Hmm... out of every music thread post, ash prolly comes in first in frequency, I've had by far the LONGEST posts (just see my thread xD) and hornfreak has appeared everywhere!

: ) Just remember we're not allowed to refer to him by his first name anymore.

Oh, and today was my last day of spring break. That means no more lazy afternoons of playing my horns and posting on Gaia.

I hear ya buddy crying and I have to march to prepare for band trip (we learned Army of the Nile for 1 performance! ><) But I did have fun over break, with the new mouthpiece and students plus I finally got my permit and finished writing that song I wanted!
To keep this post on topic, this midi has the alto line as being clarinet : ) enjoy!

today we had sectionals. they were pretty horrible. I never realized how many of our band's 14 clarinets couldn't play, so I pretty much had to hold the section together. oh, and I learned today that in past compitions, our band got superior on most of them. eek
our compitition this year is at kings dominion (i think it's in ohio or something) on may 20, but I won't be going. I hope we do good...but at least i can't be blamed for what happens there. mrgreen

I finally went to one of our sectionals today too, and I felt bad because I felt like the only one playing 90% of the time... our section leader was conducting, and everyone else can't sightread. I ended up having to play the 3rd part so that SOMEONE could play it, even my stand partner was being timid and missing notes and entrances.

flaming ninja-xD sectionals...so hectic....its so hard getting them together and conducting them @_@;! Anyways, >w< we get superiors all the time too biggrin our sixth graders got straight superiors this year...better then us in sixth grade O-O, remarkably!

originally, we were all going to regionals, but there is no more room for us or something like that D:

woo clarinet? I'm a clarinet freako weirdo.. I don't play anything else, except maybe recorder but only cuz it's super easy. I'm really dedicated to clarinet though. I play in the orchestra and wind ensemble and also I'm going to NYSSSA this summer. Um - I guess that's all I have to say about the clarinet.

So! Who here knew that Alan Greenspan studied saxophone at Juilliard?

CRAZY.

so is it warm all year round there? I live in what people in NYC would call a hick town in Pennsylvania. (I don't live on a farm in the middle of nowhere, but still...) at least we don't get any natural disasters, but we don't get any big malls either or anything. it was like 36 degrees Farinhight at like 10 this morning, but no snowfall this year. I wonder what the timezone difference is. isnt it so cool to communicate with someone you don't know across the country?

back to the topic... I'm sorry that you can't go to regionals. I wonder why the people organizing it didn't kick the crappy bands out and stick your band in.

Hi!!! I'm in 8th grade and I've played the clarinet for... 2 1/2 years. I love playing the clarinet and I would have started earlier but my school only offers it in 6th grade. We also had a few other problems so I wasn't able to get a clarinet right away. Next year I start the Marching Band exsprence. I can't wait.

so you've never went sled riding? or had to march the christmas parade in ankle-deep snow? do you ever get school cancellations/delays because of weather issues?

my pretty white ugly band shoes got a pretty nasty color on them after marching in snow. xd

NY gets lake-effect snow, which is when moisture from the great lakes come over on the SW winds and it turns into snow. what about ocean-effect snow...
