"Oh wow, your dad sounds so cool! He trains fresh Pokemon too? I do the same! I haven't trained a new team in awhile though...hm...maybe..." Nemona said, he eyes drifting off to the side as she began to stare off into space, her mind quickly becoming consumed by the thought of training and battle Pokemon. Florian would look to her and note that look in her eyes. "...Nemona is having a moment, don't mind her." He told Tristen, so he wouldn't wait for her to say anything, because she wouldn't, she was elsewhere mentally at the moment.

"Aww!" The boys whined, disappointed as they began to hang their heads, not the response they wanted from big brother Tristen.

Upon hearing her name being mentioned Fela tuned back into the conversation and nodded along in agreement with Tristen. "It was very scary, I must admit. I mean, seeing pictures of a Dragonite, or even at a distance I imagine, is one thing. Heck, you see a picture of it and you think it's cute and friendly but it's different being up close with one. Tristen's Dragonite is very well trained but that doesn't mean it's not intimidating and you can feel that if it wanted to hurt you then it easily could. I certainly was scared at first, even though it is a very well behaved Pokemon." Fela answered, complimenting Tristen on how well behaved his Pokemon was.

"Speaking of Pokemon are you two going to turn Vivillon early or just wait for the deadline?" Penny asked Tristen and Fela, the question relevant since Tristen was back and Vivillon was reacquired. "Camp and I are going to try and keep training until the last day, maybe we can get out Spewpa to evolve. Right, Camp?" Penny asked the Bug Catcher, now looking up from her phone.

"Hm? Oh uh...yeah, sure." Camp said, barely aware of what Penny had said, he must have got to a good part in the magazine. Penny just rolled her eyes.

Yea, it was official, Nemona didn’t know that his father was the so-called ‘Noble Hybrid’. Otherwise, that would have gotten her to practically fly out of the seat at this point if he was as famous as he ended up being in these parts, if albeit unintentionally. He’d figure to do his father a favor and not bring it up around her. “Uh…right.” Tristen said staring at Nemona in confusion for a moment on confirmation of Florian. Looking over towards Penny, he would nod. “Anyways, um…I mean, I don’t mind any which way if we turn in early or not, but I been meaning to ask. I know why we ultimately was assigned to raise Scatterbug to Vivillion and all, but something had been bothering me about that: when we are to release the Vivillion out to the wild to let them go about their whole life cycle, including but not limited to mate with other Vivillion and make Scatterbug, what makes Mr. Jacq convinced they’ll just…go?” Tristen asked. “These Pokémon were taken care of for a whole month. What would actually convince say our Vivillion or your bug Pokémon to actually go do that and not want to just stay? I mean, I don’t want Vivillion to think that we’re…you know, trying to abandon it. I’m not even sure too much that it realizes what a science project means.” Tristen said, rubbing the back of his head.

Penny and Fela in response to Tristen's question, the girls unsure as how to answer him. It was a good question, a very good one, these were human raised Pokemon now that have become bonded to their trainers, especially the Vivillon Fela and Tristen had raised. What did convince Mr. Jacq that the Pokemon would just happily return to the wild without issue? Certainly the teacher had an idea of what would happen, this couldn't be the first time he gave out this assignment, right? "I...don't know...?" Fela responded first, trying to think of an answer but finding herself unable to create a good one.

"I don't either." Penny concurred with her fellow female. She would then look to Camp who still had his nose in his magazine. "Hey, Camp, what do-" Before she could finish her question Camp would begin to answer said question, showing that he was listening, just wasn't looking at them.

"Some Bug Pokemon are driven by hormones that coincide with the seasons and other factors. Maybe he's timing the release of these Pokemon with that in mind. I know Vivillon do have a certain time of year where they fly off to mate and do their thing. You might think Vivillon is just that attached to you but you might be surprised by its reaction when given a mate and the choice to fly off with said mate. I've heard stories of Butterfree in Kanto that shock their trainers by just taking off without a second thought. And you can't be mad at the Pokemon, it's just what they do, what their nature tells them to do." Camp responded without taking his eyes off the magazine.

After that discussion began to wrap up the lunch bell would ring, informing the students lunch was over and it was time to head to class before the next bell rang to mark the beginning of class. With that done Tristen's friends would begin to stand up and get their things together. Like usual E. and B. needed help with Matteo assisting them this time to get their place cleaned and their belongings together. Camp and Penny would get up and saunter off themselves, Camp with his nose in his magazine and Penny in her phone. Florian would manage to get away before Nemona, the girl actually attempting to ask Florian something about the next gym he would face only for Nemona to realize that Florian was well ahead of her, Nemona running after him. Fela would be the only one to kind of hang back with Tristen as she got her stuff together.

"...so what happens if Camp is right, what if Vivillon just...goes?" Fela asked Tristen as they walked. "I mean, it seems really attached to you, do you think a Pokemon can just discard its feelings for its trainer like that so easily? Are hormones or whatever that powerful?" The young girl asked. She really didn't understand it all, this topic suddenly causing the girl to question what she knew about Pokemon. She would walk with Tristen all the way out of the cafeteria and down the hall way until Tristen got to his next class.

As Tristen polished off his meal as he listened to Camp, it did leave a lot to speculate. As the bell rang, he got up and started to get his spot cleaned up. Once he got up, he left the cafeteria with Fela and apparently this conversation sort of unnerved her more than even Tristen expected. Tristen shook his head. “I don’t know.” Tristen would say in reply. “I do know at the very least is that it may not look like it, but Pokémon are like us in some ways, in that they have their wants, needs, likes, dislikes…overall feelings like happiness and sadness. Humans don’t really know the depths of it like a hybrid would. A lot of people would think that Pokémon are a lot more tied into nature and runs on primarily instinct and usually, that’s true…if it weren’t for a trainer being an unknown factor into it. Blizz told me one time that when you capture a Pokémon straight out of the wild, you train them, you evolve them, make them strong, get them capable of things they never once could before when they are out in the wild. But in doing so, the Pokémon ends up giving up a big piece of their autonomy. They end up being dependent on you to provide for them just as you depend on them to travel the region with you, win Pokémon battles, and so on. They trust their lives to you. In some ways, they become like you. In that, it will determine if a Pokémon will grow closer to you or if you’re bound to have problems and the Pokémon end up disobedient, kind of like how Matteo’s Shelgon is right now for the time being.”

Tristen had to think for a second about the conversation again then looked back towards Fela as he walked forward. “Camp could be right. Vivillion at the moment became attached to me, especially after it came looking for me soon after it evolved, but that’s just for right now. When we end up releasing Vivillion, Vivillion may want to go off, maybe feel it needs to. But it could also very easily feel conflicted too as to rather to go or to stay. Its nature fighting what was nurtured as long as it was with us for the past month. Though I can’t really deny what also Camp said. I also heard about the Butterfree in Kanto going off like that. In fact, if I remember right, there’s a spot somewhere between Celadon City and Saffron City where trainers actually let their Butterfree go to find a mate if they can. I guess when the time comes, we’re just going to have to support Vivillion in any which way it decides. If Vivillion wants to go, we’re just going to have to let it. It wasn’t meant to stay with us anyways, as bad as it sounds, and we can’t convince or guilt it in any way to stay. It’s not our place. If Vivillion wants to stay, then it stays, though I don’t know if Mr. Jacq is going to agree with that. If Vivillion is unsure, then we have to at least assure it that no feelings are going to be hurt if it goes or stays, and we have to mean it, but emphasize that this is probably going to be its one chance.” Tristen said to her. “I suppose we’ll just have to find out what happens when it gets to that time. Anyways, this is where I turn off…see you in homeroom, Fela.”

Tristen would separate from Fela and started to make his way off to Ms. Raifort’s classroom. The more that Tristen thought about it though, Tristen wondered if there was any way he could have put a positive spin to what he told Fela out in the halls. Though in that, Tristen had suspicions. It was what he feared a little to begin with: Fela had grown a bit attached to Vivillion herself after having raised it for the past month and there may be a bit of potential separation anxiety. How a Pokémon could just potentially up and bolt when nature calls. He couldn’t blame the girl, however. Tristen would harbor those thoughts as he made his way into Ms. Raifort’s class and to take a seat.

With Fela and Tristen separated, off to separate classes, Tristen would find his way into Ms. Raifort's room, finding the usual suspects in Matteo, Camp, and Florian already seated and ready to learn. Before long Ms. Raifort would enter the classroom and shortly after that the bell would ring, indicating it was time for class to begin, the woman shutting the door to her room and proceeding to turn her focus on her students. "Good day, class, how are we today?" She asked, the students responding aloud with words such as 'good', 'okay', and one person saying 'I don't know'. There was always at least one jokester.

Satisfied with their responses Ms. Raifort proceeded to get to today's lesson. "So class, who here has heard the tale of the Treasures of Ruin?" She asked, her eyes scanning the faces of her students for hints of familiarity with what she said. "I see that term isn't familiar to you, I'm not surprised, it's not a well known tale." She said, turning to the giant screen on the wall behind her, tapping on it to bring up pictures of what looked like an assortment of items, four in total. A sword, a cauldron, bamboo tablets with writing on them, and a set of curved beads. All of them were drawn in a very old and stylistic ink brush style, by artists long since deceased.

"The Treasures of Ruin were said to be four artifacts that came from a distant land, far from the shores of Paldea. It is said during their time in this distant land the artifacts absorbed the negative emotions of the humans that possessed them or that of the humans they were used against. The sword absorbed the hate of those slain by it. The cauldron or vessel the fear of those subjected to the cruel rituals it was utilized in. The tablets the grudges of those who chronicled the evil deeds of their king on them. And the jewels he envy of those who desired them so much that wars were fought over them." She explained, changing her slide to that of a ink brush drawing of a man and a ship and another drawing of the same man kneeling before a king.

"The story goes in time the four treasures would fall into the hands of a merchant who brought the treasures to Paldea and presented them to the then Paldean king as tribute. The treasure obsessed king happily took the treasures and stored them away with his other treasures and vast riches, however his greed would be his undoing." With that she changed to ink brush drawings of a landscape on fire with the four treasures floating in the air above the flames. "The king's extreme greed would prove to be the catalyst to awaken the evils in these artifacts, giving them life. The awakened Treasures of Ruin would then go berserk and rampage across the land, wrecking havoc across the kingdom, nearly destroying the entire Kingdom of Paldea. Eventually, at a great cost, the Treasures of Ruin were defeated and sealed away in hidden locations so that no one may get their hands on them again." With that she went to the last slide which presented a question, 'Can folklore be based in reality?'

"That brings us to today's lesson; can folklore be based in reality?" She asked the class. "That story I just told you about the Treasures of Ruin, do you think it's a historical fact or a fantastical tale? Most people believe the later, that it's just a fairy tale to explain what happened to the old Kingdom of Paldea, why it suddenly disappeared from history and a new civilization rose from the ashes. Whenever historians note a civilization collapsed quickly they try to explain the cause behind the abnormal collapse in any way possible and sometimes tall tales are created to explain the mystery collapses, such as the Treasures of Ruin. So class, can you think of any folklore you know about that you think might not just be people trying to explain mysterious events with fantastical tales but are actually true, just exaggerated? I've compiled packets of information on various folktales from around the world and I want each of you to pick one and try to justify why the folktale might be grounded in reality, your job to convince me that it's not just a tall tale. Now then as I call your name come up and pick your packet of folklore." Ms. Raifort said, explaining today's assignment. What would Tristen pick when he was called up?

(You can pick any Pokemon world folklore you can think of, real world adjacent folklore, or make up your own. Maybe even a modern conspiracy theory like the red Gyarados or something.)

Tristen made his way in, giving a wave to his friends as he went on by and took a seat down, getting his materials down ready for the note taking. It wasn’t long before Ms. Raifort would show up to get started with the lesson and much to Tristen’s surprise, this was a change of pace out of her. She was actually trying to put her own flavor into her lessons instead of going off out of a book. Tristen was convinced now that she didn’t have the time to put any effort into her classes, considering that she was focused with Team Snagem and the herba mystica. Tristen would take note of the Treasures of Ruin and the lore about them; but Tristen found it weird that she was trying to talk about a folk tale instead of actual history. Until the swerve that is…

How much of a folktale had a basis in reality. Tristen stared in confusion for a moment, only to then gasp out a slight laugh to himself, quickly restraining himself. In his time with Snagem, part of what the team has dealt with was stuff straight out of legend, fading into deeper and deeper myth. Heck, at least part of the team carried some sort of artifact that they channeled with that hailed from some obscure time from places possibly unknown. Tristen was fairly confident that no matter what Ms. Raifort dropped on him, he could refer to someone that could point him to the right place and he could blow this lesson wide open. Tristen would wait patently to be called, then got up once he did. He would walk to her desk and started to look at the various packets. The three blades of Unova and the fourth who wished to join them. Tristen knew who exactly that meant…one that he was familiar with especially, Cobalion, thanks or no thanks to the Challenger’s cave challenge. That one hit a little closer to home, now that he thought about it. He’d leave that one alone. The Invasion in Alola and the guardians who defended the region was a little intriguing. As he skimmed the packet real quick, he noticed notes on how otherworldly invaders apparently came into the region and they were fended off by the island guardians. Tristen did hear about such guardians before in his brief tenure in Alola. The fabled Tapu, presumably, but who were the invaders? An allegory? Or something literal? Tempting. It was something to look into. Finally, something that caught his eye…something that he didn’t have any prior knowledge into. The heroes that defended Galar from a calamity. One bearing a shield, one bearing a sword. He didn’t hear anything about that when he went to Galar for the World Tournament. Barring the Pokémon that could become gigantic when exposed to the Dynamax energies, it seemed a pretty typical region compared to most. It…actually intrigued him. He’d take the packet consisting of the Galarian folklore and make his way back to his desk.

Tristen would receive his packet and be sent back to his desk to read it over, the rest of the class receiving theirs in time. Ms. Raifort would then declare that they have the rest of class to read their packets and come up with ideas for their arguments for why the folklore might be grounded in reality. They also were given the option to call upon the teacher herself to receive input and aid during the rest of class time, turning today's class into essentially a study period with access to the teacher and some books she had checked out from the library concerning all these topics. This also meant that this would be homework, their arguments to be turned in the next time class was in session which meant the day after tomorrow so this gave Tristen some time to really put the effort in.

Whether or not Tristen called upon Ms. Raifort's aid, which she would provide whatever he requested, the rest of the hour would go by and before he knew it the bell rang. Ms. Raifort would perk up as the bell went off, having been distracted by assisting a student, turning her attention to the class before she released them. "Alright, that's it for today. Remember class your assignments are due on Thursday. If you need any help you may stop by after school, my door will be open for an hour past school hours. Also you may take any books I have here with you but I do need them back on Thursday. With that said class is dismissed." Ms. Raifort said, releasing the class to their next period.

As the students funneled out Matteo and Camp would slow down to meet up with Tristen as they all exited the room, Camp speaking first. "Which one did you guys pick? I found one about strange bug-like Pokemon that were said to appear in the sky above Alola! People say they were aliens from outer space, even one of the local kahuna swears by the story but I don't know." Camp explained with a chuckle.

"Bugs from space? Yeah right. Any who, I picked a story about a Ninetales said to have cursed humans, turning them into Pokemon. I'm sure this is just an allegory about the origins of hybrids or something though." Matteo explained. With that they both turned their focus on Tristan as they walked down the hallway.

Once he was allowed, Tristen would start studying the packet carefully, reading over the lore that the packet had on the topic offhand. He needed to parse every word carefully, just as Freth had once explained to him. He was tempted to give her a call, now that he thought about it, since she was more of a delver in this sort of thing than he was. But that would be a last resort, he’d think. It was his assignment, after all.

As he read on, Tristen started to study carefully, trying to see if he couldn’t draw any parallels to what he had seen in the Galar region. Thousands of years ago, a light was seen in the skies that fell upon the land that would be known as Galar. And from that light, a storm would emerge that darkened the skies that brought about “The Darkest Day”. The Wild Pokémon would go beyond the threshold of insanity, many of which would become colossal in power as they were in stature as they rampaged. Two youths would answer the people’s plea for help from the blight that have covered their skies and made the Pokémon of the land at their fiercest. A grueling battle would unfold which brought light back onto the world and for their efforts, the two youths would be crowned as kings to lead the lands and protect them should another dark day should occur. On any other day, it would have sounded uncanny, but to Tristen…this was Tuesday. It was just trying to figure out what happened.

One standout thing was Pokémon becoming colossal. Immediately, Tristen figured the Dynamax phenomenon that the Galar region cherished to this day, but he never recalled anyone mentioning the phenomenon making a Pokémon go insane. His father Dynamax’d his Articuno after all, and during the final bouts of the tournament, Tristen Dynamax’d his Gyarados, and bore witness first hand to Aden doing it to his Alcremie. And apart from turning Alcremie to a literal cake, nothing really changed. They were their usual selves during and after the battle. He did remember, however, how his adoptive father kept stating how the energy that emerged from it felt unnatural as can be but couldn’t place why. And even then, if it was the Dynamax phenomenon, what in the world did these ‘two youths’ do that made Dynamaxing a such good thing as opposed to something to be feared back in these ancient times? Regardless, it seemed like a good place to start unraveling this mystery. Not only he would probably end up going to the library later to see if there was more on this than what Ms. Raifort already borrowed, he’d probably end up getting putting GRAY to use via SNAG, since he still didn’t have a computer to use in his dorm room to do research on.

Tristen would keep Ms. Raifort’s offer for help in mind as to where to look later if he needed it. As the class ended, Tristen would stash his materials and start making his way out of the room with Matteo and Camp as they all went off towards Homeroom in Mr. Jacq’s class room. The three of them would talk about the packets they all took. “…I…wouldn’t doubt the ‘space bugs’ thing. Believe or not, we got something like that back at the headquarters. Apparently, there’s something called Ultra Space where super weird…things come from. I don’t really know much at all about it, we’ve been trying to figure that out ourselves. What we do know is that we ended up getting a really huge bug that looks like it has muscles that could make a Machamp envious. Its super strong too somehow. We couldn’t catch it really into a Pokeball because the Pokeballs have a super hard time recognizing it as an actual Pokémon but it stayed with us because…” Tristen winced, shaking his head, realizing that it was going to sound absurd, but it didn’t make it no less true. “…one of the Snagems flexed his muscles at the bug and we are thinking that it might have taken it as a message to be something like a mating ritual because it got really affectionate to him. I know, its crazy, and of all the stuff that we fought against, that is definitely the weirdest we ever dealt with, I think.” Tristen explained, and he was telling this to at least one someone that got mind controlled partially by a mushroom conduit. “We figured out that it only ‘talks’ in making muscle poses for somehow…I think…its super weird.”

Tristen would sigh for a second. “I ended up getting a packet of the legendary heroes in the Galar region. It gets into something that was called the “Darkest Day” which…I got the feeling that it might have something to do with that Dynamax stuff they have going on right now, but I don’t know how. Its something I’m going to need to look into.”

Camp didn't know how to respond to Tristen's retelling of the events that transpired with the Ultra Beast they came to know as Buzzwole, the Bug Catcher stopping dead in his tracks in the middle of the hallway, his mouth left agape as he watched Matteo and Tristen continue to move forward while he remained paralyzed by shock and awe. Matteo would notice that Camp was no longer with them first and stopped walking himself to look back and confirm that the insect fanatic was indeed no longer by their side and sighed. "Hold on, Tristen..." Matteo said, grumbling a bit as he walked back towards Camp, grabbed him by the arm and proceeded to escort him along. "Come on, don't be so dramatic...do you have a bug on you?" Matteo chastised Camp as he forced him to walk, stopping for a brief second as he thought he heard a buzzing sound.

"H-huh...?" Camp muttered, slowly snapping out of his envy fueled daze before beginning to pat himself down, as if he too heard the buzzing. "N-no...? Oh! I know what it is!" Camp said as it finally dawned on him what was previous buzzing, the boy pull out his Rotom phone, the device of course sporting a Bug type themed case. "Must have been my phone, I set a lot of reminders, when you got so many things to remember you take all the help you can get...hehe..." He chuckled, embarrassed as he waved his phone around a bit before pocketing it.

With a roll of his eyes Matteo would let Camp's arm go and begin to resume their normal walk to their next class, wanting to follow up with Tristen's topic. "The Darkest Day? Never heard of that, then again I've never been to Galar." Matteo admitted. "Kalos, sure, vacationed there before. Because of that all I know about Galar is that Kalosians dislike them and they love football, I might dare say even more than us Paldeans, and we really like football." He said, of course referring to what Tristen probably knew as 'soccer'. Camp and Matteo would have a bit of back and forth about football/soccer with Tristen being asked if he was into the sport, of which the two other boys seemed to be avid watchers and played from time to time. In the middle of their conversation however they would come up to the restrooms with Camp breaking off from the trio, wanting to visit the place before heading into homeroom. With Camp broken off Matteo and Tristen would enter Mr. Jacq's room together.

Upon entering they would find Penny, Fela, Florian and Nemona already in attendance, Penny keeping to herself like usual with her phone in her face and the other three hanging around Florian's desk just chatting as they waited for Mr. Jacq to show up, whenever that might be.

Tristen would walk down along side Matteo, until when Matteo told him to wait, he too ended up realizing Camp was practically frozen still. Tristen couldn’t help but to sweat a bead over the whole thing as Matteo tried to push Camp on forward. “Uh…something that I said?” Tristen couldn’t help but to utter. But then soon realize…that Ultra Beast was probably the dream bug for all intents for Camp. “Oh…” Tristen said, rubbing the back of his head. What’s worse, that thing was probably not going to be something Sol was going to be all too willing to parade around Paldea with. It was hard enough just bringing it…well…anywhere. Tristen couldn’t help but to give a sigh, mainly at himself for just saying such a thing rather casually. Especially around Camp. It was like bringing up any hint of battle with Nemona. Noted for later.

Once Matteo managed to shake life back into the bug catcher, Matteo got back on the topic of Tristen’s packet, which got him to bring up about taking a vacation to Kalos. Was that recent? Because if not, then that would have insinuated they were maybe caught up in the discrimination towards hybrids Kalos ended up pretty infamous for. And even then, Tristen wasn’t really sure if all of that actually cleared up. Though his father, rather he intended on it or not, did instigate something rather fierce when he went to the Battle Chateau. Tristen would then have to admit that he didn’t really watch soccer, football, or whatever someone preferred to called it and in truth, the first time he actually ever played it was while Matteo was gone for that brief period after the tournament in Ms. Dendra’s class. The three would carry on conversation until they made their way into Mr. Jacq’s classroom.

Tristen would take notice to his other friends already in the class room, but no Mr. Jacq…which didn’t seem surprising at this point. The teacher for as all Tristen knew could be late to his own funeral at this rate. Regardless, with the likes of Penny, Nemona, Florian, and Fela there, Tristen would make his way to them with presumably Matteo and Camp being close behind him. “Hey, everyone.” Tristen said to them, taking a seat close by to them. “Everything going alright?” he asked no one in particular. Part of him wondered if the last class distracted Fela from that whole introspection regarding Vivillion right after lunch or if it still was getting to her.

Tristen would be greeted by the gathered group with 'heys' and 'hellos', a friendly receptionist as to be expected. Once the pleasantries were finished Florian would speak up and address Tristen directly. "Nemona is going to take on the Victory Road challenge a second time. Even starting over with a fresh new starter Pokemon and catching a whole new team." He informed Tristen. Looks like that earlier discussion about his father quickly got to Nemona after all.

"Yep! I have a friend from Sinnoh who can get me a Chimchar egg too! You know, for something different this time as far as a starter Pokemon goes. Plus I feel like an Infernape would get along great with my buddy Quaquaval, he can teach the new guy some dance moves!" Nemona explained with a chuckle.

"Just as long as you don't get too carried away. The last time Nemona did the gym challenge Geeta, the chairwoman of the Paldean Pokemon League, had to ask her to slow down a bit and not go at the gyms so hard. She swept through the first three so hard and fast that it kind of embarrassed those gym leaders." Penny commented, filling Tristen in on a bit of Nemona's history.

"It wasn't my fault! They just couldn't handle my team." Nemona whined.

"Your team? You had a Quaquaval before the first gym! As a novice trainer! It took them out by itself!" Penny pointed out, Nemona chuckling nervously in response to this being pointed out.

Fela would just hang back and listen for this whole time and once Penny and Nemona started to go back and forth, with Florian in the literally middle trying to mediate, she just shook her head and spoke up. "Any who...did you want to let Mr. Jacq see Vivillon today? I don't mind." She asked her partner, trying to turn to any other topic than this one.

Tristen would take a mental note to himself as he listened to the bunch go on about Nemona getting set to take on the gyms again: warn his father. Apparently, she had taken everything to heart about what Tristen had said earlier and she is going well out of her way to take him on just to satiate the desire for a Pokémon battle, especially when people here, especially in her more immediate circle is rather hesitant to actually battle her. “Oh boy…” Tristen said, rubbing the back of his head. Tristen figured the odds of those two meeting wasn’t all that likely until perhaps at the end of the gym run, but at the same time, he had the distinct feeling that Nemona was going to press the issue probably a little too hard for her own good and try to hunt him down before then and battle him in whatever condition both his and her Pokémon are at.

Tristen, like Florian, couldn’t help but to look back and forth between the two girls putting their two cents in on the matter, and Tristen was left to wonder if Nemona ever once thought her battle frenzy had ever been a problem, because he was fairly sure that it has considering everyone else’s reaction to her, present company included. He would then turn away to pay attention to Fela as she asked about Vivillion and Tristen only shrugged. “I’m good to do it if you are. Maybe we can find out for sure about how Vivillion feels about stuff, too.” Tristen said to Fela. “Though…” He then started to look around the room, still finding the teacher absent, then looked at the clock. “…Mr. Jacq is about to be late again…”

Fela would nod in response to Tristen, also noticing that the teacher wasn't here yet but of course that wasn't too surprising, there had been many times where the class would be left to wait around for the teacher to show up well after the bell rang. Tristen's timing of his observation would be perfect as well as shortly after the bell did indeed ring and yet no Mr. Jacq. The other members of their friend group would just head off towards the seats now that the bell rang, expecting the teacher to show up eventually. Watching as they walked off she turned to Tristen. "Guess I'll go sit down. Want to take a bet on how long it takes him?" Fela joked with Tristen, not waiting for a response as she walked off towards her seat.

Mr. Jacq would show up several minutes after the bell rang, to the surprise of no one, carrying a plethora of papers and books like usual of which he dropped onto his desk with a sigh. Why the man carried so much stuff around him all the time was anyone's guess but anyone who knew Jacq knew that asking him about it would get you nowhere, he would insist it was all necessary to have on him and there was no other way to carry it around nor condense or digitize it. Like his tardiness it was just something everyone around him had accepted.

"Good day, class!" Mr. Jacq would greeted his students, leaning back as he stretched his back out. No doubt carrying around all that stuff all day did a number on one's back. "So, what shall we talk about today, class?" Mr. Jacq asked his students, looking to them for a good long while as if he actually expected them to earnestly answer that question and them decide what he would teach today. However in time he would break his own silence with a laugh and turned to the giant screen behind him. "Pokemon reproduction." He declared, bringing up images of two Pikachu, one male and one female as far as one could discern by their tails. The teacher of course would get some sounds out of the class but would sternly implore them to be mature about this.

Mr. Jacq would then spend a good chunk of class describing the basics of reproduction in Pokemon which at its core also applied to humans and most hybrids but the focus was on Pokemon and some of the unique aspects of Pokemon production like how all Pokemon lay eggs, which humans and some hybrid do not, or how some Pokemon are incapable of reproduction at various stages of their evolutionary cycle. Some of the things touched on were of course the role gender played and the lack thereof, how traits get passed down from parent to child, how some abilities can effect how quickly eggs hatch, and so forth. A lot of this information Tristen no doubt already knew so when it came time to fill out his short pop quiz the boy would be more than prepared.

Once the class had finished the pop quiz and all the papers were turned back in Mr. Jacq would spend the last few minutes of class bringing this lesson all back in and showing why it was relevant to the greater lesson being taught this quarter and that was the mating behaviors of Vivillon, Fela stirring in her seat as he started talking about it. Mr. Jacq would touch on one thing Camp had already brought up and Tristen concurred with, that being how some butterfly Pokemon like Butterfree and Vivillon can be controlled by their hormones when it comes mating time, that will readily fly off into the distant to find a mate. He would also point out how important it was, that while some of these Pokemon never perform the mating ritual most Pokemon professors insist that these Pokemon be allowed the choice as it can cause psychological issues in Pokemon that are denied their biological desires. Again, Fela did not like to hear this.

He would say one reassuring thing in that not all trainer owned butterfly Pokemon make the choice to go off into the sunset so this at least made Fela calm down a bit, maybe their Vivillon wouldn't. Eventually the bell would ring signifying the end of class, Mr. Jacq dismissing them and running out of the room to Arceus knows where, no one in the class even getting a chance to ask about their Vivillon project, let alone show them off. With Mr. Jacq gone and the rest of the students filing out Fela just sat at her desk, looking out the window.

Regardless what happened, Tristen basically expected to at the very least start trying to work on any homework that he had for the hour they were here. For the moment, he waited patently for the teacher to arrive, not really wanting to commit to anything until he got done talking to Mr. Jacq. Fortunately, it wasn’t too bad. Mr. Jacq would in fact arrive…late as usual. But much to his surprise, the whole easy going homeroom actually turned into a impromptu science class lesson. Guess it couldn’t always be that easy. As Tristen listened to Mr. Jacq explain the class, he started to realize this was actual familiar territory, things that were taught to him throughout his time in Snagem, some by his adoptive father, more so by Freth oddly enough, with the occasional input from Doc Owl. He was in fact pretty prepared for the sudden pop quiz that Mr. Jacq sprung on everyone just then.

It all started to come full circle when Mr. Jacq started to explain a Vivillion’s nature. Tristen grimaced a bit, as if he started to wonder if Arceus was toying with him right now. Hopefully he’d answer Fela’s questions and maybe not give her any false hopes just as he feared himself of doing, and oddly enough, actually did point out everything both Camp and he brought up around lunch time. Tristen glanced at Fela for a moment and it started to look like this topic wasn’t as comfortable to her as he’d hope it be for her. Tristen then started to realize something what he originally suspected…Fela grew a bit too attached to Vivillion. Something told him he probably had to keep a look out on her and make sure she doesn’t try anything crazy. This was, in fact, Vivillion’s choice after all. The topic drug on with the class all the way until the final bell of the day chimed, which caught Tristen off guard, looking at the clock nearby and nearly flabbergasted at just how this hour just flew on by. So much for trying to work on homework in here…

Tristen would pack up his things once more and he was about ready to leave, but he noticed Fela wasn’t necessarily moving. He shouldered his pack and walked over towards her desk. “Fela…?” Tristen spoke up, trying to see if he couldn’t break her out of whatever trance this was. “Are you alright?”

Fela would be broken from her trance by Tristen's voice, the girl responding to the sound first and then locating the source of the sound as she laid eyes on Tristen, for a brief moment looking as if she didn't recognize his voice. "Oh, Tristen." She said, chuckling softly as she too caught herself wondering who was addressing her. Had she been spacing out that hard? "I'm okay, was just...thinking..." She said, glancing over to the window for a brief second once more before standing up and proceeding to get her stuff together. "I need to get back to be dorm room, I got a tone of studying to get caught up on." She exclaimed as she sped up the process of packing her bag, she would catch Tristen's gaze as she turned around and froze up for a brief second before speaking.

"I uh...I'll talk to you later." She managed to get out before quickly shuffling past Tristen and out of the room. Tristen would have plenty of time to stop her and knowing Fela she would stop if he asked or he could just let her go, either way she was very shaken at the moment.
