[Amy ; John : Land of Dragons : Imperial Streets]

Amy skidded to a stop, freezing in place like someone had encased her in ice. Perhaps they had, it sure felt that way. The area ahead sent a chill running up and down her spine. Seymour's hair, her guide, had long since disappeared around the corner. She knew where to go now, but... she didn't dare go there. Every sense in her body screamed at her not to go.

John seemed to be of the same opinion. They made eye contact, then simultaneously broke it, looking down the same alley that Cloud had taken earlier. Neither moved.

[Sephiroth ; Cloud : Land of Dragons : Fireworks Yard]

"No."

It was Cloud who had spoken. Silent up until now, he shook his head, denying it.

"No, you're dead."

The mist would leave any normal person who touched it feeling ill and panicked, a finger of fear running down their spine and chilling them to the bone. For the Earthlings, their dresspheres protected them, for the most part, from those effects, but they would feel it trying to creep in. It was an unease meant to strike at your very heart.

And yet it didn't. Curious.

Sephiroth could be seen clearly now, the mist fading away as if blown by the wind. His back was to them, as if he hadn't noticed them there.

Alan would see the same green eyes looking at him, although the physical Sephiroth did not move. The eyes moved from one Earthling to the next, noticing everything, the strength of each, the communication charms . . . everything. Then the eyes simply disappeared.

"You're DEAD!" Cloud yelled, denying it all. Axel was gone now, gone! This shouldn't be happening. None of this was right. He had defeated this darkness. Since that last fight, since Tifa's light, since Aerith and Radiant Garden and Leon, there hadn't been a single sign of Sephiroth. He was defeated, Cloud's darkness no longer called him back...

"There is a great darkness building within you." It was the first time Sephiroth had spoken. He didn't turn around.

Cloud got into a fighting stance.

"I would watch out for that." Oddly, he made no move to attack. Or, perhaps, it wasn't so odd after all. The Earth Children had assumed a fight, but Sephiroth had made no move to suggest one. Did his existence really deserve such a response? His creation was made manifest by a pool of darkness, perhaps their reaction wasn't so odd after all. Still, there was a familiarity in their faces that Sephiroth noticed. They knew him, he realized, and for a moment, he did consider killing them all right then and there. No. He would wait and see what his inaction would provoke...

[Alan :: LoD :: Fireworks Yard]

Once Sephiroth's eyes disappeared, Alan dropped Clarity and felt the phenomenal sensation of the whole world's colors, smells and sounds pour into his mind. Frowning, he looked around, taking in the sights he had missed in his brief vacation from the seeing and hearing world.

That Sephiroth had yet to attack wasn't a terrible surprise. If Kingdom Hearts II was any indication, he could be almost civil when he wasn't coming at you with his absurdly oversized sword. Alan glanced over to Cloud. He said nothing, but his eyes were pleading for the spiky-haired blond to be careful.

[Kyla:LoD:Fireworks Yard]

"The one winged angel... " She wasn't sure why she said it out loud, but it brought a sense to finality to the moment. There was no mistaking, it was Sephiroth.
The Pictomancer was trying her best to be brave- but she wasn't stupid, Kyla could admit when something- or- someone was waaaaaaay out of her league.

This could either; go no where, and he's just too into his own mind that he doesn't really care for a fight, or maybe he just came for a stupid chat!
Or, this could go very badly; either Sephiroth did come to fight, or wreck havok, or Cloud may be the one to snap and launch himself at him!
It was a 50/50 chance.

Ok; the idea of leading Sephiroth out of China seemed to be a shared goal- the problem was, getting him out of the Imperial City, if the worst were to happen. They needed some kind of fail safe just in ca-

!!!
Then it hit her!
Clasping the charm she had beneath the folds of her robe sleeves, Kyla focused her own thoughts into words, and into the connecting line of communication they now all shared.

So we're all agreed if a fight does happen, it needs to be taken outside this place? Then I have a back up plan if all hell breaks loose; If a fight really does happen, I still have one Door Portal ready to be used. I can open it to the outside the city- right to the Red Rose, and it can be opened anywhere- I can open it right into their path and they'll fall right through. The problem is you guys, once it's opened, I have a limited amount of time till it will close. So you all will need to run through it as quickly as possible. Ok?

Better safe then sorry. But Kyla was praying this wasn't going to turn into a fight. Cause even with back up plans from A to Z, stuff can still ruin everything and get much MUCH worse.

Kyla nearly jumpe dout fo her skin when the stoic visage of Cloud's shattered, and he actually screamed! Kyla shifted uneasily beside him, eyes flickering to Kichi with uncertanty.

"C-Cloud..?" like he'd listen- "...stay with us...please?"

[Kichi :: LoD :: Fireworks Yard]

Kichi heard Kyla's plan. It was exactly what they needed. 'Sounds good Kyla. However long you can hold it open should be enough if we rush through...and if worse comes to worse, I can use my Gliding to help a few people through. We'll let the mid-speed people through first, so the fast ones can ferry any slower ones throu-' then Cloud yelled. "Cloud! Hang in there! I know his return is...startling, but don't let it get the better of you. If you need light, we can share ours!" Kichi yelled this to Cloud, remember the end of the KH2 sephiroth battle, where Tifa said something similar, and it helped...hopefully it would again. Kichi could only hope so at this point.

[ Kyle : Dining Car ]

Hawaii... check.

The last thought wasn't transmitted as Kyle merely stared out of the window, contemplating the mechanics of the universe as a whole. It did him no good to ponder such things, however, and he... well, to be honest, he wanted a bath.

A nap in a bath tub... no place like home.

Kyle exited his room and entered one of the nearby bathrooms (obviously not the same one as Jenny) and, at the end of the mini-hall, spotted a bathtub with a cover in front. God bless magic trains, et cetera. And, after filling the tub up with relatively hot water, he removed the dress sphere and soaked, drifting into a light slumber.

[Amy ; John : LoD : Imperial Streets]

A fight? Amy looked around for the source of the voice. She had not used the charms before, although they had been explained to her when Merlin handed them out to the group. She remembered him saying something about them being built into the dresspheres now, too. That meant Alan had one as well.

The instructions meant nothing to her and John. In order to understand, they'd have to see who, or what, it was they were talking about. Amy sure hoped a fight didn't happen, whatever was going on.

She and John moved through the alley, coming into view of the fireworks yard and everyone in it. A small "Oh," escaped her, followed by, "Well. I'm leaving." As she turned to flee, John caught her by the arm. Now he was the one dragging her along, ignoring her protests.

{Kyle : LoD : Fireworks Yard}

And there he was. A fully formed Sephiroth. Kyle could almost hear the music start to play. And then a bit of hope. Maybe they wouldn't have to fight Sephiroth. He didn't seem to have any indication of wanting to fight. But, then again, who knew? Maybe one tiny thing would set him off. Or Cloud. That seemed just as likely. What with his yelling and all. Hell, he'd never seen the man break his calm.

"C'mon Cloud...keep it together. Kichi's right, you can share our light if you need it! We can help you!" Kyle said, not quite in a yell, but certainly loud enough to be heard easily.

[Cloud ; Sephiroth : LoD : Fireworks Yard]

Light? Cloud considered the supporters, wondering. How did they know what he needed? How could they possibly understand so well? He had known them only one day, and they knew . . . they knew exactly what to offer.

He felt a warming in his chest, much like what had happened when Tifa had offered her light. He tried to deny it– he didn't want someone else's light, he wanted his own –but it was there and he needed it. Conflicted as he may be, Cloud was no fool. Common sense prevailed, and he grabbed a hold of what was offered.

Cue: Music (From now on in this post, and into following posts)

He nearly gasped from the shock of it. All fear, all uncertainty simply slipped away. Tifa had given him light before, had lent her strength, but this- could it be because there was more than one person offering it? It was so strong, it almost felt unnatural. How could these, these, kids have such strength?

Did these children even know what it was they had given him?

A hard glint appeared in Sephiroth's eyes, a sudden cold glow that flashed across, and was gone. He turned around, eyes meeting Cloud's directly, only to be met with a firm strength and resolve that should not be present in the Puppet. It certainly wasn't there a moment ago.

He didn't need to look at the others to see where it was coming from.

"Borrowed light," Sephiroth did not hide the disgust in his voice.

The flow of darkness, those shadows that had given him form, stopped feeding him; the tendrils only visible in Alan's 'Clarity', and other forms of viewing magic, were now nearly gone. Power he had in plenty, but it was Cloud's darkness that gave him shape. This could not be allowed to continue.

The exits magically blocked off, locking the group inside. John and Amy, now close enough to be included, were locked in as well. People could enter, but not leave.

Having not moved much except to turn around, one could easily miss the explosion of speed now– even if they were fully aware he was capable of it. Seeing Sephiroth move onscreen was one thing; In real life, it was another. One moment Sephiroth was standing there, next he was gone, a disturbance in the air the only evidence he had been standing there at all. It didn't take long to find out where he went, as a clash of steel on steel brought people's attention to Cloud, blocking Masamune with his Buster Sword.

With a smirk and a sidelong glance, Sephiroth made something perfectly clear. He had no intention of fighting only Cloud. The comprehension, followed by fear, in Cloud's eyes was worth the engagement. With a deft twist, and a powerful push, had Cloud backing up a step. Then he turned slightly, extending his sword arm out to the side, and struck at Kichi, the first one to offer Cloud light...

[Kichi :: LoD :: Fireworks Yard]

Kichi waited for Sephiroth to move. Before he knew it however, Sephiroth was on Cloud. He also, having been a martial artist for over 9 years, and having gotten back into practice, noticed something about the interaction wasn't intended as a full attack. From cloud's Reaction, it wasn't hard to guess what. Thus, at the first sign of another motion, Kichi put hit Tonfa into a sideways V-shaped block, barely in time to take the brunt of the blow, before being pushed apart, and the sword making it through. Fortunately, the force of the sword glancing his tonfa was still enough to send him flying backward, enough so that only the tip of the immensely long sword cut a thin line across his chest.

Still though, he was sent flying backwards, and hard. He slammed into the wall of one of the buildings bordering the area, yelling in pain from the impact. He fell to the ground...but he was tough. He pushed himself back up to one knee. He knew he couldn't fool Sephiroth into thinking he was dead, while still letting cloud know he was alive, so he didn't bother. He gradually stood back up. "I....will not...let my light fade." Truth be told, his emotions were telling him to run. But his logic kept that in check. There was a barrier...it wouldn't help. His friends would need every bit of help they could get. If they were to make it through this, his best...no, only choice was to stay strong.

[Nick :: Forbidden City Fireworks Yard]

The presence of darkness was thick...and violent. It was almost like syrup, so thick and sweet. Well, more bittersweet. Nick couldn't help but grin as he got closer to the presence. If this was the power that Seymour would lead the Lanista to, he would be content with this path.

His final footsteps surprised him, coming within view of the group and the source of all the darkness: Sephiroth, man with the flowing silver locks. Nick paled for a moment, then laughed. He put magical pressure into his feet, blasting himself into the air and onto a roof of a nearby building. His foot slid, but he quickly caught himself and took a sitting position. He pulled the rifle off of his back, aiming it towards Sephiroth.

Boom. Headshot.

As his finger reached to pull the trigger, Sephiroth vanished, reappeared, and knocked one of the Earthlings in the blink of an eye.

$&%!%. Maybe not...Patience is a virtue, I suppose.

[Alan :: LoD :: Fireworks Yard]

Alan had been standing next to Jon when Sephiroth attacked him, but the fiend was far too fast for him to react in time to save his friend from having his chest cut. Acting out of reflex more than anything, all thought of fear burned away by a consuming rage at everything that happened today - his own weakness, his own inability to act or to defeat anyone, rage even at his fear against a superior opponent - he stepped between Jon and Sephiroth, not allowing his friend's enemy to move in for a killing blow.

Adopting a low stance, he extended his right arm, uttering a spell to invoke the wind in a strange language. The razor sharp winds of Aerora cut a wide arc in front of him, meant to deter Sephiroth's advance rather than to actually damage him. Even in his enraged state, Alan knew that would be fruitless.

"Hey," he half-shouted at Sephiroth, "guess what! It turns out people support each-other! It's this crazy thing called a society. Maybe you've heard of it."

[Kyla:LoD: FireworksYard]

How she still had her HEAD on- she'd never know, because she was standing between Kichi and Cloud (row position), so when the spin slash into Kichi came, the blade narrowly slide right under the girl's chin! Missing her by maybe an inch or two!

Was that a tip of her bangs she saw flying before her face! SH** that was close!
Kyla nearly stumbled back as Kichi went flying from her side, passed Alan, and into a wall!
"Kichi!"
Guess he didn't like Kichi's pep talk.

Well too freaking bad!

Regaining her footing, Kyla's pen decended upon the first page of attacks.
"You realize, that's going to encourage more light from everyone you idiot."
There was no doubt she would lend whatever light she had as well. Even if he did act like a jerk.
Even if someone treats you unfairly, that shouldn't have any weight upon your own treatment in return. So she chose to support Cloud inspite of the unreciprocated respect.

Besides... I got him into this mess, I convinced them to wait, I'll get him out.

If she could launch a BIG birn strike, lvl 2 maybe at Sephiroth, push him back, she could open the door right behind him and send him through! Now that Cloud was pushed back, she was right there infront of the guy now!

Just one clear shot- Ready! And- Something invisable moved around her in a wide arc directed at Sephiroth. It blow her hair gently, but attacked the obviously intended target, no so kindly.
A wind attack-but Joe wasn't here..

Alan!?

Sure enough he offere support while defending Kichi!

"Pretty smart!"

'He bought me time!

She charged her Birn Strike, and connected the lines of the door to the Red Rose location.
The larger attack, a single white bird of light/energy exploded out of the page and made a kamikaze strike at Sephiroth, as the lines to the door illuminated, and sure enough- it opened!

Right behind the man was a hole in space, in the precice shape of a rectangle door. Outlined by gold light, they would be able to see the ship on the other side!

If her Birn strike wasn't enough to push him, Cloud or someone else would have to do it, she'd have to concentrate on keeping it open!

{Kyle : LoD : Fireworks Yard}

And all hope for a peaceful confrontation went out the window. Even if Kyle had been fully expecting it, he still would have gasped over just how fast Sephiroth was. That was insane! He thought as he watched the two clash. Then, Sephiroth brought it to the Earthlings. A first blow to Kichi sent him blown backwards, but at least he wasn't dead.

And then everything exploded at once. Alan did something with the wind (A spell?) and hit Kyla in the midst of it, with all it doing was blow her hair.. Thankfully she seemed ok, well enough to shoot a bird thing at Sephiroth and, **** she drew the door! Instantly, Kyle knelt down and performed an Earth Fang, tearing earth into spikes that sped towards Sephiroth, aiming to try to maneuver him into the door.

[ Seymour : Forbidden City : Fireworks Yard ]

Seymour was an expert at keeping his poker face; upon the sudden gift of light from the Earthlings, he wanted to smirk. Such a powerful gift, an ability to instill courage in the fearful and strength in the weak. These Earthlings were proving more and more... worthwhile as time went on.

Still, there was the issue with Sephiroth- another piece of the puzzle that made the Maester want to smirk. The great swordsman, born from the depths of darkness in a singular heart which called out to the black dimension for power in a time of need.

In essence, Sephiroth was the result of a deal with the devil.

Regardless of his thoughts, Seymour quickly caught on to the plan at hand- ever the resourceful children, these Earthlings. Immediately, to add on to the other assaults, he summoned his own-

"Whiteout."

Suddenly, a forceful wave of ice magic flowed from the top of his staff, pointed directly at Sephiroth. Rather than go at the swordsman directly, it washed over everything, freezing the fireworks while leaving the Earthlings and other allies untouched. This was his equivalent of 'Blizzaja', and it would hurt. Hopefully, Sephiroth would be forced back by the coming ice-wave into the door that Kyla had opened.
