Arthur chuckled a little bit at Zahara's comment and a tiny smile appeared on his face. "You got that right Zahara." He muttered and sighed and he shifted in his seat again as he placed his head so his single eye could be looking at the female drow so she didn't think he was trying to ignore her. But now the conversation has died and they needed something to talk about so what should they bring up now? After thinking for a bit there was something he had been meaning to ask her just out of curiosity. "How's the baby Zahara? Your around what six months now?" Arthur's one eye moved down to her round belly and looked at it for a moment, to have another being gorwing inside you and be connected to you, that's gotta be really weird right there.

Zahara thought about her answer very carefully and really considered what she could and could not say. Piper got upset when she refused to acknowledge the baby as anything to herself and she didn't know if that was just a surface elf thing or just Piper herself. "Six months down, six months to go." She frowned immediately. Of course he'd ask how the baby was. It was just snug and cozy in it's little world, blissfully unaware of the pain and anguish it was causing her. "Fine. It likes to make me eat strange foods, mostly meat and cooked different ways, and need reverie at random moments. It takes great joy in pissing me off and making me actually cry or just up and feel the need to smack somebody who doesn't really deserve it. Oh yes, and it likes to make me pee. A lot."

Arthur blinked a few times at Zahara's answer, that was a little more than he needed to know really. "Well that sounds...harsh really." What was he suppose to say? That it was all fun for her? No way it seemed that the baby was causing her a lot of stress which made Arthur glad that he wasn't a woman. "Well like you said six more months then it's done." Though it then crossed his mind that she would have to go through the situation of delivering the baby. "Have you thought of a name for your child yet?" He asked as he leaned forward in his seat a little, hell it has been six months maybe Zahara had picked one by now.

Malik was getting a tad bit impatient. and Sevilin hanging by him wasn't improving the mood.

"Sevilin, I want you to take particular interest right now in the surface elves. Particularly Cedric. and keep an eye on Onyx too. I don't want that Vah getting a jealous streak from cedric and aella's dance and becoming violent."

Then he got himself up, and kissed his wife's hand.

"I'll be right back, dear."

And moved himself over toward Jiscal.

"Seems you are going to have an interesting time soon, with your most powerful backer out of the picture. Is there anything you might need with or ask of the fortress? If not, we'll probably be leaving shortly. the other lady that came with us is in a foul mood and that pirate wench caused her male counterpart a minor injury."

"We all have our indignities to atend." Jiscal replied. "I think that I have gained the necessary power bases to control my throne, dispite the fact it may have been handed to me. Most of the noble who did not agree with my policies are dead, which leave the few who do agree with my policies. My city is decimated by war, your trade embargoes, and famine, but I have the feeling we will recover that population soon." The king raised his glass, "You are an impressive dancer, I must say." He added, not willing to allow this discussion to be completely controlled by Malik. "I skimmed the trade offers you dropped on me, I am not sure this community can suffice with many of your proposals. Akbarizad will take them to his city on his return trip, and see if his richer community could use or know a use for your more exotic or expensive wears."

He placed his glass on the table. "Did you have a request to make? Do you want to actually see the charter that my former ally signed in your name in order to exempt you from extreme punishment for squating on land that used to belong to me. All those years of not paying taxes, added up to a rather hansome son. Including all of the charges placed upon you, which I pardoned, you would have owed Deep Water Four hundred thousand pounds of gold. But, no one in my kingdom dare approach you, so collecting that sum of money fell onto my shoulders. Pardoning you seemed the most prudent of acts. Creating a deed with your name on it followed shortly to avoid this issue in the future, or with future generations."

"If this is about a possible military coalition, I am afraid you may wish to wait until the Deep Waterman Army has recovered from the destruction caused in the coup. My fomer ally was very brutal with those soldiers and officers, allowing but two to live." Looking at Zhap, the king shoke his head, "I heard he was hiding under his bed, which may not be too far from the truth." He shrugged, "My ally trained a few nobles in the art of war, they seemed changed men, and very loyal to my cause. But, I lack the numbers of the former forces. I have but half of the previous regime's men at arms, but my men have dwarven made weapons. That probably makes them a better fighting force overall." A pause, "Several years, and I may be able to provide you with support for any campaign agianst the inhabited south you wish. For now, they are merely defenders of this city."

A slight chuckle.

"You nad I both know that any attempt like that would have been met most harshly. However, My trade embargoes and your outlawing of other trades of mine leave you and I both at a slight disadvantage. I lack information previously available to me, and you have more to deal with in famine."

A grin.

"Many of my proposals are mostly done in vaguaries due o the unknown nature of your markets for such things. They can be adjusted if need be, but your other talk of military campaigning is not an interest of mine directly, as of yet. Though I am interested in this charter."

Impassive again in his looks.

"My offer was more in line to aiding you in your rebuilding. can always lift my embargoes as a favor, and get you much needed food and medical supplies I imagine."

"Oh, and if you must know. I don't have intention of staging bloody coups or grand campaigns. I learned long ago something Tarathiel has some trouble with. Patience. I need to speak with the Purians, so do give Piper your answer about the trade embargoes. after all, it's only a minor debt you'd owe for my charity. nothing grand."

And a small nod, and he left Jiscal's table to go to teh Purians.

"A word, if I could?"

She wanted to knock Arthur on his head and yell six months! Do you really think that is no big chunk of time?! But she didn't, just sat there and nodded to him. It was to be done in six more months, she just wished his tone was a little different. He was more flippant about this whole thing, because after all, he wasn't the one carrying the child. A name for her child? Whoa, back up there a moment and freeze. "It's not mine so no, I haven't. That's up to Sevilin when and what it will be named. Ask him."

"This Ball is partially because the Famine is over, Malik."

Jiscal chuckled, he had been having a wonderful time sending almost worthless lake Kelp to Dragnon for half a year in exchange for gold, spices, and rare madicinal herbs. His only problems seemed to be the weather and krakkens. He let Malik wonder off, and looked at his table where Piper seemed less stressed than before, but decided that he would give it some more time before addressing her about the 'trade embargo'.

Arthur leaned back in his chair with a light nod at her anwer. "Alright then." Was all he said as he crossed his arms and placed them against his chest, deciding it was best if he dropped the subject for now, there was no need to ask anymore questions incase they were going to tread among more personal areas of her life. Now that they had nothing to talk about Arthur's only eye rolled up to the ceiling and he sighed just a little bit out of annoyance, he wanted to go home and get a bath so badily, the smell of wine was starting to bug him with each whiff of it now.

Leaf and Stick frowned at the ruler of the Triumverate fortress, ready to shoo the man, but the Cheiften waved them off with a hand. "A word? You have already spoken many, but you may continue with more if you wish." He smiled jovially. "What do you wish to word, D'vinn?"

Wait wait wait...he was being told to babysit and thier own matters ignored? Well fine then...he would let Arthur be made to sit there and get cranky, and Zahara could just pass out on the table. There, that would make a fine little look...then again maybe all them being tucked away at one table and not involved with the general crowd was good. Looking to Piper he crossed his arms. "I suppose you won't be any help in my favor either."

Thus turning on his boot heel and limping back over to the table, plopping down as he had before and propping his ankle on the opposing chair. A look to the two at the table. "Buckle down children, we're in for a good bit of waiting."

See? She wasn't stupid, she knew he wanted to go off and play politics. After all, Piper really just wasn't much fun or entertainment at parties and what not. Nope, just sat there. Contemplated going back to her own table...but it looked kind of hostile over there. Though a little frown and sigh at Sevilin on his words before he walked off. Pissy thing. Couldn't he just shut up and take it like a man? Didn't see her whining about it.

Warren plopped himself down near Piper, hooking the backs of his arms over the chair and leaning back a bit, though the hood still stayed covering his face. "You've looked purturbed all evening, Piper. Why don't you dance with me? Work out some of that frustration." He smiled in a way that said she didn't have to take him up on his offer, but it was a good idea.

Her attention turned to the young mage as he plopped himself down. Even with a hood up and what not, she recognized him...by his voice if anything, seeing as being elven she didn't forget anything. "Have I really?" And there was that offer again...was dancing always supposed to be the answer at parties? Well, at a ball she quessed it would be now wouldn't it? "I suppose that this just isn't my normal social setting...I'd be happy to curl up at home with someone close, or something like fletch." Malik was definately the more social of the two, that was for sure. But a look to Warren...well it couldn't hurt...she knew him...and she didn't want to sit at this table all night, tapping her nails on it. Better to occupy herself by doing something than occupying herself by watching Malik as he did his political thing. So then a little slightl nod to Warren, one hand combing through her hair on the right side to make sure what she wanted hidden was indeed so. "I suppose a dance couldn't hurt..."

He took her hand and swept her up off the chair. Not intending for this to be a slow dance, Warren had Piper up and moving as soon as her feet were on the dance floor. She didn't have to know the steps, dancing with Warren was simply a natural, fluid motion. It didn't matter who you were.

"With a past like your own, I do not find that surprising. Some of us are not tuned to social or political gatherings." He gave her a spin, pulling her close for a moment before continuing on. The music picked up with the pace of their steps.

Well yes if there was one thing that Piper could do it was dance. Any dance, any form, and she could do it well. Owed that to Rainsongs she supposed and well just being elven gave a natural rhythm boost. It was easy to follow steps or go with ones that were given. Though she was a little surpised that slow dancing was out, not that she minded at all. But a blink at him as he spun her and pulled her close before he let her go. That was an interesting question. "Past like my own? And do tell, what do you know of my past, Warren?" No really...they were barely acquaintances.
