I'm the lucky leader of the french horn section in my band. next year, i hope to move up to wind emsable. This Year was my first year in the Renegade Regiment. Over the summer and fall marching season, we had a mellophone section of two... it was sad. But now I know my marching section leader a little too well biggrin

French Horn FTW. (Mellophone too!) I'm also the section leader, and the only girl too. >_O
I love the French Horn, but at my school, everyone who plays the French Horn is really mean. crying
I can't wait until Marching Season, I'll finally be able to hang out with all my friends who went off to High School. biggrin

i'm totally not even a brass player,
but i've gotta say...
in concert band set up, clarinets sit next to the french horns,
and french horns KICK a**.
esp. our. they're amazing.
go french horns!!!!! :]]]]

Power to teh Mellos! MArching band rocks(What can I say I can't sit still long enough for concert lol).
Hi there. Name's Blake, And I'm a 4th year horn player. Lower register's my niche. Two octaves below of the B-flat scale is purty dang good in my book.
My favorite song is Alegro Barbaro, by Bartok, because I get to play loud (Fortissitissimo dramallama ) and play along with the Trombones(must resist....joke...) and Tubas(plus the Bassoon.)
Other info about me: I've been playing the Trumpet a year longer, and next year I'm switching back, and will(hopefully)be 1st chair/leader of the Wildcat Band of Class Trumpet section.

I have to say.... um.... let's see.... how do I put it. MELLAPHONE SUCKS (I switched over to purcussion for marching this year). Frech horn kicks butt though. I have a really good horn too. If you ever need help finding a good horn, just PM me.

i play french horn! im also the section leader actually the only horn player in my band but it rocks anyways!! i started in 8th grade and still going through high school.. im sophmore at Boise High school!! xp i cant wait for solo festival i have a kick a** solo that im working on!!!

mello does suck to march b/c of the huge bell, but hey, its awesome anyway. the past few years our marching band had a one person mello section, last year it was me. i'm tryin to teach my flutest bf to play mello. he keeps bugging me about it. hopefully our band director will let him. he's amazing at the flute, so mr. b wont let him change to horn or anything. so mello would be next best. we've got seven school mellos, two of which are in decent condinion to play.. i'm origonally a trumpet player but mellos are sweet too.

I'm a horn player and second chair/co section leader at my school. We only have one guy. But our section is like a family. I love playing my horn.

I love playing my horn. It is definitly the beft instrument ever. Also, it is the HARDEST brass to play and has the widest range. Take that trumpets!!!!
