Harman had been wandering throughtout the courtyard for quite awhile. He didn't feel like attending lunch - not yet anyway. Food? Ehh. He wasn't really hungry. And he didn't feel like sitting in a lunchroom full of students. He was not much of a people person, especially since he became a Genius Legend. Then people started bothering him more. Anyway, he wasn't going to lunch. He hoped his sister was though. He hadn't seen her since this morning. She needed to eat.

Harman found an old can littered on the floor and entertained his short attention-span by kicking it around. He hated the fact that it had been littered- that was one of the things that angered him most about people. They couldn't clean up their own ******** messes because they didn't feel like getting up, or holding onto the trash until they found a garbage can. Whatever.

He brushed the dark hair out of his eyes and finally looked up to see where he was heading, noticing a familiar figure striding towards the Front Office. He picked up the can and tossed it into the nearby waste basket before jogging over to Meredith's side. "What's got you so pumped?" He asked, having noticed her perkiness even from a distance.

"I intend to live forever. So far, so good."

According to everything Meredith ever heard, Snider is basically the best school in the world. The school that spoiled rich human kids tried to get in, but money no amount was enough. The school where you have to be smart and be in control of her powers. It was the college Meredith dreamed of going to since she learned about the whole new world powers could bring. Now she was going to be there in a few short weeks.

How could she not be excited?

“What's got you so pumped?” Harman's spoke in his velvet voice. Meredith turned around and looked at his brilliant eyes and his outstanding hair. She quickly grabbed his hand and started walking in step with him.

“What do you think of London?” Meredith asked. Hopefully it was encouraging words, since she was totally going to force him to visit her in between semesters. Or, she'd come and visit him. That would always be a blast. As long as she could see her Harman. He was the only one she wa going to miss here.

“I'm transferring to Snider.” Meredith purred.

Honestly, Snider was probably the best news around. Maybe she could start off somewhere where no one thought she was a slut. Far better than rumors about her and Thorne's non existent sex life. It was funny how everyone seemed to gossip about that, when no one was even interested in the truth of Meredith's steadily increasing crush for Harman. Seems as if the only one who dwelled on it was Bri, and the only one Meredith told was Mitsukai. Meredith still couldn't help but to smile about that one night in her 11th grade year, when she told Mitsukai how she was insanely and madly in love with Harman.

“You know, ima miss you.” Meredith said, making sure to look him right in the eye when she said it. It was completely true, since he was the only boy that actually mattered. She could have flings with thousands of Thornes, but not one of them would matter as much as Harman.

Honestly, that thought kinda dimmed the excitement of Snider.

Cory walked out of the now vacant classroom. His reflexes were slower and his emotions were haywire. How was she? Why wasn't she texting him? Those thoughts banged around in his brain. All he wanted to do was help her, didn't his mother realize how helpless this made him feel?

Cory sighed and walked into the halls. Most students were either in the lunch room or spending their hour break elsewhere. All he had to do was find Joesph and be for answers. He didn't want to look pitiful, but what else could he do? His whole world revolved around this one girl and he needed answers. He had to know how she was doing. Since she wasn't responding to the 500 or so text he had sent her, he would find out from one boy she told everything. Joesph was her best friend, he'd have the answers.

Once Cory opened the cafeteria doors, the sudden noise shocked him. Everyone was happy and laughing, while his world was crashing down. It was so hard already seeing her everyday falling apart because of that stupid boy she grew attached to. He had to watch her become frail, barely eat, and even cry. He just wanted to hold her and make everything okay. However, he was scared to do so. He knew she wouldn't appreciate his affection, therefore he kept his distance. He watched as she slowly pushed everyone away. He watched as her bones started to show through her clothes. He watched as she stopped keeping up her looks. He could tell by her bagged eyes that she was deprived of sleep. He would tell by her cracked voice that she cried continually. He could even hear her screaming awake some mornings as he stood outside her door, pacing about wither or not he should come in and help her. She was lost and hurt, because of that stupid boy. But now, she had worse problems. Why was her world shaking around her? A world without Mitsukai wasn't a world at all, it was hell.

Though, nothing was as bad as what was thrown in her path this morning. Cancer. Hana, her sister, had cancer. Cory had to sit around, wanting to help her deal with this. She had already lost so much, yet life continued to take more. Once she had learned to smile, life had ripped it away. Cory didn't know what he could do. So instead, he tried to banish her from his thoughts.

Her buried himself in school work, actually doing work in classes. Though, in his classes he shared with Archimedes and Candace, he spent spreading ruckus. They gave teachers gray hairs and laughed about the pranks they pulled. Then after school he'd play video games with Archimedes or go bowling with Cadence. When they weren't doing normal teen things, they'd torture other poor souls. They'd ruin classrooms, set up traps, and so much more destruction. It felt good to let out all of his frustration on harming others. It was never something Cory would have done before he came to Genius Academy. The previous year he had straight A's. He focused on his powers and school work. He didn't date, didn't pull pranks, or cause drama. He even immersed himself in sports on his free time. He participated in football, soccer, and track. He lived a perfect good boy life until his one and only fight in his school, which got him expelled.

After that he went to Genius Academy and became a boy a mother was ashamed of. He was rejected by Mitsukai and instead hung out with a new crowd that was nothing like his friends before. Cory had changed, though he would always be the sweet boy Mitsukai had once known and loved. Sure, she no longer loved him, but he loved her. He would go to the ends of the earth for her. That's why he was approaching Joesph (the one boy he had always disliked) to ask if he had heard from Mitsukai. Joesph was everything Cory used to be. He played football (even though Genius never had an official team). He was in constant legal battles in the arena. He was popular. He also was smart. But at the same, he was everything Cory used to be against. He skipped classes. He dated a lot. He was a huge flirt. He was egotistical. He was the most important person in Mitsukai's life. He was like a big brother to her, and she would die if she lost him. Cory found this out all from the letters him and Mitsukai used to write before she started hating him. He envied and respected Joesph all in the same breath. He was an enemy and friend all because Mitsukai loved Joesph. Joesph pulled Mitsukai together when Cory tore her apart. It made Cory equally angry and thankful.

Cory finally approached the boy. Joesph was sitting at the table listening to a girl go on. Cory was positive she was new, however she had the confidence that no first year could posses. She was rambling on about anything and everything while Joesph listened with sincere interest. To bad Cory had to break up this little conversation.

“Excuse me.” Cory said, interrupting their conversation. He was surprised to see that the girl looked at him with eyes full of hatred. However, once she recognized him, her eyes showed pure warmth. Cory thought that was kind of weird, considering he had never seen her before in his life, but whatever.

Joesph on the other hand, looked at him in pure fury.

“Have you heard from her?” Cory asked. His voice showed the desperation he felt. Joesph must have noticed it because his eyes softened, before revealing the same desperation Cory was feeling at the moment. Joesph shock his head sadly. Cory sighed.

With a small thanks, Cory turned around and walked towards his normal table, making a quick stop at a drink machine to purchase a vitamin water. After he got that he sat down and slowly sipped his drink, waiting for his friends to arrive. He knew he could never explain this to them. Cory was positive Archimedes already knew Cory's strong infatuation with Mitsukai and highly disapproved of it. Cory needed rehab. However, he'd deal with that after he made sure she was okay. Once Mitsukai was back in working order, he would find some hot girls and get over her. He'd let himself go, give up his whole world, and find some new salvation. It was the only way he would recover. And, he would recover, as soon as she was alright.

Kyuubi walked to his dorm. He wanted to relax there before his next class started. He laid on his bed. Satori, it wouldn't leave his mind. It was hard to relax knowing about all the things going wrong lately. His brother was causing a lot of trouble. Now Mitsukai was gone. He put his hands on his face.

Kyuubi stood up, and shook his head. He grabbed the book for his class and began to read a little bit. His mind began to wander off. "Gah" he said aloud. He walked out of his room. He went to the training room. He set his fists on fire and began to punch through the air. He wanted to take his mind of all this. Kyuubi had been hoping he could stay away from this much trouble this year.

Allison Marie Abrams

Allison rushed off the to the lunch room for the hour break. Lately, she had been in a world of her own, not bothering to hang out with the others or even care to follow the inevitable drama. The girl had shoved a sketch book and a few pencils in her bag, which had become habit as of late for whenever she left the room. Allison had been a recluse the last few weeks, drawing tens of pictures every day. Most she didn't even bother to animate, for she was afraid to tear up such a pretty picture. But something had gotten into her today, and inspired her to leave her room and go eat with her once friends at lunch.

The girl walked up to get her food, and took a meager portion of food she rarely ate. She could always just conjure up more if she needed to, though she was rarely hungry.

Once spotting some of her friends at their normal table, Allison strolled coolly to the empty seat next to Joseph. She noticed an unfamiliar girl sitting with the boy, and thought surprised to herself, How much did I miss? Allison picked at her food while waiting the girl to finish her long monologue, which vaguely sounded like a life story.

"Hey there." Allison said softly, with a smile in her voice twirling her fork around absently. She knew her friends hadn't seen much of her lately, and she felt a bit frightened that they had moved on from her, and had experienced too much while she was gone to welcome her back graciously.

Ellie thought that the idea of a life story was incredibly long and boring. Who wanted to hear about the past when it was full of so much crap? However, Joesph obviously needed something to clear his mind. Maybe the long and boring life of Juliette was a happier place than where his head was now? Though, what could be irritating him? Typically Ellie knew very single scandal going on around the school. However, attending the school as a student slowed her down. She couldn't just move around in her invisible spirit form when she had to attend classes and do things the slow way. She was going to have to force herself into the restricted life of being in a human body. Sure, she'd get down time in her spirit body at night. However, things rarely went on at night. Such a boring life.

“Hmm, where to begin?” Ellie started her story.

Ellie gave him a quick summery of 'her old life (changing it around to fit Juliette's story). Her old room, old school, and her 'Parents', Fred and Lisa. Joesph obviously thought it was weird that she called her parents by name. She only called them Mom and Dad to their faces. However, it was all too annoying calling people that technically weren't her parents 'Mommy'. She didn't let his confusion stop her though and continued going on in complete confidence. She took pride in how he was genuinely interested in her life. She could see the worry lines in his forehead slowly decrease and the frown turn into something relatively close to a smile. With every bit of interest he showed, she became more and more animated.

“So, when did you discover your power?” Joesph asked. He had been doing that for awhile. She'd explain something, and once that topic ended, he'd bring up some other random question that lead her on a whole other tirade. She never had a chance to ask about his life, he wasn't allowing that. She'd honestly rather hear about him. It was easier than having to lie to him. Seriously, she couldn't explain to him how she really discovered her power.

“When I woke up in my grandma's body.” Juliette said laughing. It was her lie. A well thought up one too. She discovered her power by repeat incidents in her family members bodies. It was a confusing power. However, they were all hilariously funny incidences she made up. At least, those were the ones she was telling him. By the time she was done, they both were laughing. It was the best moment in her life. She had spent years dreaming of when she could finally be with her brother. However, the lies and deception just seemed like too high of a cost. Sure, he would never know he was talking to the sister he brutally killed years ago. However, he'd know a whole new person who was just as good. Possibly.

“Excuse me.”

Ellie looked up at the newcomer. At first she was incredibly pissed to have someone interrupt her bonding time with her brother. However, one she realized who it was, she had to smile. Cory was one of the people she actually watched in her spirit form. The good guy going bad. He was adorable in every way imaginable. To bad she'd have to deceive him, along with everybody else.

He looked at her strangely, but then focused back on Joesph. There was so much desperation in his voice it was pitiful. Whatever, not like it truly mattered. Mitsukai was going to crush him someday. She had already done so much damage already. He was the dumb fly and she was the light. Soon he'd be going in for his death while she continued to shine. Though, could you even describe her state of being as her continuing to shine?

“Have you heard from her.” He practically begged. Ellie had to hold back a laugh. Obviously something happened with Mitsukai? Her thoughts were confirmed when Joe shock his head sadly. Oh joy, life was so wonderful. It was to bad that Joe clung to Mitsukai so. She would possibly feel a little bad for ripping them apart. Not that it'd last long.

“Who's she?” Ellie asked with false concern as soon as Cory walked away. By the look in Joesph's face, he didn't want to talk about it. That was fine by her, because she didn't want to hear about that b***h. Not that she'd let Joesph know about that. It was all apart of her perfect deception.

It was funny how twisted life could be. Joesph was sitting here talking to an outstanding first year, and everyone knew those were hard to come by. She was an avid story teller, and they both were cracking up. Oh, how joyous life was being. That was until the most annoying boy in the universe, Cory, came in and brought reality slamming back at him. Joesph sadly shock his head when Cory asked if he had heard from Mitsukai. He wished he had, he really did. Joesph watched Cory turn away and faced Juliette.

“Who's she?” She asked in total concern. The more moments that passed, the more he was starting to like her. To bad this was such a depressing topic. This wasn't something he wanted to discuss now. At least, not until he got more facts from Mitsukai. She'd text him sooner or later, she always did.

“My best friend, she flew to Georgia today, her sister is sick or something.” and she hadn't texted anyone, so we're all worried as s**t...

Joe decided that ranting on about his best friend's disappearance wasn't a good conversation starter with a new friends. Not to mention he wasn't really used to being open with his feelings to anyone except Mitsukai. Juliette wasn't Mitsukai, and she never would be. Not that he wouldn't want her to be a super awesome friend and all, he was just worried about Mitsukai. She hadn't been Mitsukai for the longest time. Now things were just getting worse. Could she ever get a break?

“I'm sorry, you really care for her don't you?” Juliette's voice quickly interrupted his inner issues. She looked at him in worry. Obviously he was wearing his feelings on his face. He'd talk to Nikky tonight about things. That'd make it better.

“Yea, I do.” Joesph answered her question, then he paused and put on a big flirty smile.
“Anyhow, lets talk about something less upsetting, ehh?”

“Hey there.” Joesph looked over at the brilliant new comer. Where ever Allison had been, she'd been there far to long.

“Allison, hey!” Joesph said and wrapped his arm around her. “Where you been?”

He then looked at Juliette and introduced the two.

Allison smiled largely after saying hey to the girl introduced as Juliette. Something about her in a way seemed familiar to Allison, but she just shrugged it off, it was probably nothing. "Nice to meet you!" She greeted the girl with a kind and warm smile.

"Allison, hey! Where you been?"

Allison laughed perkily, and shrugged. "Oh, you know, the usual. Living under the proverbial rock, being a hermit and what not. And spending way too much time drawing and not enough time, well, everything else." She laughed after her lame excuse. Something inside her had snapped, and she just didn't feel like being around people anymore. Allison could even remember the pulling she felt to return to her room every time it was necessary to leave. There was nothing special about the room, everyone's was almost the same. It was as if the last string inside her had broken, and she just wasn't herself anymore. But today, the string had repaired itself enough to repel Allison from her safe haven, and into her old social circle.

Yeah, she went to classes, went to eat, but other than that, she was in her room. Allison didn't talk to the teachers, didn't talk to her classmates, and barely paid any attention. As far as she knew, she had successfully turned herself invisible. She didn't mind at all. She quite enjoyed the hiatus.

"So, Juliette, have we met before? I can swear I have seen you around somewhere..."
Allison's voice faded away slowly, into an inaudible whisper, while the gears in her brain turned at full speed. She could imagine smoke building up inside her skull cap, and would eventually make it impossible to breath.

Allison absently toyed with her necklace, a small strand of pearls, while using her fork to draw incoherent shapes in her food.

“Oh you know, the usual. Living under the proverbial rock, being a hermit and whatnot. And, spending way to much time drawing and not enough time doing everything else.”

It took way to much darn effort not to roll her eyes at this darn girl. Seriously, how could a girl who stuck her nose in a drawing book 24/7 seem even remotely interesting to Joesph? Out of all the girls at Genius Academy, Allison was one of the few Ellie didn't even wasted her time spying on. Seriously, there had to be a limit on how much you lock yourself in your room. Allison never got that, so why should Ellie waste her time on that? Who knows, maybe Ellie would actually be nice to this one, and genuine about it. Why waste your time scheming on someone who wouldn't ever interfere?

“Well, how about stop being a hermit and hang out with me some more! You know we all missed ya.”

Though, Ellie couldn't help but to think how lovely her brother was after that statement. He was a complete gentlemen and great friend. The few he hung with were so lucky he wasted his time on them. Ellie watched as Joesph wrapped his arms around Allison and pulled her closer to him. It was so sweet that he was so nice to someone that next to never hung out with them. Maybe there was something to Allison, that she showed on the rare moments Ellie wasn't watching Joe. Or, it was the fact that Joesph was the best thing on earth, and he saw it. Who knows. All Ellie knew was Joesph was extremely happy to be around his friend, and that was sweet in every way.

“So, Juliette have we meet before? I swear I've seen your around somewhere.”

'Seen me around, ha.' Ellie thought bitterly. There was no way that Allison had seen Ellie what so ever. Though, Ellie decided to be sure. She quickly pulled out her iPhone and signed on the school account with a teachers account she swiped during her years of being a ghost.

“No, I don't think so...you may have seen me around town or something....” Ellie muttered as she quickly browsed the site. 'Allison' She typed in and came across three Allison. Luckily, the site had pictures right next to the names. Ellie clicked on the picture.

Name: Allison Marie Adams
Grade: Senior
Birth date: April 9, 1992

Blah Blah Blah... None of facts were remotely interesting except...

Power: Bringing contents to full 3D form, can control drawings with telepathic ability.

Seriously, could someone with a power as lame as that even bother Ellie? Though, the fact that she let her guard down was a huge downer. Ellie looked at them and gave them a smile. “Sorry, my dad texted me. He wants to know how my big first day is going.” Ellie did an exaggerated eye roll and then played with her food some. She was seriously going to have to be a tad more careful to pull off this new identity thing at a school full of super humans. No more playing around, not one bit.

'Toto, I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore...' Ellie thought to herself as she took a bite of her lunch.

Allison chuckled softly at Juliette's words, while instinctively leaning into Joseph's side. His arms were warm, and developed her. Alli was a normally cold natured person, which he was aware of.

"Well, how about we do something tonight? Um, Julliette can come if she wants... And anyone else!"

She spoke with a natural smile to Joesph. Juliette made her feel uncomfortable, but Allison was probably just being paranoid again.

Allison's free hand drew a swirly pattern on the table scape in front of her as if she were painting on a canvas, absently. Her other hand fidgeted with her pearls, a nervous habit Allison found unattractive, yet unavoidable.

She felt nervous, and exposed, but she tried her best to hide it well smiling at the two people around her whilst a large sigh left her parted lips.

Allison's thoughts traveled back to the girl in front of her. She wondered what power she possessed and what lurked behind those power hungry eyes. And then she wondered if she was just letting her overpowering imagination take control of her again. In the midst of all her thinking, Allison's head had lopped on to Joesph's shoulder without thinking about it.

“So, how about we do something tonight?”
“Wait? Allie wants to do something! Dude...”
“Juliette can come if she wants....And everyone else!”

Being interrupted, even while you were interrupting was never a great thing. However, Joe gave a small chuckle at his small mistake. The thing about Allie was, when she was social, she talked. Yet, when she wasn't, she avoided any types of communication like a plague. It always took Joe a couple of hours to get used to her long and rambled out statements. Pretty much, he interrupted her a lot. 'oops' He thought, shaking off the feeling of being rude.

It took him about one second to fully process her statement, and one moment to shake off the rudeness. Was it just him or did Allison invite Juliette like she didn't want her there. Juliette shouldn't be outed, even if she was a first year. Unlike most first years, Juliette was cool. She had some confidence no first year could posses. Plus, she had a kick a** power. Yeaa, Juliette was going to hang with them from now on. She was a junior anyways!

“...If Allison wants to do something, we have to go! Considering its such a rare occurrence and all!”
Joe finished his earlier statement, with just a hint of teasing. He then poked her to add effect. Typically he would bumb her, but in their sitting arrangements, that wouldn't fly.

If Juliette caught the rudeness in the invitation, she didn't show it.
“Ohhhh, there's a concert tonight. I know its a school night and all, but it cant last that long...”Juliette seemed to think over the details. Though, Joe already knew that Juliette didn't mind the staying up late, in fact, it seemed directed at someone else... Maybe Juliette caught onto the bitchy comment after all? Or, Joe was reading to much into it.

“Lemme double check on my phone..hold on.....”

Joesph gave Allison a reassuring squeeze. Joe wasn't all sure if he really wanted to go to an concert, because it'd be to loud to contact Mitsukai. However, he wanted to hang out with the two. Chances to do something fun with Allison came around like once a month. The last time he hung out with her was just over three weeks ago, before Mitsukai went into her depression.

Joesph seriously had to put those thoughts aside. Mitsukai was in Georgia, probably in Nikol's clutches. She would be fine. 'Time to stop being big brother...' Joesph thought bitterly to himself.

“Oh yea, its the Kooks, starts at 9:30, but oh well. Its at Jack Rabbits, which isn't far at all.”Juliette announced, reading the last little tid bits off her phone. Joe loved the Kooks, thanks to Mitsukai. It was definitively one of their favorite bands. He was up for it.

“Sounds like fun.” Joesph said and smiled at Allison. They'd invite some friends and stuff too! It'd be a blast!

The band The Kooks seemed vaugley familiar, but in her hiatus, Allison had given up music as well. She remembered a happy song she used to dance to and decided she wanted to be there. It would give the girl a chance to warm up to Ellie, or maybe the other way around.

"Sure, that sounds great." Allison remarked softly with a grin, the one that showed off the dimple on her left cheek.

Allison smiled back at Joseph and raised her eyebrows in agreement to his statement. She suddenly felt the need to show off her pictures to Joe, like she normally did, but stopped herself. She didn't like to show off her artwork in front of new people, because it looked as if she were trying to show up them, and be a total talent hog.

She glanced at her watch, a small silver thing with crystals as the number ticks her grandfather had gotten for her. The punctual in her was urging her to get back to her room and study before class, but she loved being with people again.

Shayde stepped of the bus and slowly strolled towards the Academy a few miles away. No one that was "normal" seemed to want to go near this school he had found. Luckily his parents, instead of kicking him to the curb when he "manifested" his power, invested a significant amount for him and then kicked him out.

Finding this school seemed almost to good to be true, but with the bare control he had, he need a school where they could teach both college classes and a way for him to control his powers. He hated not being able to do anything, but he didn't want to keep hurting people, like he did whenever he got injured.

Finally reaching the school grounds, Shayde stuck his hand deep into his jeans pocket and griped the small pocket knife he always carried. It was maybe an inch long but sharp as he could get it. Keeping his eyes peeled he slowly found a map of the campus and located the administration building. Bee-lining it towards the building, he felt panic rising within his chest as he saw people he didn't know and the made his survival instincts twinge violently.

Caleb walked onto the campus and looked in awe at the huge building in front of him. The majestic stone walls and sharp angles with the impressive architecture astounded him and he slowly turned around in a circle taking in all his surroundings. His face was lifted up slightly as he stared at the structure that contrasted against the light blue sky. The sight was confounding. For even though Caleb had seen plenty of buildings similar to this in England, he had never received the chance to live in them and the fact that this would be his home for the next two years was exciting. The view was indeed overwhelming to Caleb, but he, himself, presented a sight that was almost as bewildering as the massive edifice before him.

Even to the stranger students, Caleb posed an interesting vision for he was clad in various clothing items that seemed eccentric in their combination. His feet were covered in heavy black combat boots with kelly green laces and silver skinny jeans were tucked into the boots. Blue, yellow, and hot pink chains were attached to his belt forming loops on the side and back of his outfit. His belt appeared to be made of an old seat belt such as the ones you find in old station wagons and he wore a long sleeved aqua shirt with a grey graphic t-shirt over that. On top of that, an unbuttoned, short-sleeved, wool, red-checkered “lumber-jack” shirt was worn, and his left hand sported a striped blue and grey arm sock, though his right was bare. To cap that all off, he had an evergreen beanie with earflaps and tassels at the end of the ties worn on his head covering most of his hair—though enough of it showed so that you could see the different colored highlights. His pale skin only enhanced the bright colors that he wore causing students to double take when catching sight of him. To say the least, he could stop traffic.

Caleb, oblivious to people’s whispers, stares, and outright laughter, stood gazing at his new home till he had his fill. He could always look at it later if he wanted, and so his mind finally coming back down to earth, Caleb starting walking towards what he hoped was the correct building. But then the thought occurred to him that it wouldn’t matter if the building was correct or not seeing as he had no idea what he was doing or where he was going, so he continued ambling along towards it his hands in his pockets. Seeing another guy looking a little lost also, Caleb waved at him a cheery smile on his face though he did not stop to say hi. He was too preoccupied with wondering what the building in front of him held.

Caleb entered it to only have his hopes of something exciting crushed. It was a cafeteria…a normal cafeteria. It was surprising how typical it looked. Raucous teenagers populated it, lunch ladies in hair nets were behind the counter, teachers occasionally patrolled the edges, and the noise was deafening. However, appearances could be deceiving. For despite how normal it looked on the outside, it was strange and fantastic once you dug a little deeper. The students were not just teenagers, they were teens with superpowers, and the school was not a typical boarding school, but a place for troubled kids to learn how to control their powers. Fights of epic proportions always abounded, and sometimes the kids could scare the teachers into submission. Partying was a must, and grades not so much. But no matter what type of school it was, Caleb was excited to start and he felt his anticipation mounting again as he scanned the cafeteria.

A familiar looking person made him pause in his searching. Caleb cocked his head to the side trying to figure out why this person was recognizable. And then, it hit him…literally. A crumpled up paper bag that had been aimed at the trash can hit Caleb in the forehead producing explosive laughter from the table from where it had been lobbed. A young freshman came over and apologized as she bent to pick up the bag, but Caleb waved it off grinning widely as the occurrence had jogged his memory. A very similar incident had happened in London, and the perpetrator had turned out to be Cory. It had actually been the first time that Caleb had met Cory and that was when their unlikely friendship first began.

As the memory finished filtering through his mind, Caleb couldn’t believe he didn’t realize it sooner. Mentally beating himself over the head, Caleb jogged over to Cory anticipating his reaction to his presence with mischievous glee. Only in his preoccupied state of mind, Caleb tripped over his own feet and his gangly figure propelled through the air. His arms went round in windmill cycles managing to conk Cory on the head, smack himself in the face, and his elbow caught the chair next to Cory toppling it upside down. He managed to somehow give direction to his falling body and crashed into the already toppled chair. He miraculously landed on his bum, though painfully as his limbs seemed be somehow be tangled in the metal contraption. The crash, itself, caused heads to turn in his direction, but Caleb paid them no mind as he rested his head against the table top edge and comically tilted his head at Cory giving him an impish grin. “Hey, Cory! What’s up?”

After asking his question, Caleb would have attempted to get up, but he was stuck, and he was afraid that any effort on his part would only worsen the situation. So, he stayed in his current uncomfortable position with assorted pieces of metal digging into his various body parts. He only hoped that he wouldn’t end up stuck in the chair for much longer for it wasn’t exactly a good thing to be tangled in a chair on your first day.

Shayde slowly moved forwards until he heard a set of footsteps. Jerking his hands out of his pockets, Shayde turned towards the steps, and stopped in shock as the kid was a riot of clashing colors. Blinking like a fish out of water, Shayde just stared at the kid, jaw slightly agape. Why in the world does he set himself as a target? You Can Not hide with any of that color. Looking down at his own outfit of grey's and black. On the other hand, getting some attention might not be all bad.

As the kid smiled at him, he blinked and stepped back. Smiles usually meant trouble, but the kid didn't seem malicious intentions in his posture. As the kid swept on by, Shayde kept his eyes on him, his grey green eyes tracking like turrets. As the kid entered the building off to his right, Shayde shook his head, his lanky brown hair flowed around his head.

Turning back to the administration building, he located the main door and made a beeline for it. The sun was starting to get to him. Stepping forwards Shayde slowly slide his hands, and knife, back into his pockets. If the rest of the crew was like that kid, this school might not be like the rest.

Minutes later he found himself sitting a large comfortable chair in front of wood and glass door. Across the milky glass, in elaborate cursive writing was Dean's Office. The assistant had vanished through that door second earlier, but no sound or shadows showed from the other side. Eyes darted around the room, cataloging nooks, crannies, and possible places where someone could slip from. Shivering slightly Shayde moved over to the light switch and turned them down. Immediately he felt more comfortable. Sitting in the darkest corner, he slowly breathed out. As he did, the shadows seemed to lengthen and form around him.
