Michael sat in his harness as his thoughts floated through his head, a sickness. His first sickness since he was 12. Home sickness. But he quickly dismissed the thought and the feelings to make room for the thoughts of destruction. He was an ODST now, not some private right out of boot camp. Living the life of a UNSC soldier was hell and him and his fellow soldiers were about to be put right smack in the middle of it.

The Pelican slowed its rate of movement considerably as it neared the massive, metal 'underside' of Theta Halo. This entire 'side' of the ring was covered with strange grooved indents and figures, which only became massive canyons as the Pelican moved closer. Their target was a large, circular area that was flat and, ironically enough, resembled a target. It would be the perfect spot for the ships to launch their attacks from a distance. They had originally planned to locate the generators that powered Theta Halo and destroy them, but that would take far too much time, while this was much more simple and required less man-power. With this in mind, the pilot of the Pelican settled the craft 'down' on the hard underside of the ring. The SPARTAN quickly turned around to check that both of his soldiers had their helmets on, and signaled for the hatch to open, which it slowly did. As it did, he clicked on his COM and issued their only orders.

"Now, were' going to secure these four HAVOK nuclear warheads in this circle, spacing them each about fifty feet apart in a square formation. The two longswords will cover us as much as possible as we do this. We'll be securing in the most advanced way possible...With this..." His right hand reached into a small pack that was on every Pelican, and tossed each of them a roll of industrial-sized, emerald green duct tape. "We don't need to set up any long range sensors for detonation, since they're just going to blow when we use Shiva missiles. These are just to ensure that this thing won't survive the blast. They're already armed so, screwing with them in any way is not recommended. Is that understood?"

(( We're doing something quite unheard of. ))

Mendez caught his roll and unhooked a HAVOK from the crate. "Aye." He floated out the pelican's bay door and meanuvered his nuke into place. Pulling out the roll of tape, he put twenty strips along the length of the HAVOK and started floating in the opposite direction. "One in place."

The SPARTAN cautiously removed one of the HAVOK warheads from its soft, foam-like inner casing, and carefully held it as he walked a good distance from the Pelican, not measuring it exactly as he focused entirely on not tightening or loosening his grip on the nuke for fear of setting it off, craddling it in his left arm and holding the duct tape in his right hand as he headed out. He eventually reached his mark and kneeled down, placing the nuke gently onto the hard metal surface and securely tapping it down, before swiftly getting back up and moving back toward the Pelican. He let out a quiet sigh to himself as he tilted his head upward, gazing into the perfectly empty space 'above' as he moved. He examined several of the stars that covered his view as he walked, trying to remember where the other nukes would be as he did.

Michael did as he was told, his training being put back into affect. He had never done a EVA before but it was incredible. To bad he had to do it with a nuke. He manuvered it into its place and secured it with the ductape. He looked around at both Mendez and the SPARTAN, the butterflies starting to come again. "Sir, I have a bad feeling about this" he started and then ended with the worst part, "The same feeling I had as those creatures attacked us."

Mendez floated back into the Pelican and grabed anoter HAVOK nuke and floated out. "Hammer has the last one, I'm going to finish setting this one." The HAVOK secured, he floated quickly back to the Pelican. "Soon as he's done, let's go."

He nodded slightly, knowing the Marines couldn't see it from this distance as he listened to their radio reports. He squinted slightly as he noticed one star in his sight vanished and quickly reappeared. Finding this to be odd, since he hadn't seen any of the stars 'twinkling' until now, he tried to focus on the object that seemed to move in front of these stars, which was now getting closer to his position. Knowing it was pointless, he barely had time to yell "Seraph!" over the COM system, before pulling out his Magnum from its holster and firing at the nearing Covenant fighter. He knew it had its own shielding, and that thier two Longswords were covering the other two Marines, so he didn't have many options open to him as its plasma weapons strobed and he felt several hot shots of heated plasma slamming into his chest, causing him to jump to the side while firing, quickly emptying out his only clip as he ship flew by him.

Mendez grabbed hold of a canyon edge and flipped his body inside, using the momentum from his foward motion to carry him over. When the Seraph passed, He propelled his body towards the Pelican bay and slammed into the Bulkhead. "HAMMER! STRAP IT DOWN AND GET OUT OF THERE!"

He got up slowly, turning his head from side to side in an attempt to spot the stealth-like craft as he tossed his pistol to the side. He didn't bother bringing extra ammo for it, and was now paying for it. He glanced at his shield gauge and was thankful that it wasn't completely empty, knowing that one hit might puncture his suit and kill him. He had no right to complain, however, since his Marines didn't even have shielding. Knowing this, he didn't hesitate to run back in the direction of their Pelican, and the protection of their Longswords.

Michael glanced up as he finished strapping down the HAVOK. His eye caught the Seraph and he reached to his back drawing his pistol. "Sir, I brought it just in case" he said over the COM link. The nack of not following orders had somehow both been brung with him and promoted with him. Disobeying a SPARTAN. It was an all time low. He didn't fire the gun though but instead pushed off the ring towards the Pelican with a hard kick.

Mendez grabbed Michael's collar and Hauled him inside the Pelican. "Sir, soon as you're here, We're gone."

The SPARTAN didn't hesitate to kick off from the surface of Halo towards his Pelican, hearing several missiles being fired from one of their Longswords as it went after the Seraph. He immediately grabbed hold of something, informed the pilot that everyone was accounted for, and turned to watch the aft hatch closing just in time to see the Seraph turn into a ball of fire and scrap metal as it was destroyed. He Pelican lightly tapped its thrusters to get off the hard surface, before quickly darting off back towards the Titan with the two Longswords close behind.
