Kennedy's exhaustion made her more like a ragdoll than a person. She managed to press against the wall as a greenish demon rushed on by. What that really a demon? Either way, he too seemed to be just waking up.

She dangled down each step to make it to the first floor. Everything still seemed cloudy. Everything from the "awakened" real side. She still felt, dazed and in a dream. But it wasn't. She was awaken.

"That was some power nap." Her lips spread open as a yawn escaped them. Kennedy finally made it to the first floor. Her hands hugged her arms, almost rubbing for warmth. Food seemed like a good idea, but her mind wanted some fresh air. Maybe that would clear up the haziness.

Oz kissed Willow’s hand. He then kissed her nose. He let his fingers play around with hers as he gazed into her eyes. It was almost like a fantasy.

“Willow, I don’t know what is going to happen after this, but I want you to know that all I’ve ever wanted was you...to be...with you.”

Oz held Willow’s hands. Her fingers still scented a bit of sage. But Oz did not mind nor care. It was Willow’s hand. That’s what mattered.

Oz arms. Oz hands. Oz lips.
She was enveloped in Oz. And though a part of her felt detached, most of her had never been happier.... except that time with Tara.. but that was magically enhanced, she considered.
"Let's just sleep, Oz... or not... But let's just stay here."
Then her stomach rumbled.
"Or food.. food would be good."
She thought that it might be a good thing Kennedy was in a coma, then flinched at the terrible turn her mind made. There was nothing good about it.
But another part of her couldn't help thinking that karma was a b***h.
"Hungry?"
She kissed him on his lovely Oz lips, then sat up shyly, draping the sheet around her.

Buffy squeezed Angel's hand.
"I'm sorry.. and we'll talk more later. But wouldn't you like him gone? The sooner the better? Then we need to get this done and over with."
She turned back down the stairs.
"Ok, Riley, talk. And my friends are none of your business... not anymore."
She felt bad being rude- but if it was a choice between Riley being pissy and Angel having hurt feelings... Well that wasn't really a choice at all.

"Alright, first of all Major a*****e...I'm probably closer to human than you are!" Lorne mentioned. He barely ever cussed and when he did...it had to be someone he really didn't like. "Second of all...why are we housing this Devil of a man in the mansion? If he's here, I'm out! After what he's been doing with that thing called the Black Cross...or WHATEVER!"

Riley did a double take at the demon with the lisp and the oh so stylin' clothes.
"How the hell-" he grabbed the demon by the lapels of it's shirt and tugged "-do you know that word? And where do you get off calling me anything?"
He released him quickly when he caught the glare in Buffy's eyes.
"Let me explain...."
He stood in front of the fireplace, as if he were the president about to make a speech.
"You know what Sam and I were doing, Buffy, in South America. We'd been wrapping up a particularly nasty case, in which we'd lost half the retrieval team, when Sam was called in on a consult. Apparently a herd of Mohra demons had taken out an entire family, leaving one barely alive. He would have died had our other branch not been called in and taken him out."
He paused and looked at each and every being in the room dead in the eye for a few seconds.
"It's important that you understand that he. would. have. died. Period." Riley cleared his throat and paced to the bar, leaning his tall lithe body across the bar top to reach a bottle of blackberry brandy. He uncapped it and poured two fingers worth into a small glass. Taking a small sip, he savored the burn traveling down his esophagus and into his stomach. He licked his lips, tasting the tangy sweetness of the berry. Walking back toward the fireplace, he stood dead-center and stood with legs spread at shoulder width, left hand behind his back, military style.
"When it was ascertained that they would be unable to revive the victim, the scientific team was called in. They performed certain...." He stopped talking for a moment, considering, then shook his head slightly and continued."...necessary operations."
He took another small sip of the smooth liquor. Looked at Buffy.
"He was gone. The human part. After a 3 day incubation period, Test Subject 42A woke up. He far surpassed the expectations of the aforementioned scientists.
They called in Sam and myself. We're...."
Again he shook his head. "We're classified. Anyway, we did our thing. One night, due to an error in shift change, the subject escaped. We've since recovered him, and are running a full battery of test, as we've noticed certain faulty actions it's performing."
He grinned, lost in thought, half his mind back on the lab and the work that needed to be done.
"It's odd. He seems to be remembering things. In fact, it's claiming he has never forgotten." Riley's grin faded at the implications. But no. Impossible.
"As for the Watcher, that was a mistake, and he was unharmed."
He finished off the brandy and stood still, waiting for someone to say something.

"Don't touch me with your bloody tainted hands!!" Lorne shouted when he was grabbed and he pulled away. "Angelcakes, Buffy...don't listen to him. I saw what they were doing to Atticus this time...they weren't helping they were...cutting him up...making incisions...and worse is to come, I've seen it!"

An idea suddenly struck Lorne. He looked back over toward Riley and said, "Sing for me, Soldier boy. Just sing."

Buffy had been about to speak when Lorne began to flip out a bit. She waited until he was done, then looked at Riley, who seemed fine, no matter how much he'd had to drink.
Gotta love military training, she thought.
"Where is Atticus now, Ry? Cuz... I think you might be wrong. And you know what's gonna have to happen if you are wrong."
She tilted her head, wondering where the sweet and kind Riley had disappeared to.
Was it her fault? Was it the wife? Or was he always just this.... blunt, and she hadn't seen it?
"Maybe you should.. you know... sing. Angel will if you will.. Right?"
She stared imploringly at Angel and waited for a response, begging him with her eyes to agree and get this all over with.
Then she realized she'd never heard him sing. Or Riley, for that matter. How odd.

"Fine." Angel gave in, knowing he had nothing to hide. "It won't be anything new...Lorne's heard it before." Angel turned to his green friend, cleared his throat and sang out...

"Oooh Mandy...
Well you came and you gave without taking...
but I sent you away, ohhh Mandy.
Well you kissed me and stopped me from shakin'...
And I need you today oh Mandy..."

Lorne hissed and recoiled a bit.

"Yeah, Angelcakes, you can stop singing now..." he mentioned, then turned to Riley. "Your turn."

"Actually, food sounds like a good idea."

Oz stretched a bit as he got up from the bed. He found his boxers and his pants. he grabbed his shirt and reversed it as it was still coiled up. He glanced up at Willow.

"...pancakes?"

Hopefully, the kitchen had strawberries to go with them.

Just as Kennedy reached for the front door, she could hear a faint singing, and not the best type of singing either. She couldn’t help it as she decided to follow that voice. Who was singing? Why would they? Kennedy came upon some stairs and continued to follow the voice. At the door, slightly ajar, she could hear some talking.

Although she did her best to make out the owner’s of those voices, Kennedy still had the strong urge to go outside. And food.

"...pancakes..." Sounded good. What time of the day is it, anyway?

Kennedy sighed as she decided it best not to go into the room. Her pace continued to move slow, her hands continued to rest upon her arms. She headed back upstairs, just as slow as she did to come downstairs from the bedroom.

Willow simply threw on a long shirt, not bothering with pants, and nodded in response to "pancakes". It was pretty late, and the Slayers would either be in the basement training, or out slaying... or hopefully sleeping. She stepped into her fuzzy rabbit slippers - she'd missed not wearing these when poor Anya was still around - and opened the bedroom door and stepped out, smiling. She turned at the doorway to plant a long slow kiss on Oz. They stood there in the doorway for a moment or two, completely oblivious to the fact that Kennedy was only a few steps away.

Phoenix decided she'd better show these two to a bedroom.
"Listen, I'm not really the housewifey type.. not really good at all that crap, but let me help you with your suitcases and show you a room."
She headed out, waiting on the two newcomers to follow her, and began going upstairs, holding Wesley's suitcase.
Hopefully he takes her suitcase from her, Phoenix thought about that country looking girl, because that girl was skinny.

Oz shimmied his shirt over his chest, pulling it down completely. He decided to be bare foot, thinking nothing of it. Oz met up with Willow at the door, rubbing her chin ever so lightly. He grasped her hand and was ready to walk down the hall. Oz remembered where he was.

“Oh…uh, maybe we shouldn’t…”

He let her hand go, the soft hand that he yearned to keep near him. But he knew he was right. At least for now.
