She looked over him slyly with a little grin.
"No way..." She said, with a laugh in her voice. "The big bad black ops agent with more weapons skills in his left pinky than I have in my whole body is scared of needles?" She grinned while pulling out the equipment needed to take his blood.

His face went pale. "I'm seriously starting to reconsider the pain-killers." He said as she watched her get out the needles.

She laughed a bit and said "No worries, I'll do it quickly." She quickly tied an elastic strip around the arm that got bitten and told him to look away. She drew four vials of blood in quick succession and put a cotton swab on it.
"Hold that there til the bleeding stops, and drink this." She tossed him her canteen of water as she cleaned up the mess and headed over to microscope and dropped a dab of blood on the slide.
"This is good." She declared, pulling her latex gloves off with a snap. "It hasn't entered your blood stream yet."

He does as instructed. "Yeah well, tell that to my burning hand and feet." He says as he takes a drink.

"We'll," she offers, "We're safe in here. Why don't I give you some pain killers. Just enough to get you to sleep. Then I can do what I need to here. I mean, it's going to be boring and tedious anyway right?"
((Basically, since I am not actually a nurse, lets pretend you sleep through my cool siencey testing stuff. wink ))

"I guess I will sleep, but I don't need the pain-killers." He says as he leans back in the chair and tries to sleep. Even though he cant really because something is on his mind. But he tries to shake it off and get some sleep.

- Half an hour later -
Kayla had been running tests on the Reapers blood for a while now, and from what she could tell, it definitely was mutating. Not at a very quick rate however. When she had dropped some iodine on the sample it had lit up like fireworks. Perhaps if she introduced a new virus...no, that wasn't safe. What if she could create a counter-acting one? Maybe, but it would take far too long to grow and Reaper didn't have that kind of time.
She looked over at him, worrying. She sure had grown fond of having him around. Was he still awake?
"What's on your mind?"

"Hmmm." He said kinda asleep, but not really. "Oh ummmm, let's see I was uhhh." He started stuttering not sure if it was sleepiness or something else.

He was stuttering. Not really a standard sign of the virus spreading, but each case was different. Hopefully it was for some other reason.
"You alright...?" She asked cautiously. The virus wasn't supposed to be affecting him until day three...but if it had mutated enough...

"Yes I'm fine." He said. "I'm glad she didn't just catch that while I was still distracted." He thought to himself.

She looked at him warily. Something was definitely up, but he seemed to be generally alright.
"Well just remember that I need to know all your symptoms...so, if somethings up.." She trailed off, hoping he would tell her whatever was bothering him.

"No I'm fine. Nothing different." He said. "Crap! Maybe she did catch it." He thought to himself.

'Yup,' She thought. Something for sure. No worries though. he had to have a good reason for hiding it. As she turned back to her work, it occurred to her that she barely knew the fellow whose life she was rushing to save.
"So...what's your real name anyway? I mean..it can't really be Reaper, is it?"

"No it isn't. That was my codename for black ops and while I was a professional sniper. I'm not sure I can trust anyone with my real name."
He said.
"I mean I guess I could tell you, but you can't tell anyone else."
