He was the best hunter in his village. He could hunt rabbits, turkeys, deer, wolves, and unicorns. Yes, unicorns. With his reputation as the most marvelous hunter in the land, Audentes married the most beautiful woman, Emelia. Together they bore two children: Lalaine and Rufus.
But one day, while Audentes went hunting through the forest, he stumbled upon the Great Kingdom of the Unicorns. There, a majestic unicorn approached him, her mane a rainbow of colors and her body sparkling white, while her horn a mixture of gold and silver. The unicorn introduced herself as the Queen of the Unicorns.
In awe, Audentes fell to his knees, his bow and arrows tossed aside. The queen told him of the pain he brought her people, and announced that if he killed anymore of her kind that she would bestow a horrible curse on his family. "No!" cried Audentes.
The unicorn smiled and said, "But if you agree to become part of my people, then I will bless your family, and you most of all."
Being a smart man, Audentes agreed to join her. From then on, Audentes became the Lord of the Unicorns.
