Hakaru shook his head, sobbing more, not wanting to lose her. "Mom and Dad will fight. I know they will! I-I want to help! I want to protect you!" he said, sobbing more onto Kai's shoulder, exhausting himself from just crying, on the verge of being sick.
Lunora Sighed and nestled into her husband's arms. "Father, can you handle this? I need some rest..." she muttered, relaxing in the wizard's arms, needing a bed.

"Of course," Otosan told Lunora, patting her head. Demetri nodded to his father-in-law, carrying Lunora gently up to the castle. He made it up the stairs to their room and put her to bed. He sat down beside her, running his fingers over her hair. "Things will work out," he whispered to her.
Kai started to wipe away Hakaru's tears, hugging him tightly and kissing his forehead. "Hakaru... I don't need to be protected. I'll go back to the ocean; I'll be safe, so you can leave and be safe yourself," she told him, stroking his hair back from his face.

Lunora sighed softly as she was put to bed by her husband. At least he remained at her side, stroking her hair. It comforted her. She moved some and rested her head on his lap, going into a light sleep to reclaim some energy.
Hakaru's sobs starting to calm a little as the mermaid stroked his hair. But he still held onto her as if she was being pried from his arms. He didn't want to be just shipped off. He wanted to stay with Kai. "I want to fight. I don't want to leave. This is my home. This is where I belong. Where we belong."

Kai sighed sadly. She knew there were other ways to convince him, but she knew that there was only really one good one. "No, Hakaru. This may be your home, but this isn't where I belong." She attempted to wriggle out of Hakaru's arms. She knew what she was about to say would hurt him, and it hurt her as well. "I belong in the ocean, with my own kind. I was going to leave eventually. This was never going to work out."

Hakaru released Kai when she wiggled out of his arms. What she said seemed to hurt him more than any blade or magic. He just looked away from her after she was done talking. He held in any more broken sobs as he just got up, shakily, and walked to his room, not even sparing Kai another glance. It would hurt too much to look at her.
He quietly went into his room and closed the door, locking it. He then pulled out a suitcase and quietly started to pack, getting clothes and a book or two. He left whatever shells and things he got from the beach in a drawer, closing and locking it as if to lock away the memories. And he continued on this silent activity of packing up his life and his broken heart.
[OOC:] That was depressing.

[OOC:] I wanna cry crying Kai swallowed hard as Hakaru left. She knew that she would never have said that if she didn't know this was life or death. Hakaru's parents wouldn't have asked Hakaru to leave unless it was important. She crossed her arms and started towards the castle slowly. She made it to her room and had closed the door before she started to cry. Sinking down to the ground, she cried into her knees, ignoring the fish who were asking what was wrong. Finally, when all the tears were gone, she stood, making her way over to them. She placed a hand in the tank, letting the seahorses swim over to her, and the starfish wrap around her fingers. Closing her eyes, she used her powers to transport them back to the ocean, setting them free. They all said goodbye to her quickly, assuring that they'd come find her. She looked around her room, swallowing hard as she caught sight of her disheveled bed, and left. She had grabbed a cloak from her room, though, and wrapped it around herself, pulling up the hood. She snuck out of the castle, heading down the path to walk back to the beach.

Hakaru soon had everything. His clothes, a few books, an old stuffed animal or two, and nothing of Kai. He was even abandoning the coat he had wrapped her in when he carried her back. Just too many memories. He picked up his suitcase and quietly left his room. He went to his mother's and opened the door a little. "I'm ready to go, father..."

Demetri looked up, frowning a little. How did Hakaru change his mind? He caught his son's expression, though, and decided he'd have to thank Kai one day, and possibly torture her with magic. He stood and walked to his son, putting a hand on the boy's shoulder. "Thank you. You need to find your brother and your grandfather. You'll be leaving with the wolves. Tonight."
Damian hadn't been able to find Mina, and he'd returned to his room, tossing some stuff together in a sack and sitting by his window, watching for the sparrow. He did catch sight of a hooded figure, leaving in the direction of the beach. He opened his window, taking a whiff, and realizing it was Kai. He frowned, wondering where Hakaru was, if Kai was leaving.

Hakaru just left the door, not reacting to his father's hand on his shoulder. He was too lost in his own grief to care at the moment. He quietly walked to his brother's dorm, ignoring all the bumps and teasings he got along the way. Once at his brother's door, he just knocked. "Father said we need to meet Grandfather. He's leaving tonight and will not wait."

Demetri watched as Hakaru left and sighed. He had no doubt now that Kai had said something incredibly harsh to get Hakaru to leave.
Damian opened the door and frowned at his little brother's expression. He didn't say anything, though, just grabbed his bag and followed Hakaru.
Otosan was standing at the head of the wolf pack, waiting for his grandsons. He knew this would be hard on a whole lot of people, but it was better than death.
Jethrow had gotten all the students together, and was telling them what was happening. There were a lot of shouts, a lot of tears, and a whole lot of scared expressions. Quite a few people said they would stay and fight, but a good amount of them started to say goodbye, intending on going home.

Hakaru led his brother to where Otosan was and waved a little, signaling they were there and ready to go. Both princes were put into a wagon and the pack was ready to move.
Lunora woke up as her young heir left. "Who was it Demetri?"

"Hakaru," he said with a sigh, coming back to sit by her. "He looked as though someone had ripped his heart out of his chest," he said quietly, wrapping an arm around his wife's shoulders.
Damian leaned against the side of the wagon, looking at his brother. He wanted to mention he'd seen Kai leaving, but he didn't want to say anything. His brother was clearly upset.

Lunora was clearly angry at this news, yet too tired to act. "If I see that mermaid again, I will strangle her."
Hakaru just curled up in a corner, bringing his knees to his chest and sat there, staring at the floor of the wagon. Normally he'd watch the castle slowly fade off into the coming fog bank or try to chat up Damian to get his mind off their parents. But he just sat there. Staring at the wood floor between the tips of his shoes. Quiet, motionless, and distant.

Demetri frowned, putting a hand on his wife's shoulder. "Think about it dear; do you think that Hakaru would have left otherwise?" he said softly. "I would have done the same thing at risk of being murdered by you," he pointed out.

"I hinted in no way of murdering her before. She did not know my intentions if she broke my son's heart. Who knows what that will do to him." she said going from angry to worried. She nuzzled up to Demetri. "I miss them already..."
