Deathnote has a peculiar ending. I didn't really like it. Kira should've taken over the world only to be killed by his son...That would've been better in my opinion...Or even he makes the world "perfect" but then his world collapses on him. I dunno...I just finished watching DNAngel and I was considering looking at Hero, Melancholy of Haruhi, Seirei no Moriboto, Ghost in a Shell, and now Vampire Knight. Eh..."Innie, minnie, miny, mo, catch a tiger by the toe..."

I reached 300! ::pats self in back:: Now we're 5th years! Hero? Never heard of. MoH never heard of either. Ghost in the shell is the only one I've ever heard of...I tried watching it but it was confusing. I really don't like mEcha...
PostPosted: Sun Jan 13, 2008 12:57 am

Lol. I skip the fighting scenes anyhow...Fighting scenes are boring. Ghost in a Shell seemed kind of fun, but maybe it isn't...I forget what Hero was about though...Yay! 5th Years dance and some toasts! cheese_whine

Right back at you! cheese_whine ::dances like a raver:: I know the chinese movie-Hero. That was a good movie. Some fighting scenes are cool like naruto and bleach..I guess I follow mainsream anime. Do you cosplay? Conventions? Fanfictions?
PostPosted: Sun Jan 13, 2008 1:08 am

Is Hero the one with those two men fighting and the sons watch them or something and then the sons fight against each other later on, too. I don't remember...

I, Robot's pretty good. It made me think a lot at least. Forest Gump was phenomenal. I don't really cosplay, but I like seeing cosplays. I'm not sure what conventions are unless you mean a convention where fans meet together...Fanfiction is fun to read, especially if they are sad...Yea, I like sad stories.

Anyhow, before I end up getting drunk on Butterbeer and Pumpkn Juice, I'm going to head off to bed so I won't fail Potions class today. Good luck, you should sleep, too, and don't forget about your Defense Against Dark Arts quiz tomorrow!

Oh yeah.
If we put another banner (Valentine's Day?) into our signature, does it count anymore? x3

I had the seasonal one until New Years... domokun

We're in feverish planning for Valentine's Day now, and there will be a Valentine's banner competition, so yes. There will be a thread to post in so it's easy to count.

I thought of Vortigan, well all of us really, all of our thoughts and questions around Tarot made this notice catch my eye, it's a lecture going to be held in San Diego this coming week.
If I'm not working, I may go.

January 25th. -- Adrianne Abeyta -- The Tarot

Tarot cards have long been regarded as esoteric and magical, even diabolical or evil. Mysterious as they may be, tarot cards are a powerful tool for self- discovery. Like a mirror, the external world is but a reflection of the inner. Tarot cards are a compendium of knowledge, wisdom, and philosophy; the essential patterns and story of your life. The cards allow us to peer into the images of the soul, they offer insight into the collective experiences of human nature, and they provide a bridge between the known and the unknown.

As seen through symbolic and pictorial images, the cards’ meanings remain fluid and open to interpretation. As a projective tool, tarot engages the imagination--creating a dialogue with the inner world of images and the intuition.

Adrienne will be talking about the basic structure of the tarot as seen through a psychological and symbolic perspective. Join us and learn what the different suits mean, how they apply to astrology, how the major and minor Arcana differ, and how to begin teaching yourself. Similar to the ideas of Carl Jung, Joseph Campbell, James Hillman, and other great minds, this discussion will be shaped in an archetypal, mythological, and spiritual framework. To demonstrate the innate abilities we all share for reading images, Adrienne will guide the group through an experiential process of interpreting the tarot. Whether you know nothing about the cards or are a seasoned reader, this discussion is sure to ignite curiosity and intrigue.

Adrienne Abeyta has been practicing and teaching the tarot for several years, during which she has developed a practical and symbolic approach to the cards. She believes the cards are most valuable for the purposes of self- reflection and personal development. Currently, she is working as a Life Coach and running a psychic entertainment business. She is also pursuing a degree in Religious Studies and raising a daughter. Adrienne is also the facilitator of a monthly tarot discussion group.

Adrienne’s passion for tarot and other intuitive arts will come across clearly and energetically when you hear her speak. Engaging and enthusiastic, she often invites participation from the audience. Her knowledge is always communicated in a way that is comprehensive and fun. You can expect to walk away from this discussion with a new perspective on an old subject!

More about Adrienne, her contact information and her classes is all available on her faculty page of the California Institute for Open Studies' website... www.californiaopenstudies.com/?section=faculty&id=FAC003.

You people posted so much since yesterday @_@ But no worries, I sort of caught up with what everyone'S been saying:

About Try-outs: Awesome, the threads up! I'll go there ASAP.

About Twilight/other books: I've seriously been wanting to read Twilight, once of my friends told me about it and it sounds uber interesting. It's just really hard to come by books in my hometown, and whenever I go out of town, I get distracted by another shiny book...

A series I just finished reading is Tithe, Valiant and Ironside by Holly Black, the lady who wrote Spiderwick? It's really worth taking a look into!

KitaAmaya
Atonement is a beautiful book...

Read it, it's by Ian McEwan. As for tryouts, make a shoutout please...what Vortigan said. And I just noticed that, too Vortigan...where are all the men...

Dude, way to make us look like idiots, rest of the male population ;_;

I wouldn't worry about it though *macho stretch* There's enough Vorti to do all the manly things in this house. Oh, and cooking. I can cook, suprisingly.

Holy cow! So many posts from yesterday (I swear it was at 74 pages!)

Try-outs: I'll be there ASAP, I need to finish some studying then I'll go and check it out!

Twilight: Yesyes. People who haven't read it, it's a must read biggrin So is the Uglies/Pretties/Specials/Extras series, by Scott Westerfield (Or was it Westerlies? I...forgot. XD)

LHH: Thanks, so I guess I'll put one into my signature later! Yay!

Ah. So many things to do! -runs around in panicked circles-
PostPosted: Sun Jan 13, 2008 2:05 pm

Wondering, is the Uglies about the person who became pretty that one day and all that jazz? I haven't read it, but I saw some people really enjoying that book...Boy, oh boy. Yea, Paraphernalia and I got a bit...carried away (glances at Page 75).
And Vorti is such a cool name, can I call you that! Vorti...Men cooking is really cool in my opinion. It's just me, I guess, though...

I love the uglies, pretties and specials, I really need to read the new book in his series. Kita, it is about a society who bases everything on plastic surgery and looking beautiful. We did get carried away last night. Anyways, I was watching the chargers vs the colts game a few min ago and the chargers won! It was so awesome! xd
PostPosted: Sun Jan 13, 2008 2:14 pm

Wouldn't that be like the Charger's 4th win against Colts in a row or something? The Seahawks lost...it was snowing hard on the field and the Seahawks weren't prepared for the slipperiness whereas the Packers were playing on their home field! Lol. Hasselback (is that how you spell it?) threw the ball into the ground on accident! But I don't really watch/follow football, just what people tell me.

'Course you can call me Vorti biggrin That goes for everyone else in Ravenclaw, ya hear?

Uglies... that's another book I need to look into. I think somebody in my english class used that book along with Margaret Atwood's 'Edilble Woman' for her synthesis essay...
