Allo Vincent!
And Lorenta, the Star Threatre is about two blocks from the original Voodoo. My favorite, oddly enough, are the maple bars with bacon. Omgosh, those are amazing!! We're going to head out early and hit the gyro cart ((best gyros in the NW!)) then hit Voodoo, and finally settle at the theatre for the concert. It's going to rock so hard.

Greetings all! You may call me Himaru or Hima, whichever you prefer. I'm 19 years of age and have been on gaia since 2007, but I really only starting roleplaying a lot last year. Currently, I'm working to improve my writing in an effort to write my own book though I have a long way to go.
Well that's about all I can think of, if you have any questions for me feel free to ask.

What genre were you thinking for your book?

Cheshiyre Greetings Himaru! We have a few published authors in the guild, as well as a couple of comic artists.
What genre were you thinking for your book? Greetings Cheshiyre! Nice to meet you. That would explain some of the large posts then. Any have writing as their professional career? Fantasy genre. But my writing and ideas need a lot of work. J. R. R. Tolkien's and Robert Jordan's' work is quite inspiring, same with George R. R. Martin's Song of Fire and Ice, or Dragonriders of Pern by Anne McCaffrey. I have yet to read all of those books fully, they take awhile, especially Jordan's work.

I know at least two professionals in our midst, but I'll leave it up to them if they'd like to introduce themselves. It is not my place to out them.
All of those authors have been in my reading list throughout the years >^.^< And yes, the Wheel of Time series is worth it but stars, is it looooong... Tolkien is also a tedious read (if we are enitrely honest with ourselves). But the world woven is so full and fleshed, we are inclined to forgive him.
If you start roleplaying with any regularity, you might consider taking a glance at Tuatha. It is a table-top styled campaign in a Fantasy/Steampunk setting. We have one committed group of roleplayers running the game, but I've been told several times that others visit the thread simply because they are enjoying the story.

It'll be a long time before I read though all four of those series. I did take a glance, it is quite interesting, but a bit over my head as well. I feel my own roleplaying would need to increase tenfold its current state to even compare with the current posters. It can he hard join a roleplay that is so far advanced. I forget to ask, will we move these conversations to a private message at some point or just continue them here?

Thorne and I are huge fans of the Star Wars universe. There are hundreds of books that are all essentially published fan fiction. I love to see true devotees flesh out history and worlds after the original creator has laid down the pen.
As far as conversation, at the moment we are just bumping the thread. I'm sure they'll forgive us. But you are correct. It is the intro thread. You are welcome to message me though, if you would like to continue. >^.^<

As a Tolkien fan, are you planning to go see The Hobbit? gaia_nitemareleft gaia_crown gaia_nitemareright I saw it last Saturday, and I was overjoyed at the skill with which it was made. With so much detail in keeping true to the book, as well as adding a few extra things that would keep the movie interesting without causing the story to change, it was excellent. I don't want to put in spoilers in here, but I would gladly rate it 9.5/10. 9 at the least.

Excellent to hear. I had enjoyed the book and while I feel Peter Jackson did a wonderful job with Lord of the Rings, I was hesitant about him filming The Hobbbit for some reason.
