Smart move. I may lose this job soon because of the way the place is. It's making me a miserable person. I should not feel THIS depressed over the idea that I have to work tomorrow.

Well, there is:
-The stupid rules they put on every other day - We now can't have pens or paper at our DESK JOB!!! We also now aren't allowed drinks at a job where it involves TALKING FOR EIGHT HOURS!!!
-Supervisors that don't help for s**t! For real they will on purposely not do jack. They will straight up disappear right after it shows that we on the phones need help.
-Mixed Priorities for employees: There is jack s**t for background check, clearly. There was never a drug test. YET there is Business Casual attire.
-The sheer idea that we are supposed to sell s**t to the customer first, and help them second. It's all about sales. Internet deals namely. At this job you can potentially get fired for not selling anything to a customer for a long time. Keep in mind...its the winter time. So a SOLID majority of our calls are from customers calling because their land line home phones and DSL services are down due to bad weather. Understandable, we are STILL supposed to ******** OFFER OTHER ******** PRODUCTS TO CUSTOMER...even though their phone is out. "Oh, I'm sorry your phone has no dial tone sir, btw, do you want Direct TV, or a cell phone?" Oh yeah, and if you go a long period of time without selling anything, they get you in trouble because they think that they know that you're not offering. Keep in mind other possibilities: Customer in a collection status, the fact that customers may have the products already, the fact that they say NO to your offers, and the idea that the customer may need to go to another department.
-Oh, that's nothing compared to systems that don't ******** work. For real adding a simple feature to your home phone could take like half a god damn hour just cause that system is ******** S-L-O-W!! I had this call today, and went on for like forty minutes cause all my systems crashed. "I'm very sorry ma'am, I do appreciate your patience, but I do need a few minutes so I can bring my systems up, thank you for your patience." It's just madness causing.
-The fact that that number on the bill may lead you the wrong place so I got to transfer. U-Verse, Wireless, Business...all that same number. "Oh, this is a U-Verse account? I'm sorry sir but I need to send you to our U-Verse department."
-Oh there is this stupid rule about being a customer. Say you order DSL service with us, and there is a promo for 14.95 a month for the first twelve months. Your first two months will be charged regular price for that internet price. 45 bucks or so for two months. THEN it will shrink down to 14.95 and you will be credited back for those two months that you paid. Customers do ask "well...why not now?" and THEY'RE RIGHT!! Why not now?? I explain it to them and PRAY that they accept it.
I got more, man...

Its a very niche run place. Imagine a high school that converted into a call center. If you're popular enough. You can go hours without taking a call. Nobody would call you out, hell others might gather around you to gossip.
Also call volumes change from person to person. So you can take five calls in the same amount of time it takes another person to get one.
You know what? It doesn't matter anymore...I'm quitting.

Well, I'm looking into that here. Yes I know this was dumb, leaving this job. But I couldn't take anymore from that town at all. it felt no better than living here in Sac. When you're threatened with your job, your life, and your friendship. It felt like I was stuck.

Oh yeah. plus with the art of the resume spin, we can make that seem like a lot of stuff.
-Phone Skills -Customer Service -Sales
That sales part will definitely help.

Because I still keep contact with some people that work there.
You know that catastrophe that hit Japan? The one that still going on right now?? Well people with AT&T still can't reach people in Japan. SO Not only are there still calls about repairs for their home phones, now they get complaints about international calls. AND YOU STILL HAVE TO TRY TO SELL SOMETHING TO THE CUSTOMERS!!
"I am VERY sorry you cannot reach Japan, regardless of your possibly deceased relatives. Do you still want DSL?"
Black Or White?
