[[D:!! Give it a good kick? :D]]
Haro turned golden amber eyes towards the other, "I guess I should start to believe you since you say it all the time," he murmured with a faint smile while tucking canary yellow strands behind one ear. His gaze had already wandered to the area just left of the tiger. Although Shin was...was holding his hand Haro wasn't sure the level of affection he wanted to be showered with in public. Wei had often times told him that ...that some people didn't like when...when people showed that they cared for others in public, especially if...if- Haro didn't know why Wei had said people might get mad if he liked another boy...
Haro tensed for a moment before looking up quickly, "I-...uhm, thank you... I- I like...you too," he mumbled, dropping his gaze as he stared at the menu he had carefully set in front of him.

It was early. Very early and the weekend, so there weren't many people there. And the people that were there were all half-asleep or, at least, most of them were. Even the waitresses and other staff members seemed a bit groggy. Shin smiled at the other. "I'm glad... Haro... you don't know how much that means to me." Their food arrived - it was very fast service, especially with this few people - and Shin smiled happilly, taking in a deep breath. "Smells good, as always." The waitress gave him a broad grin and then departed - she was one of the full-time workers and knew Shin pretty well by now. It was very rare for him to be here with someone other than Ryan and, although she had been harboring perhaps small affections for him, it was good to see that he wasn't as alone as he usually seemed to be.
"Ahh... it's looks so good!" he said with a happy smile. He took the container of warm syrup and poured it on his pancakes. He hadn't had a bite yet, but his mouth was already watering. He cute a peice and ate it, his taste buds instantly becoming consumed with sweet delisiousness. "How are yours?"

Haro was still having trouble cutting up the flat looking cake...it didn't...look exactly like any cake he'd seen though (granted he hadn't seen many)... Finally getting a piece that wasn't far too big to between his lips, the boy chewed slowly, swallowing thickly before sputtering, "This...isn't a c-cake. I think they made mine wrong, 'cause... this tastes like bread or something," he said with a pout, stabbing a strawberry with a fork, nibbling at it idlely.

Shin chuckled. "Well, it's not a cake. It's a pancake... People used to make them because they were quick and easy to make and very transportable. Here," he murmured, picking up the bottle of syrup and handing it to the other. "Put this on the pancakes and it'll taste sweeter," he said with a smile, cutting himself another peice and eating it. He hadn't had pancakes in a while and he relished the sweetness.

[[Eeep, I was on the phone, sorry. xwx;;]]
"They shouldn't put the cake part in it, it is confusing," he mumbled with an almost sour expression, his cheeks bright red as he stared down at his plate. How was he supposed to know it was going to taste like...like a sort of sweet bread? Now he just felt stupid and of course his stupidity would be well known to Shin... Pouring a bit of the thick brown liquid over one perfectly browned flat cake (pancake, pancake, pancake, remember it!), Haro cut another piece messily (he still wasn't very accustomed to using utensils). With the already sweet factor due to the strawberries and now the syrup, the cakes were quite good. "Mnhmph, Shinm, theshe are goowd," the boy stated through bites, a mix of pinky strawberry sauce and sticky syrup running down his chin.

Shin smiled, trying to contain his laugh. "I'm glad you think so." He leaned forward and wiped the sweet, sticky sauce from the corners of the other's mouth with a finger and then stuck that in his mouth. "Mmm... I'll trade you a bit of my blueberry pancake for some strawberry," he said, grinning. He speared a peice of fruit from his own side dish with his fork and ate that with a neatly cut peice of pancake.

Haro almost didn't answer, his face burning once more. How many times in one day would that tiger make him blush as pink as his hair? It wasn't a very pleasing experience for the poor bird, for it only made him more embarassed and thus blush even further. Gripping his fork hard enough to leave marks in his palm, the boy scooted his plate towards Shin with wide eyes. "You...you can h-have as...as much as you like," he forced out with flushed cheeks while he attempted to lick any residual sweetness from his face.

"Thanks. Here, have some of mine. THat way it's fair," he said, cutting a peice of blueberry pancake and transferring it to the other's plate before he speared on of the boy's strawberries and ate it with a peice of syrup-soaked pancake. He had, of course, noticed the other's blush - how could he possibly miss somthing that red? - but didn't say anything about it because it might make Haro nervous or uncomfortable. "Ah, I forgot to ask you... do you even like blueberries?"

The boy frowned to himself, patting his cheeks as indiscreetly as possible. Ugh, they were still so hot, to the touch even. Holding his glass full of water up to his face for a few seconds, the boy sighed as he took a small sip. "Nnm, I don't know..." He wasn't sure if he'd ever had a blueberry before. "It doesn't really matter though, I'm sure I'll like it," he murmured before carefully plopping the already cut piece into his mouth. "Nnmm-" Finshing off the piece of pancake, Haro smiled, licking off any blue from his lips, "That was good."

"Mm, well, some people don't like blueberries so I was a little worried you would be one of those people," he said with a slightly sheepish smile. He liked it when Haro smiled - it made it easier for Shin to smile back and feel happy, like Haro's emotions were contageous or something. "What's your favorite fruit, anyway?" he asked. He wanted to know more about Haro... he reall did. He knew he couldn't possibly learn everything, but he wanted to know as much as he could about the other.

"Uhm..." Haro mused to himself for a moment, leaning his head against one hand while his expression flickered to one that of extreme thought. "The...the yellow kind," he mumbled with a soft frown. He wasn't sure what they were called, but they weren't too sweet but they were still good. "Not the sour kind, but...they are yellow though," he added with a sheepish smile. He hated not knowing what he was talking about... "Ne, do you have a favorite?"

Shin frowned. When he thought yellow fruit, his first thought was a lemon. But that was the sour one. "A... a star fruit?" he asked tentively. "Is that it? Or is it a different one...?" He'd never actually had star fruit and wasn't even sure if it was yellow or not, but it sounded like a good start. "What does your favorite look like?"

"A star...fruit?" The boy stared wide eyed at the other. He'd heard of a kind of fish or something that lived in the water that looked like a star but never a fruit that looked like a star. "Uhm, I don't think that's it," he murmured, blushing furiously as he frowned. He didn't really know how to decribe the fruit he liked best. It...it was just yellow and... "Wei told me not to eat it around him, but...I don't know what it's called...uh-" He held a hand to his head, clearly frustrated with himself. "They're...kind of...they have this...this stuff around them I guess...and that's the yellow part," he tried to explained, looking up to see if the tiger was following him at all.

"Uh... do you mean a peal...?" he asked frowning. He really did not understand... "A yellow apple... or maybe a squash - but I think that's a vegetable - and I guess mangos are part yellow..." He frowned, trying to think of other yellow fruits. "A... pineapple?" he guessed. "Those are yellow on the inside, too, though..." It was really very hard to understand Haro sometimes... And then, a look of sudden understanding on his face, he said, "A... a banana?"
((Oh, wow, I feel so slow. xD Shin was actually going through my thought process... I was like, "hmm... yellow fruit... squash can be yellow, but I think those are veggies and there are yellow apples and..." five minutes later "a pineapple?" then I looked back at what you typed and I'm like "but pineaplles are yellow inside... hmmmm...." xD *feels very stupid* And I've been eating like a banana every day this week... but I guess I always think of bananas as like creamy white... or yellow with brown sploches...))

[[Sorry! xd heart ]]
The boy kept shaking his head at nearly everything Shin was murmuring. As soon as the last fruit was uttered, Haro smiled brightly, the word clicking within his head. "Yes! Yes! That's what it's called~!" He murmured with flushed cheeks, happy to think that Shin figured out what he had been struggling to get out. "'Mm sorry I don't...speak very...well," he murmured, his excitement fading fast as he looked down at his half eaten plate of cake...s, p-pan...pancakes.
"What's your favorite?" He asked, keeping his eyes downward. Shin made him feel so...so...what's the word? He felt like he would cry if he couldn't think of it. He felt so...so not dumb, or stupid but...incompetant. That was it, he mused as he sniffed lightly, rubbing a sleeve over his nose.
