Yue nodded as he rose to his feet to escort Nadya to where they were going. He would have the easier of the two jobs, he was glad for the moon as well. Wtih a full moon out he could excerise his magic to nearly full use.

"Agreed," he replied softly.

In the meantime, Mia was getting ready herself, as she wore a plain black school girl's uniform, theo nly parts that were white were her socks and the stripes on her collar that nearly seemed to glow against the black.

Donovan's face of indifference shown against the fire's light, but he wasn't all that pleased about the night. While it looked lovely, the full moon made them too visible. He only hoped that there were no archers or whatever hidden in teh shadows, they would become too clear of targets then.

"Let's get this over with, Gion?" Donovan referred to the man in their party while making sure Triton was ready.

Triton had shoved his over shirt into his bag leaving him only with his tanktop and jeans, all clothes were naturally dark and it wasn't like he wore anything shiny. The beads he normally wore around his neck were made out of wood rather than metal or stone.

He nodded grimly, "Let's go," he agreed keeping his throwing stars hidden under his belt and his sword strapped across his back.

Gion nodded and stuffed his cloak into his bag. It was white, being made out of spidersilk, and though he was going to be cold on the way down, the fighting would warm him up. And it wasn't as if he had to worry about catching a cold afterward, like a human would.

He double checked to make sure he had his own sword strapped properly on his back, but not tied down. It would probably be a giveaway, the sword, that he wasn't a child (though they had probably noticed it earlier in the day, too, really) but it didn't matter. When they were finished, no one who had seen him was likely to be alive anymore.

Not if he could help it.

These, after all, were the men who were persecuting his mother so terribly. He wasn't vindictive by nature, but these dwarfs, and any humans who were helping them, were going to pay.

Ready, Daemon? he asked his friend. We're about to see more action than we've seen in years.

Nadya brushed her fingers along Gion's shoulders as she passed by him on her way out of their little niche, but she didn't say anything. She refused to let herself say goodbye. She knew he - all of them - would come out of this all right.

Or was that simply her heart overruling her Sight?

Whichever it was, she wasn't going to even entertain the thought of them failing. They would survive.

She linked arms with Yue and started leading him out of their hiding place towards the walls where the Elven army was watching over the dwarfs. With luck, they could complete their mission and be back here even before the others reached the dwarfs.

... that would need a whole lot of luck.

Daemon stirred within the sword, he had kept pretty silent, not wanting to distrub those that were at work. Though now he would have to do what he could to make sure they all came out of this in one piece.

As ready as I'll ever be.

Yue let Nadya lead the way, since he didn't know the way there. He had thrown his cloak like sash over his shoulders to hide his wings, his height was already unusual, he wasn't going to add his wings to the number of oddities.

Gion watched as Nadya led Yue out into the night, then looked back at Donovan and Triton. He beckoned for them to follow him and started down into the settlement once more. His mouth was set in a line of determination, and there was a smouldering glow deep in his eyes, one that he had never had before in his life.

He was on the hunt.

It wasn't far to the elven walls, and Nadya and Yue had reached it in almost no time at all. She lowered the cowl of her cloak. Despite the coldness, she knew there was a small chance that someone there might recognize her, and if they did it would only make their job here easier.

You can relax, she told Yue with her mind. With your wings hidden you look like a Westland elf. They won't make any special notice of you, and they'll speak in the common tongue automatically because of it.

She looked around for a guard to speak to, forcing herself not to look over the edge of the wall and search for a sign of the other group.

About a quarter mile ahead of the two arrivals was a group of three elves who were sitting or leaning against the wall, casting only occasional glances over it at the dwarfish settlement below. After all, the dwarfs had been here nearly four decades by now, and there had never been a single problem. What was the point in watching any more closely than this?

They were surprised, however, when they saw two white figures apparating out of the night, coming towards them. All three of them jumped to their feet, preparing their weapons but not drawing them. They would wait and see who it was first.

Still, they were tall ... and dressed in white. For all appearances, they looked like elves ... which generally meant one of two things: either reinforcements were coming (not likely since there were only two of them and neither of them were in uniform) or there was a message that needed to be delivered.

Yue tilted his head curiously at Nadya, though it wouldn't look like much to a normal person. He had been sort of surprised inside, for he had not considered anyoen mistakening him for an elf. Though he su8pposed at his height he shouldn't be surprised too much.

Once the guards came into view he nodded at them gravey holding out his hands to show he held no weapons, however it wasn't like he was one to use weapons, he didn't like them.

The soldiers looked at the Westlander and nodded, satisfied. Then one of them stepped forward and spoke.

"Visitors from both lands," he said softly with a hint of surprise in his voice. "I take it you bear news for us. Is our relief coming any time soon?"

There was really very little else of importance up here.

"Where is your Captain?" Nadya asked, her tone far stronger than it had been when she'd attempted to speak to the dwarfs. "We must speak with him immediately."

Then again, they were elves that they were dealing with here, and she wasn't frightened of the elves.

She added, "We bear a message from Queen Atalya."

To Yue, she thought, Sound authoritative. These are footsoldiers. They are of the lowest rank. Sound like you have the authority to give them orders.

That made Yue feel a bit more at ease, it was like students, only these guys had far more expeirence. It was the only way that Yue could describe it at the moment. Being in a position of authority he was use to.

"It is necessary," Yue finally spoke up in a cold voice that bared no room for argument, "That we speak to the Captain at once on this matter."

All three guards looked surprised, but they moved to let the two pass.

"This way," said the one who had spoken to them, beckoning for them to follow him. "He's not far. Follow me."

He started off down the walkway.
