Jack nodded and rubbed his chin, "Thats nice, you have been really a blessing to have here...with your knowledge of herbal remedies and all."
Once again Jack's thoughts turned to the possibility of Shannon being pregnant. He knew they were lucky that Claire's birth had gone as smoothly as it had. He wondered how they would be able to handle 2 small children on the island, but decided that bridge would have to be crossed when it arrived...

Sun cocked her head slightly and scrutinized Jack for a moment.
"It is nice to finally find a doctor of western medicine that still has faith in eastern principle," Sun replied.
She was glad that Jack appreciated what she had to offer. She wanted to help around the island and was happy to be given the opportunity.

Jack smiles and chuckles lightly at Sun's remark. "Well it is hard to dispute the facts, isn't it? You completely helped Shannon, before I could even understand what you said..."
He looked down at the ground for a moment, and then out at the sea.

Sun smiled inwardly. Despite their initial communication barriers, Jack had instilled faith in her. He really was a man to overcome all odds. Sun knew there was no other doctor she would rather be stuck on the island with. Jack had a quiet command about him that kept them all sane.
"I know you understand why I could not tell you earlier that I spoke English. You saw what happened when Jin found out..." Sun trailed off.
Even mentioning his name brought tears to her eyes. On the one hand, she was glad to be rid of Jin. She had her freedom back. On the other hand, though, she missed having a husband to fawn over. Despite all of the challenges they had faced, Jin had always helped her hang on. Now they were facing a bigger challenge than ever and she had to fend for herself. Sun could sympathize for Shannnon. It was just like her and Boone. They definitely had their differences. It was an unjust world they lived in. Sun decided then that she would make it her mission to bring Boone and Shannon closer together. She would need him during her pregnancy more than ever. Boone could give Shannon something that no one else could, although Sun couldn't exactly be sure what that was. Their relationship was a mystery to all of the survivors.
Sun sat in slience and watched the gap in the trees, waiting for Shannon to reappear, or for Jack to speak.

Jack leaned over and put his hand on her shoulder. "We all understand Sun, and someday I am sure that Jin will understand too..."
Jack paused, he knew how uncomfortable she must feel being on the island with Jin. He could always tell since the crash that Jin was very protective of her, and it was hard to believe he hated her so much now. He knew it would only be a matter of time before the hatred subdued.

Sun took comfort in Jack's reassurance.
"Thank you," she said lightly.
Sun continued to stare out at the ocean, hugging her knees to herself as she pondered.
((I'm going offline for the night. If I don't get a solid 8 hours I'm useless for class the next day. I'll be online tomorrow morning and again after school. See you later, Kiyo! It's been great ^-^))

Claire kissed him and held the kiss for a few seconds. She pulled away alittle so she would be about an inch away and she smiled.

((Sorry I got offline so suddenly. My dad was leaving and without thinking I shut down the computer and then realized what i'd done but wasn't able to get back on due to chores... sweatdrop ))
Shannon pressed her back against the trunk behind her and slid down into a make-shift sitting position. From her vantage point she could see the small pregnancy kit sitting out in it's box. If she'd ever wished for a watch it would be now because as it was she felt like she'd been waiting for hours when in reality it had only been a few minutes. Part of her was wanting to stay right where she was so she would never know and the other part was tearing at her hair in anticipation of the answer.
Okay...She took a deep breath. It had been enough time now hadn't it? It felt like it had. Carefully she got to her feet, shaking from head to foot. She stared at the small little square and mentally tried to digest the results several times.
Pregnant.

Sun continued to stare at the trees, waiting for Shannon to emerge. Both she and Jack wondered what was taking her so long. After a few more tense minutes, Shannon reappeared. Both Jack and Sun stood and walked over to where she had soundlessly dropped onto her knees in the sand. Jack put a hand on her shoulder and looked at her concernedly whilst Sun did the same on the other side.
"What does it say?" Sun asked lightly.
Shannon had tears in her eyes as she looked up to reply.
((I'm off to school now, so if I'm not around for a while it means I'm probably in class heh... Be back after school!))

"It's positive..." Shannon mumbled numbly. It wasn't until she felt something wet on her cheek that she realized she was still crying. "It says I'm pregnant..." She threw the small white kit onto the sand. "It says I'm ******** pregnant." Sun pulled her into a tight hug and Shannon accepted it.
"Is there anything you want to talk about?" Jack asked cautiously. "Questions? Concerns?" She shook her head.
"I want to talk to Boone...could someone...um..." She bit her lip and scanned the beach. "Does anyone know where he is? Or Sayid?"

Sun watched the younger woman as she stared at the sand and tears flowed from her eyes.
"I'll go find Boone for you. If I see Sayid I will tell him to come to you," Sun said lightly.
She stood up and walked away, with an approving nod from Jack...
