"It helped that Kyrie was already at the clinic," Miyuki explained, "And she figured we should check out now rather than later."

She had to admit it hadn't taken them that long at all. Though she was happy, it meant she and Andarien could keep their Pokemon out for the rest of their stay if they wanted to.

"Any particular reason?" Lancaeriel asked, folding a top and putting it into her bag.

Wren moved to her own bed and picked up her own bag. "It's going to be noisy in a few days, when the New Year hits," she explained. "You finished what you hoped to do while we were gone?"

Lancaeriel smiled. "Yes. And if the city is going to become busier, then yes, perhaps it is best we go immediately."

Miyuki nodded in agreement as she packed the last of her things into the bag. She had technically been living out of the bag since she knew they would be moving eventually, but had kept some of her working supplies out.

Her current project being stasis runes for transporting perishable food items, coupled with the runes used to make the bags endless and light.

Once she was done packing, she waited for the others to finish so they could go back to the dining room together.

Wren wasn't far behind Miyuki, and Lancaeriel was the first one done, and then the three of them headed together to the dining room.

Kyrie was already there, chatting with Shiro, Kaito and Andarien, when the women entered the room. The boys had their backs to the doorway, but Kyrie was facing them and she waved them over.

Miyukii waved back as she made her way over to where Kyrie, and the boys were.

"All ready!" she grinned.

"Good," Kyrie grinned. "Then we're just waiting on your parents. I'm told they didn't go out our first day here, so they may take a bit longer. But Andarien has been telling me about your idea for earning some money. It sounds good."

"Miyuki's idea," Wren chuckled as she took a seat.

Miyuki shrugged a bit awkwardly, "Since needing to earn coin is going to be a common thing as we traveled I wanted something fun and useful. Being able to show people other lands, and tell stories of them would be unique and teach others what is out there..."

She paused for a moment and then took a seat as she then added.

"And maybe after a while bringing produce, styles or things from other lands that people clearly can't get where they live could be added to do that one day."

She had given it a lot of thought, especially as she work with the stasis runes were coming along. Probably because she often associated smells and taste to different places. She missed the strong spices of the Southland, and it had been a long time since she had a mango from Nauros. The piney smell of wood from the Westland she preferred more than even the sandalwood from the Southland.

Of course, Miyuki loved this sort of stuff. From the countries she had been to so far, she knew which produced the best leather, the best glass and the best weapons. She took note of styles in clothing and in jewelery in her mind. Depending on how long she had lived in one location she could even tell a person why certain styles and products existed.

Kyrie was impressed with how much Miyuki had thought ahead.

"And stories and song are something that are going to earn you coin wherever you are," she mused. "At least, if it's a place you're allowed to be. There are places you'll have to keep hidden, I won't lie to you about that. Still."

She smiled. "I am quite impressed. I hope you make good progress with those runes you're working on."

"So far so good, the concept is understandable, but I'll see once the testing starts if the practical is as easy as the theory," Miyuki replied with a wry grin, "Lancaerial had mentioned that those of us not elven need more vitamins from fresh fruit and vegetables, and the only way that's happening during Winter or as we travel up north is using stasis runes."

Which made this project a bit more serious than her usual fare because it had immediate health concerns for everyone in the group.

Kyrie nodded thoughtfully. "Would it be something like you did for the Pokemon?" she asked curiously. "I'm not entirely sure I understand how you made their Pokeballs work in the end ... but the concept sounds a bit similar to me. Or am I mistaken?"

She tilted her head slightly and leaned forward, genuinely interested in learning about the runes Miyuki seemed so adept at.

Miyuki nodded at this, since the Pokemon were technically in stasis themselves, jumping off from them was a good place to start.

"Yes, in some ways easier, I imagine it's unlikely there will be food stuffs larger than say the mouth of a bag or a small box. So a combination of what was used for the Pokemon and what is used for the travel bags would do the trick."

She was pretty sure at any rate.

"Just need to find a good storage container, one of the issues of the older travel bags is that they have no pockets, finding things in those bags are a bit difficult."

Which was why she opt for a bag with pockets so she could store things in different places, it was faster than rummaging around in them.

Kyrie's mind whirled as she tried to think of something that would suit. "Something that wouldn't attract too much attention would probably be best," she mused. "Otherwise you would make yourself a target for thieves in some areas."

Probably another bag with many pockets, she figured. Or a chest with different compartments that could be individually runed.

"Hmmm...." Miyuki nodded at this, "A chest would be allow for more compartments, I mean... I don't need them deep, they just have to be wide enough to fit."

She tapped a finger to her lip thoughtfully and then added.

"One day, I should think of some security runes to frighten off thieves and the like... Not sure what that would entail, maybe something from my first project."

"Your first project?" Kyrie asked curiously.

"Binding spells," Kaito grinned, his yellow eyes gleaming. "She used it on a dragon that was chasing her ... it didn't quite work."

Shiro frowned and smacked Kaito upside the head. "Baka," he muttered. He continued in Japanese, "That's not the sort of thing you bring up lightly. She nearly died there."

Miyuki waved it off, while it was still one of the most frightening moments of her life, she wouldn't deny she learned something from that experience.

"It's fine," she told Shiro, "I ended up using that as a learning experience to improve on the design. To be fair it wasn't meant for a dragon, I made it thinking of humans or elves at the most."

That being said the other most frightening moment of her life was when they were attacked by humans.

"So I extended the range, on even a juvie dragon the first ones it only tangled the ankles, and used more runes in a compact space to increase the power. Kind of like chains... it helps that scrolls make a wonderful medium for those kind of spells."

Scrolls, as anyone would say, were not practical for storing information. They were hard to unravel, even harder to ravel back, could get damaged more easily and were not very convenient. However, for very large arrays they were perfect. They could hold very large arrays, allow arrays to be powered easily when rolled up and unrolled quickly when throw revealing the runes underneath. Unfortunately it also made these kind of spells a one-shot wonder as scrolls tended to get ruined quite easily once thrown or used. Especially if you were going to use them on a rampaging dragon.
