Qiam Not so much as secret as a long, ranting moral: I think the one biggest issue during high school is people don't know who they are. They get sucked into cliques. They become strawmen of who they really are. It's as if they're trapped in their own stereotype; they don't WANT to say the terrible things they say, but they're too scared to try to be who they really are. High school is a complicated and vulnerable time.
I'm lucky. I think I had a bit of a head-start. I wasn't quite sure who I was, but I knew enough that cliques and stereotypes and cliches are bad. I was proud because no one could "label" me into a singular group. I made friends a lot of different people from different cliques. How? I caught them when they weren't in their cliques, when they were real and not trapped within the stereotype.
My school wasn't plagued by cliques. It wasn't nearly as bad as horror stories I've heard. They were there, yes, but people were more honest with themselves. Jocks weren't afraid to take art classes, geeks tried out for the football team, and the cheerleaders were as kind and friendly as anyone.
If I ever have children, I'll tell them: "Never forget who you are and never let anyone try to change you. Don't let the fear of being unpopular or disliked control you because there are people out there who will accept you for who you are. If you can't find them in high school, that sucks, but you will find them eventually."
I'm glad I found those people early on. I'm lucky. My school is the same way. Sure you still have a little hint of cliques but I mean people are friends with whoever they want to be friends with. It's not like how you see on TV like on Glee and other movies like that it's just.. okay to be yourself here. I'm a geek and I did football for 2 years xd and most of the cheerleaders I know are actually pretty awesome and smart. o.o Secret: Friend had a party yesterday and I think the best part of it was when I was outside with the girl I like just talking while we waited for our parents. :$

I'm not sure if this really qualifies as a secret posting, but since it is directly related to a post I made here in the past I figured it was the best place for it.
I would like to apologize to the guild for any heated comments I've made in the past. I'm not going to point them out or the folks they were directed at as that would be rude to them and I'm sure you can find them on your own if you are really interested. I was speaking out of annoyance and I was fed up. I really should have vented in private rather then in public. I ended up making a complete a** of myself and hurting people that weren't involved. Innocent bystanders and all that jazz. sweatdrop
No replies or quotes of this post please. I just wanted to put this out there and now I wish to just let it lie.

Secret: I hate it when people respond to other peoples' bad news or misfortune with "That sucks." When you bomb your midterm, that sucks. But when one of your closest family members dies, it's... just awful.

Cannibal Horsey Am I the only person that comes in here sometimes and thinks TMI? No. /is also a person that thinks that here sometimes. I've been lying to my mom a lot...I've told her I've filled out jobs applications and stuff when I haven't. I also told her I called and emailed my boss...but I didn't

I found the origin of "giftrape". rofl And now I'm wondering if the first people to use the term in the context of zOMG knew about it, or if it was just coincidence. I mean, one would think it was intentional, but that thread was ancient...
