Seraphi slowly losing his wings, his appearance turning back into that of Miran as Ruby approached he would look down to Ruby and nod. "I think so. She is unconcious." Watching the medical team usher her away and seeing Ruby still quite a bit angry with him, he just stayed out, staying for what ever questions the gaurds had for him.

Ruby St.Claire She pulled back and looked for a card, but found none, she frowned a bit, but an anonymous gift was still a gift. As she turned around she saw the blue card on the other side of the door. She tilted her head slightly curious and picked it up, opening it as she stood up. It read, in bright blue gel pen on darkly stenciled paper:Quote: Rubies are red, So do not be blue; Best of luck with the Angel, And Happy Birthday to you.

Jerhic's voice crackled across the intercom. "Ladies and gentlemen, it's game time. Report to your transportation and move out."
As the announcement went out, the older man from Jerhic's office sat at a bench on the street. A hummer with dark tinted windows rolled up to where he sat. The rear window rolled down, the passanger sitting on the far side. "Mister Locke, a pleasure to finally meet you. If you will please get in, we will discuss our business more privily elsewhere."
The old man nodded, walking to the Hummer, opened the door, and slipped in, the vehicle rolling back off down the street.

The day after the events of the Curse, the day Jerhic made the 'game time' announcement ((I figure we'll just say they had a day, but skip to the next)), Arch was standing outside the base, looking over a wide group of forces. Tubby's batallion of over 20 Siege T's was finally finished, and he looked like one happy-a** fat man. Herbasis was there, his s**t-ruiners standing around him, a few large vehicles in the air ((to be covered later)). Merlin stood, arms crossed, watching the Angel. Arch's voice was broadcasted over the speakers throughout the city, after Jehric finished his message.
"Ahwl raihgt, yeh sahwreh suhns oh' bihtchehs! Arch paused, thinking of one last thing. "Ahn theah ahwl saihd yehr ahwl ugleh!"
Tubby stuck his head out of his tank. "They're ugly!" He roared back, shaking a fist.
"Leht's gihve 'ehm ah ghuhd ahwl fashiohn 'eahpihn ohf paihn!"

Watching the medical team usher her away and seeing Ruby still quite a bit angry with him, he just stayed out, staying for what ever questions the gaurds had for him. The guards asked the basic questions of who he was, what he can do, etc, and then sent him on his way. If he needed sheltering there were different places to safe house him across the city, but considering he had blown up Ruby, he'd have to wait to enter the base or join the AA, until invited by the head-honcho himself.

A.C. was crouched in the shadows, waiting, when Arch made him announcement. Holding a hand in front of her mouth, she swallowed slowly and deliberately, activating a small mike at her throat. "Tough love..." she sang lowly, "Ugly is as ugly does/we told them that was life/waiting we/in hades say, oh, we see/the battle will commence. Rock't!"
She slipped away with a triumphant smile touched by bitterness.

Aaron was next to her, and had allowed her to hold his hand, but he would have insisted it was only to make her feel better, not because of a lack of independance on his own part.

She slipped away with a triumphant smile touched by bitterness. As she swallowed, the mic activating, she felt a painful jolt in her throat, almost as if the mic had suddenly sparked. The Seer sat on top of a nearby building, having fried the mic. He had considered just killing her, or attacking her, but this made it more interesting, and her poem was nice that she had written for Ruby. He contented himself to watching and waiting.

Good thing it was a trip mike, not the important one. It would have warned the main troops through an auto-alert filter back at Black Ops, but at least her crew still got the message.
The message almost didn't go through, due to the new scratchiness of her throat, but they had been expecting something like it and managed to get the gist.

Hmm, due to that being completely legitimate, and not really avoidable, the ground underneath her leaped up and punched her in the back of the knee.

Due to the activity of the earth beneath her being completely out of the ordinary, A.C. had no reason to expect it and fell down with a look upon her face very much full of surprise. She got a mouthful of dirt.

Nothing else happened, Arch was merely silently informed to shoot A.C. if he saw her, and that Phoenix knew they were coming.

As A.C. spat out dirt and pushed herself to her knees, she thought emotionlessly, This is what I get for doing my job. Are the perks not wonderous? She brushed off her shirt and wiped her face, thinking with a touch of anger, Like anyone cares what happens to us. Like our families know we exist. Like we get health insurance or something. Freakin' A, that's all I have to say. She stood, brushing off the rest of her, thinking with the muffled sorrow and bitterness of repressed loss, I am nothing. No one. No one knows, no one will ever see... not even my fellow humans even KNOW WHO I AM. That boyfriend? The whole idea of marriage, kids? Forget it. Even if I live, even if I could find someone who could live with my secrets, there is nowhere to settle down, nowhere safe for my kids... Nothing showing in her face through her usual pinched frown, she held her head up and walked on, not bothering to sneak. Whoever had arranged that little trick--because A.C. was too sure of her own feet to believe it had been her accident--already knew where she was.
A spy may be dead before she begins, but that doesn't mean she can't walk dead with dignity.

/Dead with dignity is still dead/ The Seer's voice spoke into her mind, and her mind alone. /You have so many thoughts. Your mind is cluttered and filled with your many musings and questions, yet for all the thoughts you have, you think so little/ The Seer appeared in front of her, hands crossed behind his back. /I have watched you, as I have watched everyone else here. You have made friends, you have enjoyed the stay here. You have also killed many inhabitants of this city, but that was excused/ The Seer's blank face stared at her. /You have betrayed the ones here that would call you friend. Is this because you are such an excellent spy, or would you call them friend as well?/
