Sapphire made her way down the hall slowly, glancing around at the doors as she passed by them. After a bit, she finally came to a door that was cracked open. Peering inside, she smiled a bit and pushed the door open. It was a bathroom, a surprisingly large one for as small as the door looked. A shower, towels, small cabinet, sink, everything. She took another brief glance down the hall, then turned and disappeared inside, locking the door behind her.

With a heavy sigh, she made her way over to the sink and mirror. Time to see how bad she really looked. Then find if there were any clothes in here for her to change into. She certainly couldn’t use her costume anymore. Where was her mask at? That was…she didn’t even think she had it with her when Chaos attacked her. She didn’t leave it in the hotel, did she? No…no, she grabbed her whole costume when Batman came and… ugh. She had so much to think about and worry about now it wasn’t funny. She had no home to go back to. No money…she couldn’t keep selling sapphires. No job, and no costume now. No clothes really. She could always make some, but… And Vandal Savage. She’d have to worry about him stalking her. She wasn’t eve sure if she was still pregnant. She’d have to find Warp and see about that. What was she going to do if she had kids? She had to leave Andrew and her younger siblings at headquarters most of the time. They had no headquarters or any place that was safe to leave them at. And she certainly couldn’t leave infants anywhere. She had nothing right now to help her raise them. She was sure Alex would get fed up with her when she found out. She’d probably end up raising them on her own. She wasn’t willing to give them up for adoption. She had an adopted son of her own. And if Savage would be looking for them, she couldn’t just leave that problem on another family. She wasn’t really sure she could keep them either. With Savage, and Gossamer had seen her without the mask. If she found out that there were kids, there was no telling what all she would do to them.

So…what was she going to do?

She stopped in front of the mirror to take a look at herself. To her surprise, there wasn’t a mark left on her. Her costume was…beyond repair. But that was the only physical sign that she had even been injured. She stared at her reflection for a long moment, then sighed deeply and turned away from it. Well…good. She didn’t have to contend with a painful shower from open wounds.
Stripping what was left of her costume, she tossed it to the side close to the trash can. There wasn’t much more she could do with it at this point. Boots would still be manageable though. Slipping them off, she sat them to the side. A small card fell out of one of them, and she paused a moment before picking it up. Oh…right. That one man had said that she’d be needed later on for…something. The way things were going, she didn’t think that she’d be much use for anyone. With a frown, she slid it back down into her boot and turned to get cleaned up. She didn’t want to take too long since her sisters were here. But…ugh. She wouldn’t mind spending an hour or two in the nice hot water.

Mary Jane had moved herself into one of the other rooms. She sat on a couch in front of a tv all by herself, flipping between the news and cartoons…just to get her mind off the news. And the fact that there was a lot going on, but no sign of Peter. She was starting to worry again. A lot. She couldn’t even get an answer from Gwen or anyone. She wanted to…she wanted to go out and look for everyone. At least try to go home and see if there was anyone there. But, Peter had told her to stay here. He knew she was here, and it was safe here. She didn’t want to go against what he told her to. Not again.
So, she should just…sit here and worry.

”Excuse me…” someone said from the doorway.

M.J.’s attention snapped away from the TV and she turned towards the voice. A woman with long black hair stood leaning against the arch, a dark violet robe wrapped around her. It…almost looked as though she had just gotten out of bed. ”Do you know where the restrooms are in here?” the woman asked.

”Um, yeah. There’s one at the end of the hall. On the right.” M.J. replied.

The woman nodded. ”Thank you.”

”What about a kitchen?” a man asked from behind her. The woman made a bit of a face and glanced over her shoulder. ”What? I’m starving.” the voice said guilelessly. The woman smirked and looked back at M.J. again.

”Down the hall, there will be a larger living room. Everyone seems to be sitting around in there. The kitchen is across from it.” M.J. said with a small smile.

The woman frowned a little when she’d said there were a lot of people in there. ”Just go ahead and head over. I’ll go to the kitchen and pick up whatever you want.” the man said from behind her. The woman paused for a moment in thought, then turned around to face the man. He had brown hair that was fluffed about as though he’d just gotten out of bed as well. That and…he was only wearing a pair of gray sweat pants. ”Alright.” she replied. ”Just…whatever you can get. And tea. Please.”

The man smiled. ”Coming right up. Meet you back in the room.” he said, then gave her a light kiss on the forehead.

The woman grinned a bit at the kiss, then watched him leave down the hall. She stood there for a moment, then seemed to realize that she was just standing there and turned back to M.J. She smiled, a light blush covering her face. ”Um, thank you again.” she said, then disappeared down the hall as well.
