Khalid laughed. "Protective? She's awful. She's never been married, never had children of her own. It was as though she adopted Rei out of sheer loneliness. She's tried to raise this girl according to what books tell her. I'm already plotting this woman's death. It'll be an accident, and then I can pull some strings and get you custody of the kid. The only way the vulture will give Rei up is by prying her from her cold, dead hands. You want me to get the girl, did you say?" Margaret was tugging on Khalid's sleeve, telling him to speak so she understood, to tell her what was going on. Her voice was raised; she sounded angry.

Kira sighed "Just dont let rei see anything ok? and yes I would like to talk to her."

"Okay. Make sure you listen for heavy breathing on the other line, though." Khalid muttered, shielding the phone with his body as the woman tried to pry it from his hands. It was cordless, so he managed to break away from Margaret and sprint up the stairs, going to the daughter's bedroom. She shrieked in alarm at having a near stranger just burst into her room, but Khalid didn't seem to care. He thrust the phone at the little girl. "Miss Nawi wants to speak to you. I need to go talk to your mother some more." Rei watched as the strange agent placed the phone down on the bed and then briskly left the room. He was weird. She picked up the phone once she was sure he was gone. "I think there's a crazy person in my house." She said tearfully, hoping it was Kira on the other end.

"Uh, yeah." Rei had been slightly upset at the suddenness of Kira hanging up earlier, but it was fine since she called back. "Who was that man who spoke earlier?" She had, of course, heard everything Bakura had said, but wasn't sure if she should believe it. Her father? Really?

Kira let out a sigh "that...was your father...You see...He isent ummm.....Ok in the head...." Kira said not sure how to describe bakura. "It's not eazy to exsplain...."

"Oh... Are you married to him?" Rei hadn't been told much about her real family, but had the general feeling that Kira had been a single mother.

"Oooh, cool." Rei cooed, getting up and shutting her bedroom door. "I've only been able to swim in a pool. Do you think I could visit you sometime?"

Kira smiled. "I would love for you to come and visit. But we would have to plan a time.If you wanted to go swimming we would have to makesure the weathers nice....It's no fun swiming in the cold..."

"You would have to talk to my mom about that." Rei said, sounding a bit huffy. "She would probably need to come as well and make sure I don't get sucked underneath the water."

Kira chuckled "Im sure I can make sure that dosent happen....Do you like pizza?" Kira asked. They ate alot of take out at the house.

"Pizza? It's okay... I guess..." Rei hadn't really had pizza. At her house, Margaret considered take out to be the devil's food. She had had it a few times at school, but it was the icky school lunch kind, and not very good at all.
