Kairi

Princess of Heart

Lakayna had landed on the ground the moment Kairi had landed on the Heartless's head."Thanks Lakayna," Kairi replied when her friend commented her on her move. Kairi was a little surprised with herself at how well she had managed that attack. Sora and Riku really had taught her well. Mulan, who had stood her ground beside Kairi, looked up at the crimsonette and nodded in appreciation and admiration. The Princess nodded back to her with a smile, and then the female warrior turned around and raced across the courtyard.

Kairi made her way down the dragon's back to where Riku was. She looked at the silvernette then down to Sora and asked them, "Any plans on on how to finish this thing?"

We pray for our sorrows to end, and hope that our hearts will blend.

Hikari's grip tightened on her keyblade. "You don't understand. No one understands. No heart can escape the darkness. All Hearts will eventually end in darkness. I.... I have to, I have to collect hearts!" she yelled, rushing ahead and got ready to strike Alexander, but then pulled away and swerved around him. My son will not be harmed by you! the voice in her head screamed. Getting past Alexander, she faced off with Shang, who she had to admit was a very good warrior, but her unconscious determination knocked him to the side.

"Alright! Time for some action!" Axel yelled, ready to throw his Chakrams when he heard Lakayna's voice. He growled, looking at the back pack that he had. Just when things were getting good, he grumbled in his mind. He then looked at Alexander and grinned. "I gotta head out with the others. You know what to do with her. I think she's finally lost it," he said, turning and ran out the room and through the already opened window, only to stop and see the Heartless. "Whoa...." he gasped and then saw Mulan. "Hey! Toss me that statue thing! I can get it to her!" he yelled over the noises the Storm Rider was making.

Sora quickly saw Riku grab the Heartless and start to fight it. Unfortunately, he couldn't jump that high, but the Heartless was creating small whirlwinds on the floor which made him smirk. "Just like last time," he muttered, jumping into one of the whirlwinds and launched himself into the sky, landing on the Heartless' back. "Riku! Kairi! We gotta keep this thing from Lakayna. She's getting too worn down! Mulan has the other half of the statue. And there's something going on with Hikari! She summoned this thing to attack her!" he yelled over the wind, gaining his balance so he could start attacking the creature.






The King was in his studies, scouring over several opened books at once. She should've written to me by now. What could be keepin' her anyway? he thought to himself. Ever since he had spoken to Hikari, Mickey had been trying to figure out exactly why he couldn't help her the way he intended. Even the Cornerstone of Light couldn't banish the overwhelming darkness that resided in her heart. He sat back and tried to think about his conversations with Ansem the Wise. Why would the darkness effect a heart in that way? It didn't seem typical. Mickey rubbed his chin in thought. He didn't see the fight between Xemnas, Riku and Sora, which didn't allow him to know exactly what happened. Still, Xemnas didn't seem like the type who would give up so easily. "Wait! I think that's it!" he exclaimed, jumping out of his chair and ran straight for the Gummi Ship hanger.

Naminé watched in horror as Hikari turned to Alex, her Keyblade up as she prepared to strike him... And yet at the last moment, she swerved away. Instead, Hikari took on Shang, and though Mulan's love fought bravely, he was eventually swept aside by Hikari. Alex took her on, speaking directly to her, words that Naminé figured Hikari would listen to. And yet she didn't. Hikari shoved Alex away and summoned a group of Wizard Heartless for him and Shang to deal with. Hikari then began to walk away, taking the hearts of any who crossed her path.

The petite blonde's brilliant blue eyes glittered dangerously and she suddenly raced forward. Running straight past Alex and Shang and the Wizard Heartles, she took off after Hikari. Finding a peice of debris - a handle of a sword - Naminé scooped it up. She clutched it in her hand, looking after Hikari. She had to distract her... keep her from finding the other half of the statue. Naminé threw the handle at Hikari with all her might and the handle collided with the back of Hikari's head. Not with enough foce to do real damage, but enough to get her attention. "Hikari. Stop." Naminé commanded, slowly walking forward towards the other girl. Lunar Eclipse appeared in her hand in a flash of light and she kept it at the ready as she approached Hikari.

OhOhSee: Sorry if that seems a bit like godmodding. I won't do it again; I just wanted Naminé to get Hikari's attention.

Kairi

Princess of Heart

Kairi felt a new confidence she had never felt before. Wether it was because she was fighting for a friend or that her two best friends were fighting with her or both, it made Kairi feel much more brave. Riku didn't seemed to have noticed the red head until she had asked her question. The silvernette looked up at Kairi with a light smirk then answered her. He pointed back to the way she had come, and said that they had to take out the head. "Got it," Kairi said to him with a nod. Riku then got to his feet, pulled out his Keyblade from the Storm Rider's back (causing it to roar again), then leapt over the crimsonette as he went to attack. Kairi quickly followed him in pursuit.

The Storm Rider had created several small whirlwinds on the ground. Sora jumped into one, launched himself into the sky, and landed Heartless' back. He told the silvernette and crimsonette that Lakayna was getting worn down, and that they needed to keep the Heartless away from her. He also told them about Mulan having the other statue half, and about what was going on with Hikari. Kairi already knew all this information, but Riku did not.

Riku began to question Sora and as he did the Storm Rider quickly lurched forward towards Lakayna. Kairi tighten he grip on the creature to make sure she didn't fall off. She saw Riku glare at the Heartless behind it's head and swiftly thrust his blade into it, causing the Heartless to slide into the ground and across the pavement. Sora jumped off the Storm Rider just before it crashed and Riku and Kairi followed. The Keybearer then filled the silvernette in on about what was happening. When Sora asked if maybe Hikari had also sent those other Heartless after Lakayna in the cavern before Kairi answered, "I want to think she didn't, but I think you may be right Sora." The Heartless then shot back up into the sky, flew some distance up, crashed its cymbals together, and began dropping fireballs down upon them.

Kairi could tell that Riku was troubled by what Sora had told him. The three of them dodged the fireballs as best they could. The red head wasn't as fast as her two friends so she had several close calls, the bottom of her dress getting singed a few times. And when Kairi went to dodge one she jumped right into the aim of another. She looked up and her eyes widened. It seemed like she was going to be hit so she closed her eyes tried her best to block. A second later she felt someone grab her and pull her out of the way. She gasped and opened her eyes. It was Riku. The Princess sighed then said to the silvernette with a smile, "Thank you Riku. I seriously don't know what I'd do without you and Sora." Riku then said to her in a kinda question that she and Sora could manage this. "Yeah Sora and I can handle this thing," the crimsonette told him pointing up towards the sky at the large Heartless. She looked back at Riku and grinned saying, Don't worry about us. Go find Hikari!" Riku stood up and began to run towards the palace. He passed Sora and called out to him as he did so, telling the brunette to take care of things there.

The Princess watched the silvernette run into the palace, then focused her attention back to the Storm Rider. It had finally stopped dropping fireballs and was making its way back down towards the ground. Kairi turned towards Sora and asked with a small smirk, "Ready to show this Heartless who's boss?" Once the the Heartless was close enough for them to attack Kairi cast her and Sora's Limit, Thalassa Promise. ((It's kinda similar to Sora and Riku's Eternal Session Limit, but it has more Light based attacks since that's where Kairi gets her power.)) The two of them rose up into the air and began madly slashing at the Storm Rider's head. The Keyblade Master and Princess of Heart then linked arms and began to glow with a soft golden light; their Keyblades encircling the Heartless and attacking at will, while beams of light shot forth and pierced the Heartless over and over again.

Kairi

Princess of Heart

As she and Sora performed their Limit, Kairi looked down for a moment and saw that Lakayna too was glowing. Before the crimsonette could question it, the light left Lakayna's body and swiftly joined her's and Sora's. Kairi felt a sudden warm in her heart, and she was sure Sora felt it too. The Princess and the Keybearer glowed even brighter as the dragoness's power strengthened their own. "Thank you Lakayna," Kairi thought to her friend as she realized what the dragoness must have done.

The red head looked at Sora and asked, "Ready?", and the brunette nodded in response. In a flash their Keyblades returned to their hands, and then the two of them placed their Keyblades one on top of another making them as one. Each gripped the handle with one hand then jumped up so that the Heartless's head was directly below them. With a bright ray of light Sora and Kairi shot downward, thrusting their Keyblades into the dragon Heartless's head right in between its two horns. The Storm Rider roared, crashed to the ground, then faded away its heart floating up to the sky. Sora and Kairi landed on the ground, no longer glowing. The Princess gave Sora a grin then ran over to Lakayna to see how she was doing.

"It's not enough. It's never enough. Kingdom Hearts must rise again. No one will stand in my way, you hear me? Nobody!" she screamed, her free hand igniting with Dark Fire as she drew her hand back to throw a Dark Firaga at the witch when she suddenly heard her brother's voice. Like a child caught in the act, she froze, her eyes still clamped shut and the Dark Firaga disappeared. Insolent fool! Take them both out! the voice ordered. No! I can't! Not Riku, please! she begged to the voice. I will not see Kingdom Hearts fall again! Do it!! the voice screamed angrily in her head. She suddenly felt a surge of pain rush through her head, the voice punishing her for her disobedience. She screamed out loud and gripped her head, her Dark Keyblade falling from her hand and disappeared before touching the floor. "I can't....... Riku.....!" she struggled as hot tears began to leak past her eye lids. Then your heart will go to Kingdom Hearts in their stead! the voice decided, the pain rushing from her head to her heart. Hikari fell to her knees, doubling over as she gripped her chest. She didn't know how much longer she would hold out. She needed Riku. She needed the King.
