Konami Shojou destroyerofcute I've seen it once.. I like it better than the movie. i liek the dancing monkey girl from the musical Me too. :3 You know, the book the musical was based on isn't nearly as interesting. Though there are spin-off books that are a joy to read. heart *fangirlism* i have yet to read the book

destroyerofcute i have yet to read the book Leroux Gaston, the original author, wrote it in the way someone who was compiling a study would. As a result, it's mostly dry and matter-of-fact, though there are some good parts. Andrew Lloyd Webber really took a lot of artistic liberties. And I love him for it.

Re: Phantom. I love the book. No surprise. I loathed the opera. Big surprise. o_O; Of course I was very little at the time, so perhaps my judgment was a bit unsound. I was so angry at the movie the first time I saw it that I couldn't watch it all the way through, but after listening to the soundtrack every day for a month, I have grown to love Eric's voice so much that I'm starting to love the movie.
Les Mis is coming back for a short run. Life holds no greater joy for me than this. Fantine had better be blonde this time or I'm throwing a tomato.

destroyerofcute: Which song? :3 I think my favorite is Eponine's solo, "On My Own." Oh, and of course "One Day More." *purr* Oh how I love that book. *swoon* My #1 favorite book.
mimi: Like anything else you want, I suppose. Save up, apply to charities, vote in polls, et cetera, and then either gamble or buy tickets from other people.

I read Phantom of the Opera and liked it... although I read somewhere that the most common translation is actually quite inferior. I despised the movie the first time I saw it, and I still don't like it that much. I can't stand Gerard Butler or Emmy Rossum's voices. gonk I've never seen the musical, so I'd been listening to the original cast recording... heart
