when you put stat points into intelligence you get slots per increments:
5pts= basic jutsu slot(these are rp effect only techniques that give no statistical bonus)
10pts= normal jutsu slot(these are composed of any level of pre-made jutsu and jutsu made by other players.)
15pts= custom jutsu slot(these increase in increments of 5 starting with a level 5 jutsu on the first 15 pt in intelligence.
20pts= jutsu upgrade(these upgrade jutsu by 5 levels. the first upgrade unlocked allows you to upgrade level 5 or lower jutsu. the next upgrade is for level 10 and lower and so on.
normal jutsu can be learned at any level and the only restriction to this is rpical training of the techniques(like all other jutsu). the thing to keep in mind is higher level jutsu cost more to use so even if you know a level 205 jutsu you may not be able to use it until you have enough chakra to do so.

PeterBainner Okay, so I have another question just so that I'm not missing any details: I'm level 0 with a 5 int score. If I level up and decide to put the +15 in my int, can I learn a jutsu at the same time as I level up? Or do I have to have the slot unlocked prior to attempting to learn the jutsu? You can do it all in one update, so long as the end result is you have the slot and did what you needed to do to learn the tech.

Okay... i hate that the questions keep coming... but suppose I get to 20 points of Int... do I unlock a basic, a custom, a normal, AND an upgrade, or do I just pick one of the four?

at ever specific interval of INT you unlock the specific thing.
so every 5 = unlock 1 basic.
every 10 = unlock 1 normal
and so on. they happen automatically when you gain int.
