Lanius as she tucked her violin away. She didn't like doing as he told her, but she didn't want her violin to get ruined. "I've done no crime..." Still, she took a step backwards.

He grinned, looking slightly over her shoulder. She sighed. Now or never. So, taking her violin, praying it wouldn't get too damaged, she swung her violin up at Lanius' face. Hoping it hit.

Lanius caught it without damaging it, and put it away in her case carefully for her. "Sorry, guess I deserved that. However, seeing how time is running short, we can't play around anymore." His left hand was in his coat pocket, holding a hand gun.

Alice glared at him. "I can't die." She said. "I don't care." Then, she stopped. She wasn't sure he knew that or not, but now he did. s**t.

He pulled out his gun and shot so quick it was almost instant. The bullets exploded on impact, with an acid mixture to slowly tear away at the flesh and muscles for up to several hours per bullet. He stood up and pulled out a roap that was tied to his back. "Another shot, maybe?"

Alice fell to her knees, clutching at where she'd been shot. Glaring up at him, she spat at his boots. Defiant to the end, just like Edward. No wonder she was his mate. She could feel the acid eating away, but as it ate away, her body also healed. The wound spread no further, merely her body and the acid balanced one another out. Alice whimpered silently, but other than that, made no other sound to show she was in pain.
