((Welcome home Liv <3 No wifi, then... orz))
For a short while he took her up on her offer of just sitting there quietly for a bit, trying to figure out things for himself, not entirely sure if he should talk to her about it. But maybe a fresh perspective was what he needed, and she'd always been able to help him in the past. He knew Sil might get upset that he discussed it with someone else, but Liv always knew the right thing to say and he wouldn't mind to hear what that was, exactly.
"Sil is... still in love with Cross." He muttered, finally breaking the silence, his voice hesistant. "I didn't know... and I just... don't know what to think about it." He shrugged lightly to emphasize his confusion. "I mean... I love her, it bothers me, but I don't know if... I have any right to be bothered." With a sigh he slowly let himself fall on his back with a dull thud, dry sand billowing up around him.

She sat there quietly and kept her head on his shoulder, rubbing his arm gently through the silence. When he finally spoke and revealed exactly what was on his mind, her hand stopped. She knew already that Sil was still in love with Cross, but she also knew how much Sil was in love with Lavi. She definitely didn't want Lavi to think that she already knew and had kept it from him, it was just that it hadn't been her secret to tell. She pursed her lips a little and looked out to the ocean as he laid back in the sand. She was quiet for a bit, trying to think of the right thing to say.
She finally turned and looked at him, sighing a little, "It isn't easy to stop loving someone, even if you aren't together anymore. Regardless of things ending on good or bad terms, it's difficult to just let go of all the memories and little things you love about a person. And sometimes, a part of you will always love them, no matter how hard you try to expunge it."
She laid down on her side, propping her head up on her elbow with one hand under her chin, watching him. She lifted her other hand to the wet mop of hair atop his head, sweeping it from his face a little before she continued, "It's bound to hurt. And you have a right to be bothered by it. You always have a right to be bothered. Maybe she should have told you beforehand, I can't say...but I know that she loves you dearly. I know that she loved you first, and...I know what while she was in love with Cross? She never stopped loving you, either. Who knows if he knew it like you know it now, but. I knew it. Sil knew it. Her love for him has absolutely nothing to do with her love for you. You have always been in her heart, from the beginning, before anyone else. And you always will be."

Dr. Who again, Sil? emotion_donotwant I thought it wasn't appealing?))
As he'd thought, she always had the right words to calm his mind. The fact that Cross had actually been in the same situation before hadn't even crossed his mind, and he knew that Cross had been aware of Sil's feelings for him. He never had anything to offer her, though, as a Bookman, and when he'd risked their close friendship by asking her to be with him he had been prepared for a refusal. So he never imagined he had posed much of a threat to Cross, whereas the opposite was very true.
"I suppose you're right... as usual." He turned his head to give her an amused smile for a second before looking back up at the sky, sand sticking to every wet strand of hair. "It's just... it can't be easy... to be with me. I just worry she might regret it, in the end. The last thing I want to do is cause her hurt but it's the one thing I can't avoid. Wouldn't she rather... be with him?"

She smiled, glad that she had said the right thing, "I don't think that's something you can worry about. If she agreed to be with you, she wants to. She wants to take the risk. So you have to have faith in her judgment. And anyway, you have plenty to offer," she rubbed his arm again reassuringly.

"Yeah... I guess so..." He murmured, watching some seagulls fly by overhead. It was a fear he could never completely dispel from his mind, though, no matter how much he told himself she knew what she was doing. "I don't know about that, though." He laughed, not exactly convinced by her last words, but it was nice of her to say.

"Hey hey hey," she frowned at him, "I won't have any talk like that. I said there's plenty and there is. You're generous, kind, warm-hearted. You care deeply about those around you, no matter what. You're loyal, too. Unwavering, I'd say," she smiled and took his hand in hers, giving it a gentle rub, "And handsome, too~" she laughed a little, "You're my best friend, that's for certain. You're wonderful with Luci, so that's another good point. You have more than enough to offer anyone, and I'm sure that there are so many other things that words can't express, especially in Sil's heart and soul."

"Well, I didn't know I was such an amazing person." He laughed at himself, not really meaning the arrogance, just a little embarrassed with the praise. He sat upright again, brushing most of the sand from his hair with his free hand. "Thank you." He smiled warmly at her, ignoring the little voice in his head that was bitterly telling him he shouldn't be thankful for being thought of like that, that he wasn't supposed to be described like that. He didn't want to think about that at the moment. "I'm a little hungry... I didn't have breakfast." He looked to the resort for a second before turning his head back to her. "Do you want to get something to eat?"

She sat up as he did and started ridding her arms and body of sand, "No, I didn't either. I'd love to~" she stood up and brushed off her legs, "Shall we?" she smiled up at him and took his hand, lacing their fingers and swinging their arms, "Maybe we'll beat everyone there and we'll get all the freshest things to eat~"

"Yeah, maybe~" He laughed, amused by the way she was swinging their arms like they were children. He was in a considerably better mood than he had been earlier, which was often the result of talking with Liv. There were only a few people in the breakfast room when they got there, probably having a full day planned, and he took a seat at a table a little further away from the rest, not caring that he'd get the fabric wet and sandy.
